• Identify any items in the project window?

  I don't know if it is within the limits of what AE script can do, but is there a way to identify all types of layer in the project exclusively window? I essentially tries to grab the item, check if it has certain properties, and then use that to identify what kind of point is (IE record sound, video, adjustment layer etc...).

  This code is pretty rudementary and obviously missing things, but it's the general substance of what I'm trying to do. I need an easy way to accurately identify all the elements in the project window.

  For items, you can not check if it is used as a solid, adjustLayer, etc. Because an item can be used more than once, how can we know the layers from the same source has the same parameters, such as adjustmentLayer or nullLayer?

  Regarding the types of layer, a part of my script that save info from any layer of file based on xml and create new layers from this file can be useful for you.

• Deleted items of the project, but still on display on the timeline

  While archiving of a project in CS5.5, I first clicked "delete unused ' to cut down on the weight of the dead. Curiously, it removed ALL my clips of images. Even more strange is the fact that nothing shows as "offline". The timeline still plays with all the elements that were in it. When I select a clip in the timeline panel and click on "Reveal in project", it can not because there is absolutely no video footage in the project window. There are no views either, for the whole timeline has a red bar, and selection to "Remove files restore" is not yet available because it has not noticed.

  I went ahead and did a "collect files and copy to the new location. The sequences are intact with clips showing, but there is absolutely no clips of AVI (Cineform) in the folder 'copied '.

  If I is not support for a component in the Assembly and rename it, I start over body and clip shows offline. So there is still a reference media, even without a clip to make it in the project window. And no, the part of my project is not filtered.
  

  The problem would be a specific problem of the project if you are not able to replicate on a new project.

  Just the file of the project which has been corrupted.

  Hello, I have a lot of assets in my project Panel I need to open one at a time inside the source, preferably without having to always go to the mouse any time.

  I can't find the correct shortcut on the various lists of Adobe shortcuts for this very common feature.

  Am I missing something?

  If shortcuts shift + # are useful in their own right - they are used to focus a particular Panel, at least by their designation by default - they are not what you are looking for in this case.

  Try this instead:

  

  Furthermore, a simple way to get a list of all the possible shortcuts in one place is to hold down the Shift key and control (I think that command on Mac) and go to Edition > customization of the keyboard. This will reveal an Easter egg from button in the dialog box titled "> Clipboard." If you click here, then go to a text editor and use the Paste command, you will get all the shortcuts and their current mappings in a long text document. Because you cannot search for a given command in the keyboard customization dialog box, but you can in a text document, it is at least a way to discover new possibilities of keyboard shortcuts that might otherwise be found.

• Removed some source files to clean up the project, ended up remove the clips in my sequence. I thought it would just appear as "media offline". Any way to recover them?

  I'm working on a big project and I had multiples of a lot of source files.  I deleted the duplicates in the interest to consolidate and clean up all this.  Warning messages jumped upwards, I could delete the files that were used, but in the past, he's always just showed up as "media disconnected", so I wasn't worried.  Now I'm looking through some of these sequences, and a lot of the clips are just disappeared completely.  Is it possible to recover?  Because she auto-enregistre, the new version of the project file has already been registered with all missing items.  I can't just Ctrl-Z it.  Help, please!   In Premiere Pro, if you delete a file at the OS level, you will see Offline media, but the issue real clip will remain in your order - offline, of course. However, if you remove items in the project Panel, which is what it looks like you could have done - all article clip to sequence that refer to these elements is also deleted. This is why they are called 'master clips,' because they determine the aspect and the existence of all the clips and the sub-items created from them.

  Assuming you have AutoSave enabled, you must have at least a few versions of your project that you could come back, hopefully before deletion. Look in the folder specified for your project AutoSave and find one just prior to the date and time when you did the deletion. You will probably want to make a copy of this and paste it into your main project folder, so that all the media links remain the same, and then open it. If all that was missing is back, you ready to move forward; If not, check out some of your other backup automatically.

• audio previews from the project window?

  I hate to admit it, but I can't figure out how to preview audio files in the project (CS5) AE window.  In older versions, I was able to simply double-click on an audio file and play - and I am able to preview images, but not audio video in the project window and fixed (when I double-click on audio files, an image window opens, but when I hit space, nothing happens, as opposed to video footage, which plays when I hit the space bar).

  The only way I can understand to listen to audio clips is to place it on a timeline the comp - but this is a bit boring and ineffective.  I know that there must be a simple answer, but I can't understand it.  When I check the help files, it just says how to obtain an overview of the timeline, not the project window.

  By pressing the space bar is never a way to listen to audio clips in After Effects.

  All the methods mentioned on this page to preview audio work in film Panel and the timeline panel.

  So, if you double-click an audio footage item in the project Panel to open it in the footage Panel, you can then use RAM Preview or audio clip only to listen to the audio.

• When you use the project manager to copy a project and its files why do the resulting files to appear stretched?

  I attributed to a portable drive as destination, said the Manager to copy the files to preview as well. The images appear normal until this that copied; Open the newly copied project gives me unwanted horizontal stretch. Source file was a H264/MOV of a dslr transcoded in mxf.

  Thanks much for the advice. Management/copy of video projects is new territory for me.

  All I can think is to right click on the source item in the project Panel, and then select Edit | Film and back to square pixels.

  I don't know why or how it is possible for that to happen. Very strange.

• Reset to point to the clips in the project

  I was under the assumption that the items in the project Panel were the main elements (original not without effects) and by dragging to the timeline creates new versions of the master clips as subclips.

  I have hundreds of clips in my project Panel that caught the points of entry and the previous cut.  How can I reset this for that drag these clips to the timeline add all the clips... not a cut version.  I can deal with each element individually and to extend the entry points and but is not something I want to do hundreds of clips.

  I don't know if this has been answered, because the wire is long enough, but you CAN reset it in/out points for clips in the project. It was a feature of 7.0.1. To do this, you simply select the clips in the project Panel and press the shortcut key for clear in or out (Opt i/o) or clear in AND out (Opt X).

  This error should only appear when you use a list item with the type list of the combobox value. A combobox in forms is a listitem where you can also enter your own text. If you have need a drop-down list, on property liststyle poplist. It also works without patch. If you really need the combobox, patch.

  On Mac, you might be able to simulate a "right-click" holding the key Ctrl key while clicking. In other cases a long-press can simulate a right-click.

  If none of those that suits you, you can use the Customize and drag the items on the toolbar on the menu or in the box with the other unused icons. This article should help you get started: Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars.

• Automator: using a text file to set several items from the finder?

  I have a text file that contains multiple entries for files and folders, each on a separate line. I want to dragndrop this file on an automator action, he should ask me a destination folder and then copy all the files and folders in this folder.

  How can I make this work with multiple entries?

  The problem is that you only pass the only element to the copy action (you have copied text), instead of an element for each line (paragraph) in the text.  The solution is to use the action filter paragraphs to break up along the borders of paragraph text, which will give you a list of items.  In addition, you do not necessarily have to use TextEdit or the Clipboard - If you already have a file somewhere, you can simply use the action to combine text files to read the text.

  With the above modifications, your workflow should look like:

  Ask the Finder items  (ask for a destination folder)

  Set the value of the Variable  (Destination)

  Ask the Finder items  (Download text files) - set the action to ignore the entry

  Combine text files  (read the text files)

  Filter paragraphs  (paragraphs which are not empty return)

  Copy the items to the Finder  (at Destination)
