static/digital waveform output and low frequency measurement of voltage - SMU-6358

Hello

1. I have an attached VI [digital_voltage_output] who must generate a logical true or false static state in the output of the device/port0/line1 Word to say. When the VI works I click the button several times, but nothing happens to the port0/lines1.

2 such a thing [digital_voltage_waveform_output_square] if I'm trying to generate a digital waveform to pin the same with the waveform generating VI. If I connect a waveform chart to the output of the generator function VI, then the chart will show me the good waveform I want, but still nothing is written to the text file.

3. I have read the manual for the X series cards, but it remains unclear for me a little how to things of the road in LV I have a measure of the frequency measurement VI low frequency that I downloaded. It offers me the ports for the supply frequency - ctr0, 1, 2, etc. As far as I'm concerned the PFI ports are responsible for these types of actions. How can I find out the LV that I want to connect say ctr0 and pfi0? »

I use LV 8.6.

Thank you

Hi Kriváň,

The problem you had with the choice of a specific digital line as a physical channel, is that the control that was previously used in this example was created for a data acquisition task that uses a whole port rather than a specific line. I was able to overcome this problem by removing the control and recreate. The control now gives you the option to choose the specific digital lines e.g. port0/PXI1Slot2/$line0.

I was also able to overcome the error of-200802 you mentioned. I was able to do this in a real constant of wiring at the entrance to auto-start the VI DAQmx writing then remove the DAQmx beginning the subsequent code VI. The modified code is attached.

I hope this helps.

Best regards

  • using scxi 1303 and 1100 to measures of pressure

    Hello

I use the scxi 1303 and 1100 to measure the voltage inputs. Specifically, I have 8 voltage at 0 - 10 v and 9 measures of pressure to 4-20mA, converted to signals 1 - 5V with a 250 Ohm resistor.

My arrises now question about pull upward resistance. I don't have resistance inserted (as the manual leads me to believe that they are not necessary). My arrises now problem of a difference in the voltage across the resistance (the same as the display of pressure transmitter) and the voltage displayed by Labview.

    For example:

    Voltage = 1.47 V

    LabVIEW display = 1.18 V

1303/1100 Setup requires it resistance of 10 ohms, or don't you think that something is happening?

Thank you and please forgive me if this question has been addressed!

Good news... After much stable, time and tears I have solved the problem. I have indeed had a hardware issure. The module SCXI-1100 I used was broken somehow and was replaced by a functional SCXI-1102.

  • NEITHER USB-6343: erratic low frequency 1 counter measures

    Dear members,

I'm looking for help with a measure of low frequency counter.  I tried to make it work for a week or two, but I keep getting erratic measures.  It will read the rpm properly for a second or two and then it will give a ridiculous value on the order of 10,000 times the correct value. I can not get a constant value.

I use a DAQ series X NI USB-6343 multifunction with Geartooth Honeywell GTN1A111 sensor. I enclose a sketch of the wiring configuration.  I think that it is correct.  Sensor output to the door of the meter.

To try to solve this problem, I hooked the sensor to an analog input channel to make sure that I was getting a TTL signal by sensor.  I noticed every once in a while I'd see a glitch of little noise in the signal and I guess that's what is causing my problem with the meter.  I inserted two waveforms of the sensor signal (one with the clean signal) and the other with the glitch of noise.  My understanding of a TTL signal meter channel will examine LO voltage when it is below 0.8V and HI when it is larger than 3.8V.  So I really do not understand why these little glitches could be the cause of the problem because they are well below and above 0.8V and 3.8V, respectively.  I think that the noise comes from a frequency converter used to drive the engine.  I tried the system as much as possible of the Earth.

I guess I'm looking for another approach.  I could potentially use a digital filter to help with noise? The glitch is in fact the problem or I forgot something.  The VI in question is attached.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

Have you tried to set up a digital filter yet?  Obviously the seeds are collected as an additional transition (the method of low frequency counter 1 measure the period and then reverse, so a short glitch would record as a very high frequency).

You can enable the digital filter with the following property node:

Min pulse width is guaranteed pulse past the filter, so it should be low enough for the real signal is guaranteed to pass through (but high enough so that the glitch is always rejected).

  • Simultaneous release of digital waveform at different frequencies - cDAQ-9174 with two 9477 maps error-50103

    Hello

I'm working on a project that requires two outputs digital signals at different frequencies. Frequency of the phase 1 is about 1 kHz and is modulated on and off to a pace that will change during the execution of the program. Wave 2 passes from 1 kHz to about 6 kHz while needing to be pretty accurate to the tenth of a Hertz.

Initially, I tried to manage the simultaneous output of signals at different frequencies using a single task on a single 9477 daqmx in a cdaq-9174 chassis. As far as I know, the best way to get a specific frequency in a waveform output is to set the sampling frequency up to 2 times the frequency of the wave that is generated and generate a waveform that is given to each clock cycle. This works very well when it comes to a gesture, but I was unable to get the frequency of the modulated wave (wave 1) remains constant when the frequency of wave 2 modified or vice versa.

I have a few other modules lying around (another 9477, 9403 and 9476) and I thought I would try another task running on a separate module. I find myself receive error-50103 message if I add these modules to my cdaq chassis and run one of the waveforms of a task set to run on the add-on. Is there a way to bypass this error? I guess it would cause by running two digital output on the cdaq-9174 tasks at the same time, but it seems to me that this wouldn't be a problem with an additional module.

How can I have two outputs digital signals, running at the same time, maintaining their independent frequency frequency of the clock of the other sampling rate changes. In addition, because the wave 1 is enabled and disabled at a defined frequency, I use it to set the number of samples to write when you write a range of waveforms in the module (when generating these two waveforms on the same module).

I'm sorry if the explanation was difficult to understand. I've attached an example of error 50103 lifting. This isn't really a part of my project as a whole, but it is the easiest way to reproduce the error.

    Thank you

    Hi awol.

I have a follow up for you. You encounter the error because the cDAQ chassis has only a timing engine of. You will not be able to perform simultaneous tasks of the call by the hardware. • digital reading correlated and static

    Hello

    I use a CDAQ-9172 chassis with a 9423 module and a module 9425.

Can I make measurements correlated with the static AND 9423 of reading with 9425 module at the same time?

I think to create 2 separate tasks for it.  A task for corellated measures and one for static electricity.  Would this work?

    Thank you

    Dan

Altogether.  The cDAQ-9172 you can have 1 correlation digital special entry, 1 digital output correlated with task and any number of static digital tasks, at the same time.

On the cDAQ-9172 modules in correlated digital task must be in slots 1-4.  There is no restriction of slot on the static digital tasks.

Just like the heads-up, 9425 module can currently * only * do entry static, but that looks like what you want.

  • Continuous output of digital waveforms on PCI-6602

I use 6602 PCI to get a continuous 1 MHz square wave output of DIO1 ~ 32 sequentially controlled by LabVIEW. I Ctr0 to generate a clock 2 MHz and used Ctr0InternalOutput as a source of sample for DIO1 clock ~ 32. I have attached the code and the texture as follows.

The code works fine on PCIe-6251 and digital waveforms of 1 MHz is very stable.

But when I run on PCI-6602 I got an error-200077 (you asked for: sample clock; you can request: on-demand).

6602 PCI does support material timing? I found no information about this its specifications. If she can't, how can I avoid this problem and get what I want? Thank you!

    Yi

    Version: LabVIEW 8.2

    hardware: PCI-6602

    Hello

Have you looked at the specification for the 6602?

    http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/en/NID/1123

Click on "specifications".  Scroll down to "digital i/o".  Watch "Timing".  It clearly says "software".

The DIO lines on this Board are not timed by the hardware.  They are clocked by the software.  The data sheet that explains very clearly.  That's why you see the error clock sample - that the Council can't stand DIO clocked by the hardware.

The 6251 supports clocked by DIO material, so why your code works very well with this Council.  You can do the generation of signals with a 6602.

    Hope says.

  • How do I output up to 8 high and low?

    Hello

I'm still new to Labview, and I can't seem to find a way to do something fairly simple.

I have a device that has 8 entries, and each entry is "lit" by providing a high signal (5V).  I would like to use Labview to provide that these high and low signals to these 8 output pins.  An additional intracacy is that each channel will have to be activated or deactivated by pressing a button of Labview.  What commands/functions labview I should use to provide this feature?  Are there related examples in Labview or online?  Thank you very much.

    I use a NI 9401 to provide these 8 output channels.  http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/en/NID/208809

You can search for examples on how to produce digital signals.  Go to help - find examples and numeric type and get labeled examples "write dig Chan".  There is an example that will run on the 9401.  Then, you can adapt it for your use.

  • Measure voltage low frequency

    Hello

I use PCI 6025E to control load Bank and to measure the voltage, current and frequency of a generator.
Current and the frequency is not a problem, voltage is toublesome.
As on test bench already there are few PCI cards and large number of sensors, I don't want to add NI 9205 or any other additional maps and the size of the area (other people are also working there).

The problem with blood pressure is three two generators spend 400 rpm to 1600 rpm is. some 15 to 55 Hz.

I got two solutions for this:

1, put a step down transformer (230 Vac / 5 Vac) and then measure the voltage. But I have to deal with magnetic saturation with commercially available processor during the test to something like 15 Hz. I don't want to take the pain to built my own transformer.

2, using high precision voltage divider. The problem is that what should be the galvanic insulation? Insulation transformer, but still low frequency problem.

Where could someone suggest me because there is a bit of confusion in my head.

    Thank you.

If you have a sinusoidal generator (15 Hz migth be hard for the soundcard ) you can do a calibration of your transformer.

(If only the amplitude of the voltage is of interest, use a DMM isolated as a reference and run your generators)

Or you buy an insulation voltage amplifier. (weidmueller, phoenix, wago,...)

  • Generate digital waveforms of high frequency

    Hi all

I have some problems. Today, I am generating several digital high frequency waves with my DAQ (PCI-6251) card. The duty cycle of the waveform must be adjustable.

The required frequency is 100 kHz.

To do this, I have tried several solutions:

    (1) I used counters in the acquisition of data to generate waveforms, and it worked fine.  However, I have only two counters. In my application, I need to at least three waveforms with different cyclical report;

    (2) I used a 'loop' and structures 'case' in labview to build the model of waveform and then feed them to the digital I/o. However, the problem with this solution is that the frequency of the wave generated cannot be high.

    (3) I used a 'digital' generator in Labview to generate waveforms and then feed them to the digital I/o. In this case, the time base is from an external source (200 kHz). However, with this solution, the cycle is not adjustable.

Please give me some advice on how to make these waveforms.  Your assistance is appreciated.

OK, so I may be wrong, but after mucking around for a bit, I realized that the regeneration should be automatic - in other words, if you a pattern to the right and then just leave your VI work in a while loop, you will find that the generation is continuous.  Discover the correlation dig write metered in the finder for example Labview.  You can leverage this as you get the cyclical report you are looking for.  You can split the signal down what you write a single period consisting of a series of 0 and 1.  In other words, if you want a wave of 100 kHz with a cycle of 20%, you write a pattern of digital waveforms a 1100000000 at the rate of 1 MHz.  Using this technique, the resolution of the cycle will be limited by the on-board clock speed (80 MHz = 0.125%).

Let me know if this makes sense - I am unable to reproduce this on my desktop and have never had to do this before.

    Cheers, Matt

  • Can I use 6115 measure DC or low frequency signal

I use 6115 OR data acquisition if put singnal superior to 100 Hz, the result is very good.

But if the frequency below 10 Hz, the result is not fair.

I try MAE and choose the DC coupling mode, it still can not measure DC signal.

What can I do? or the NI6115 can measure just the DC or the lower frequency signal.

    Thank you

    Hi xsfl,

Please try the other channel. I wanted to ask, what are the characteristics of your signal? What is a sinusoidal signal, how often, what range of amplitude? Also, have you been able to measure low frequency signals before or is this the first time you try?

Also, remember that you are above the minimum rate, 20kS/sec, sampling sampling as to the care.

  • PXI-6133 Pulse frequency output and input with DAQmx

I am trying to set a pulse meter output frequency task and read this signal with a frequency counter input task input pulses.  I use a 2 PXI-6133, each connected to a BNC-2090 case has.  I want to output a square of a certain frequency with the task frequency meter pulse output and then read the frequency of this signal using a task of cost input frequency.  I don't know how to property set up these tasks, or how to define which device to use for each heap.  I don't know what terminals on the BNC-2090 is the counter of entry/sortient channels correspond to them because that is not displayed in the documentation of the PXI-6133 or documentation of BNC-2090.

Please see the attached VI for my attempt to put this in place.  Currently, I get two errors:

    (1) error-200452 took place at the property Node DAQmx channel meter Test - referred to as property is not supported by the device or is not applicable to the task.

    2. the error-89136 at DAQmx Start Task - specified route cannot be met because the hardware does not support.

If I remove two channels of property DAQmx where I try to put the terminals for the counters, while the program is running, but then I know not what terminals on the BNC-2090 meters are connected to!  This causes the DAQmx read for the cost in the tasks of frequency to timeout because it does not detect a signal.

I would really appreciate the help to properly configure these tasks and determine what terminals on the BNC-2090 case has the task of counter will work on.

I see a few problems in the code originally:

    1. For your CI task, you type is defined as a counter entry > frequency.  But on the node property of DAQmx channel for this task, you modify the CI. Property of PulseWidth.Term.  It should be CI. Freq.Term. set the entry regardless of the PFI line you do not want the input signal on.  Tip: you don't have to type the name of the device in at all.  Enter "PFI0", it's the same as "DevN/PFI0" since the unit has already been specified in the DAQmx Virtual Channel Create function.  The name of the device, leaving aside will make your code more flexible where you decide later to change the name of the device.

    2. Maps of the S series, such as the 6133, do not have the same flexibility to change the output terminals of tasks of meter you might find with M or X series device.  Page 83 of the S series manual watch what signals can be extracted to PFI lines - Ctr0Out is not one of these.  Instead, Ctr0 out is, by default, pin 2.  Cabling to a BNC-2090 6133 is certainly difficult to understand out (probably because the 2090 was designed to work with the materials of the E and M series), but if you compare the pinout of a PXI-6255 0 with the 6133 pinout connector, you will notice that they are essentially a match 1-1.  Pin 2 is PFI12 on the 6255, so I assume the same for the 6133.  All this to say, Ctr0Out always appears on the pin 2/PFI12 for the 6133 and you therefore cannot change the output terminal that your code is trying to do, having for result error-89136.  Remove this node from the property altogether and the error should disappear.

  • determination of the sampling rate and the frequency waveform data record

    Hello

I write a simple program that collect data from a triaxial accelerometer input, convert it to a frequency spectrum, and then save the time domain and the frequency of the waveforms in an external file separated.  I don't understand how to set the sampling frequency, however.  On the DAQ Assistant, I updated the acquisition mode "Samples continues" and read samples is 2 k, which corresponds to the total number of data points that are collected.  How can I program sampling for awhile, it 30 seconds, for example?  Wouldn't be better to set up a trigger, as it will continue to collect data up to what I told it to stop?

I also want to save waveform data in a separate file that can be easily seen by other computers that have not installed Labview.  I have currently the program put in place to convert a text string of the waveform of the time domain and then save it in a text file or a spreadsheet.  It works fine, but I would also like to record the frequency wave, which is a different type of data.  How can I do this or is there a better way?

My program is attached.  Thanks for your help!

Here's how you can use the shift register to build the table, and also where you can choose to play exactly 100 samples per while the loop iteration.
