  • (Space key) Apple wireless keyboard is repairable?

My old wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard of 5 years was apparently a defective key space bar. The problem is not with the elastic key mechanism, but with the actual connection of keys hidden in the body of the keyboard. I heard that it is NOT repairable. Is this true?

The keyboard had other less critical problems as well. He loved, from time to time, is not to get paired with my iMac, so I had to switch to a reserve USB keyboard. However, when the offender has been almost left that she paired and reconnected himself by himself.

Should I throw in and buy the new keyboard of magic? -I don't like the connection of the USB cable.

Sorry, but your question has nothing to do with Apple networks. I suggest that you resubmit your message in the screen area of the Apple Support communities in order to get a potential solution.

  • Default wireless keyboard fn key

I just got a new HP Omni-27 (Windows 7 64-bit) desktop that comes with a keyboard wireless KG-1162.  The problem is that the status of the function keys fn is reversed from what it should be.  For example, the f10 key reduces the brightness of the screen rather than send a f10 code to the application, and fn + f10 sends a code f10 instead of dimming display.  This makes the keyboard extremely frustrating when you try to use applications that make heavy use of function keys, such as MS Office products and developer IDEs.  Another example is the interactive games that require the use of the function keys, but you rarely have a free extra finger also hold down the fn key.  It is analogous to trying to use a keyboard that is not a caps lock key, but always acts as if shift caps lock was on.  Several keyboards that I use as part of a day, it's the only one who acts in this way.  I would really like to find a way to solve this problem, before you throw this keyboard and buy one that works as it should.  Here is what I tried and learned so far:

    • The references very little, I was able to find in a Google search, that is to suggest things that don't work, or suggest that it is a problem of provider.
    • A conversation with HP support did not help.
    • I checked that no HP wireless keyboard connected to a computer not HP laptop running Windows 7 is correctly.
    • I checked that a USB keyboard plugged into my PC works correctly.
    • My previous HP PC with another keyboard HP wireless Vista worked properly, while he lived.

My conclusion is that the problem is probably related to the driver for this particular model of wireless keyboard.  Can anyone help with a solution (other than to throw him out and use one that works correctly)?

[Updated to add more recent information from the keyboard manual].

The f1 through f11 keys do or multimedia keys, standard function keys. The default value is multimedia.

To switch multimedia on the standard function, press fn + esc keys simultaneously. This locks the standard function keys. To switch back to standard feature of multimedia press, the fn + esc keys simultaneously again.

Pressing the fn key at the same time with a f1 to the f11 key, performs the standard function.

Press fn + fx at startup of the system to use the function keys to access and use the features of the BIOS (for example, the boot or system recovery Menu).

If the keyboard and mouse do not respond, refer to the mouse and keyboard wireless information located with your other product troubleshooting documents.

For a better battery performance and mouse, avoid using your mouse on a dark or shiny surface and turn the mouse off the power when you do not use.

  • No idea: sudden failure of several keys on the wireless keyboard

Hello, I use a wireless keyboard HP, M/N on the back said SK-2060, but this site does not recognize as a model number, so I'm not entirely sure what keyboard model number it is.

The keyboard has been working well for months, more than a year by this question, I think. Just this morning several key of all isn't on me at the same time, and they are all in the same area. O, 9, f7, and f8 keys are not admissible. I have read some things and thought it might be a driver problem, I uninstalled the drivers for my keyboard and the keyboard no longer works, I re-plugged my wireless adapter and it re-installed the drivers and the keyboard is working again. All the broken keys still don't work.

I don't think it's a hardware problem, none of the buttons seem as if something is stuck sub, or obstructed in any way. All of them worked very well last night, now they have suddenly stopped and they are all in the same general area of the keyboard.

I was wondering if someone could help understand me what went wrong, or how I might be able to fix it.

I have a new keyboard for the moment, but it is not as comfortable as the keyboard HP that I use, and I would be able to fix it if I could.

Hi, I accidentally cut on my sticky keys. I hit the SHIFT key five times, according to the microsoft.com; However, it will not unlock. When I try to type, I hear a noise, but I don't see anything happening. Any suggestions?  Thank you!

    Hi lgriffith1297,

Thank you for visiting Windows Vista Microsoft answers forum.

Sticky keys are enabled on the computer and that is why you are getting the beep when you try to type something using the keyboard. You must disable sticky keys.

To activate deactivate StickyKeys, follow these steps:

    1. click on start and then click Control Panel.

    2. click on 'Ease of access' and then click 'accessibility '.

    3. under "Explore all settings" click on "Make the keyboard easier to use".

    4. under "make it easier to type", uncheck "Turn on Sticky Keys" and click Save.

  • Wireless keyboard 6000 v 3.0 Enhanced F keys work not properly.

Just bought a Wireless Keyboard 6000 v3.0 installed the software on my Vista 64 bit system with Service Pack 2 installed and everything seemed OK until I came to use the features of the F1 to F12 keys.  For example when wishing to print a MS Word 2007 document pressing the F12 print key it refreshes the save box.  Press F11 which is recording key nothing happens, when you press F10 to spell check a series of small boxes with letters and numbers appear on the Word tab bar.  Checked the settings in the control panel for keyboard, everything looks OK and checked the settings of the tab key that once again apears so that these keys correctly assigned. Checked and keyboard software is up-to-date. Any help would be appreciated on how to get these keys work correctly.

  • The 10 key pad does not work on my wireless keyboard.

This just happened.  For some reason any (I don't know if a me or something) when I use the keyboard 10 keys on my wireless (mouse and keyboard microsoft 1000 wireless) keyboard, the keyboard uses only features home, pageup, end, PG. FF.  I do a lot of work in the spreadsheet, and it is very inconveneint for not being able to use the 10-key pad.  Can anyone help me to reset my keyboard so the keyboard-10 is functional?

Your keyboard has a digital lock key [often just marked NumLock]?  If so based on it does nothing to change the problem?  So that you can address this issue immediately, look at control panel, keyboard to see if there is a way to permanently allow the pad [if that's what suits you] to avoid this problem in the future.

If it has no NumLock key then this can be achieved by the software & could inadvertently pressing keys that are its hotkey to toggle NumLock key on & off.  You will need to check the manual to see how to set / unset unless what information & control of adjustment are Control Panel keyboard.

  • Windows Wireless keyboard 3000 v2 multimedia keys works only with Itunes.

My room, then move on to the previous song, Skip to follow and stop the keys on my keyboard don't work for Itunes.

I have the latest version of Itunes and intellitype pro and Windows 7 64-bit.

They keys seem to work perfectly well with Windows media player, but not iTunes. ITunes is also set as the default program for music.

I also tried the solution involving a file called mmkeys.dll, and put this file in the material master record of the ins.

Before when I had vista 32 bit and an older version of intellitype pro, I change songs, pause, stop, at any time, even when running full-screen programs. Once I upgraded however, it stopped working.

Please help, this is really boring.

    Compensatory salvation,

As the keyboard works very well with Windows Media Player, and it does not work with iTunes, so maybe that's a problem with iTunes installed on the computer.

You can try uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes on your computer and check if that helps you.
