Ok. So, I got this labtop that I threw in my closet because it has stopped working, I tried to use new and this blue screen with the error code, recently STOP: 0x000000ED (0x8A930900, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) I fergot my admin password recover so it is almost impossible with the start of the CD. Help please?

So, if you have not the administrator password, only you can do - disassemble the HARD drive of your laptop, insert it into another computer and run the CHKDSK command from the command prompt:

CHKDSK x: /f

where x: is the HARD drive volume

    Day before yesterday, I had to close the office without disconnection.  I've done it before.  This time, when I tried to connect a blue screen appears saying: "a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer"? !!!  Just before my stop, AVG Security had run Security Scans 'ALL' and 'all' was very good.  In addition, Microsoft Windows updated my system as well.  AVG Security scan preset for 14:00 daily and updates to Microsoft Windows preset to 15:00 daily.

    It drives me crazy.  I can't come back, even after following all the procedures, then "safe mode" F8, etc.. ??? !!!

    0x000000ED and UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME means that your hard drive starts to do not (or has not) - I understand your financial situation (as I was once unemployed two years) but unfortunately I can't recommend you don't use your system for awhile until you can save up enough money for a computer technician to clone your entire hard drive to a new. If you continue to try to use your system, this means your hard drive can completely fail, then your only chance to recover personal files would be done by a specialist in data recovery - and they are very rarely affordable.

    I doubt that last good Configuration know you will help (this is not what it is for) and if you say that you can not boot mode safe (of course), none of these other "methods" will help you to either - this isn't the problem.

    What a pity that it knows absolutely nothing about your system.  This is because the MS Answers forum does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

    My niece has a netbook that it turns off in the middle of the Windows form with the flag and the blue line "forced" down while he was starting the system.  Now, he's not going beyond the start menu.  I tried every method of starting, including disable restart auto and other suggestions.  I posted the error code when we finally got a blue screen with an error code itself.  It doesn't have a hard drive to boot from the CD.  I don't have an external CD/DVD drive to boot to leave or perform a recovery.  It is not any kind of recovery.

    Any suggestions?  It is running XP.  Only screens I could get are the BIOS Boot Menu screens and the blue screen with the error. During some of these different methods of starting, he works through things page as it is starting, but then freezes.

    Safe mode will not help you.

    You can usually fix this by running chkdsk/r of the XP Recovery Console, but to do this, you will have to start on something.

    If you use a recovery partition, you will eliminate all you have.

    Before the recovery operation (if it works at all), you could save all your personal data, but this will require that you copy off to an external device somewhere (but you cannot start, right?).

    You can buy an external CD/DVD drive for about $40 or less (this can be a good investment).

    You can take the machine to a shop where they attach an external CD/DVD drive and run chkdsk/r for you.  When you leave, everything will probably be mysterious excuses and you do not have an external CD/DVD drive.

    You can remove the drive and it slave in another machine and chkdsk /r on (too complicated).

    You could make a bootable USB drive with XP on it - Recovery Console if your system supports (too complicated).

    If you have no real XP bootable installation CD, you can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and be on your way... but you have to start on something.

    Bite the bullet.  Stop messing around.  Shop for an external CD/DVD drive, your problem and be on your way.  Then you will have an external CD/DVD drive to use on any machine you want in the future.

    Then, train your staff on the ramifications of eating off the system when it is not the right time to power off.

    If you do not have the diskettes of Windows startup or a Windows installation disc (most people don't), will not cross you method 1, step 1 in this KB article.

    You need to boot your PC in the Recovery Console.

    Once you are in the recovery at the command prompt Console, type:

    CHKDSK c: /r

    Break-in. Allow chkdsk to fix the volume.

    If you used the power button or similar, it looks like your NTFS file system is corrupted, but you can usually fix it by running a chkdsk/r from the XP Recovery Console.
