Stop: 0x7E - blackout

Well, I think that today may have been the last day for my old Dell Dimension E510...

I just finished a full scan of my system using Malwarebytes (which never gave me any problem for the last year...), and had it remove tracking cookies a couple who would not pick up my other active virus protection system, when my system gave me the blue screen with the following stop:

STOP: 0X0000007E (0 X 80537008, 0XBACC3388, 0XBACC3084)

Anything after it... No driver ads, nothing.
I tried to restart it, but he throws just to the top of the blue half screen about one second after the Windows loading bar appears.  The strange thing is that I swapped my HDD Seagate standard out for a newer version that I had bought, that does not have windows installed on it.  I get the same problem if... Blue screen after a short image of the Windows loading bar.

I tried to go into safe mode, but it stops and freezes once it lists all the drivers that it loads.  Startup of the last good configuration is the same as just try to start normally.  The problems start, though, when I try to start on my Windows XP installation CD.  He hesitated a moment and then wrote:

Selected the not available boot device-
strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for Setup utility.

Try to reboot from there looks exactly the same, and everything in the BIOS Setup is set correctly.  I tried everything... Reset the power, not surprisingly, has nothing, no more that pull the MOBO battery... can't think of his name right now.

Well, I'm open to almost anything now.  This computer has served me well for years past, and perhaps I have just used it... I hope not.  Any help at all would be appreciated.  It can't really get much worse is it right now.  Oh and while I'm at it, is sorry for any typo; the keyboard on this laptop is impossible to type on...

Thank you.

Then your motherboard is probably a failure. Since you say that it is an old machine, it's time to enter your data off the hard drive and send the computer in the recycling center. It is not worth to spend money replacing the motherboard. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • STOP 0X7E and rolling restart after Windows update

    Hello

My apologies if this has been covered before.  I did a search and have not seen this covered.

I'm working on HP zv6000 laptop computer a parent with Windows XP Home Edition.  I do not have the recovery disks that may have come with it, and there is no recovery/repair hard disk partition.  Sometime in early January, after a reboot due to the installation of the updates of Windows, he went in a rolling start scenario.  After several attempts, I got to the screen automatic reboot temporarily disabled and advanced boot options.  The error it gives is:

STOP 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x89891E7A, 0xF78DA7B0, 0xF78DA4C) parameters with.  No module name is given after the error message.

The laptop does not start in safe mode.  It restarts after loading mup.sys.  I don't know which module occurs after that in the boot sequence, which told me a lot.

I suspect a driver issue, but do not know how to proceed from here.  I can get into the recovery console via a XP Pro CD and can start with a BartPE disk.

Can I turn off the drivers of one of these means?  If so, how do you identify which those who have been installed around January 9?   Once identified, is debilitating as simple as move or rename the driver file?

    Thanks for your suggestions!

    All,

The problem has been resolved by doing a repair of the Home CD from the manufacturer of the Windows XP installation.  It restored the laptop to XP SP2 status.  I installed the SP3 and later updates, but refused to install 3 updates of pilot.  Everything seems to work OK.

I uninstalled all the stuff of Logitech, webcam, mouse, microphone, then connected Ipad to PC success. all is well in my world of Ipad. • Weird STOP: 0x0000007E crash

I read the other STOP 0x7E blue screen problems and they do not match mine. Many of them are called a USB audio driver problem. Mine is directly connected to my WD My Book Essential external hard drive. I know because computers crash and enter the blue screen whenever I plug the hard drive via USB. My desktop or laptop do the same whenever the drive is connected. Normally I would call it quits and just buy a new, but we're talking about 2 tablespoons soup. I want to get back them, if possible.

How it happened, it of that I plugged into my Xbox One initially and used to store games. I plugged it in to the laptop two days ago because I wanted to go back to the original format file system. I wasn't just grace it enough to justify wasting 2 tablespoons. I downloaded the program discussed in this thread...

    http://Digiex.NET/guides-reviews/console-guides/Xbox-one-guides/13584-copy-extract-content-Xbox-one-USB-formatted-drive-Windows-PC.html

... and used it to the external hard drive in what is referred to as "PC Mode", so that the laptop could read the disc. Drive letters will be not even appear on your file system until you do this, because it is formatted for the Xbox One. After a successful implementation in PC Mode, I got the USB and plugged in. Since then it has been crashing whenever I plug. If I restart the laptop or desktop with USB plugged in, it will be stuck in a boot loop until I have unplug the unit. I have a couple minidumps, I included below. I would be grateful any real solution for this problem.

    https://www.sendspace.com/file/i7bacj

I discovered a solution. For those interested, I had to start GParted Live and reformat the hard disk.

Regarding the last Counsellor who told me to update the driver, who was the first thing I tried. It is, when you start the driver installation, it asks you to plug in the hardware that will crash your computer immediately.

  • Blue Screen of Death. STOP error 0x0000007E + things I've tried.

A bit of history. I run a MSI 890XM-G65 and the installation manual can be found at http://www.msi.com/service/
I use a Radeon HD 6870 graphics card.
    A SATA HARD DRIVE.

So. Since I got the BSOD (the o death blu screen), these are the steps I've tried:
I started pressing F8 and tried to start a repair. BSOD appears.
I started pressing F8 and tried "Run with the last configuration that worked", same thing.
I changed my boot on CD/DVD in BIOS and tried from my Windows install disc, BSOD appears.
I tried to delete my graphics (Radeon) card and attached monitor to the on-board, BSOD arises.
I tried to use one of my RAM sticks GSKILL (two, distinct moments by themselves) and tried in different locations. I also borrow a new KINGSTON DDR3 ram friends and tried is separately, BSOD appears at reboot.

I also went through the manual to make sure that all power cords are plugged in etc.

    The error is:
STOP error 0x0000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_ STOP 0x7E error means that a system thread threw an exception that the error handler did not. STOP code 0x0000007E may also display the SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_ «»

    Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: (look for the BIOS and driver
    updates.)

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on
your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed:
load address of the driver, description, version, name of the product, the company that
    created the pilot and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit system Maker as replacements and manufacturer device which are the
most up-to-date. Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - write it down
and complete the model of your video - double click - tab of the driver card-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
that MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT it
    will update the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so to install a driver - restart
-check that it is installed and try again if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

  • Blue screen (more of a gel to a blue screen) BCCode124

For some time I get random freezes, sometimes when the games, sometimes on the desktop with nothing open, sometimes when not in the room. Each time however, I am not greeted with a BSOD, but after a reboot, I get the blue screen information.

After doing quite a few search and replacing a hard drive, I'm now going to ask for help.

    BCCode: 124
    BCP1: 0000000000000000
    BCP2: FFFFFA8006B04748

    OS version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 768_1

The operating system has been installed in 2010, and I got errors for almost a year now.

    List of equipment of change:

    New HARD drive

    New processor

    New Wifi dongle

    New GFX card

The CPU is an ebay item and the graphics card was all new from Amazon. I started having problems shortly after their adaptation and they were the first hardware changes, I did.

The hard drive has been changed as one of the 2 discs I was using at the time began to fail and threw blue screens. As it is no longer in the system I can exclude this one.

I replaced the dongle wifi due to questionable wireless connectivity but it was down to the router that has also been replaced and works well again.

    System Specs:

350W POWER supply (it's one of the possibilities of the blue screens, I think)

    CPU Q8200 is not overclocked

6 GB DDR3 1600 mhz ram running at 1333 mhz

    ASUS P5E3 pro mobo (x 48 chipset)

HARD drive is a WD black 1 TB

1 GB gDDR5 Nvidia GTX750 (even if it isn't old, it's my other suspect)

    Win 7 SP1 Home premium 64-bit

I used the GPU, CPU and RAM, software and all tests have run for hours without any error or omission.

I have a couple other odd goings on too which could carry on blue screens.

I play a racing game works perfectly on a clean boot. I put into hibernation every night (no sleep) and after a hibernation (not all the time) hosting edge of pings for only one game but other games constantly low pings. After a reboot it works fine again.

Second strange thing, start another game works perfectly on a clean place and most of the time after hibernation, but sometimes short super slow (it is a child of 15 years not graphically intense game) and sometimes well running too fast.

My thoughts here are the drivers do not work properly and can contribute to accidents. All of the opinions and suggestions are welcome. If you need more info, just ask. I work in tech support for a living and it's confusing to me. I reinstall normally, but after 6 years its amazing how much junk you accumulate.

    Thanks in advance

It seems that the nvidia drivers cause the stop 0x7e error

I would uninstall CPUZ, its files are 6-7 years

This pcouffin.sys file is 10 years. It may belong to DVDfab. Update or uninstall. Old drivers can crash windows. Possible this file / program is causing an accident

This SCDEmu.SYS file is 6 years old. PowerISO. Update or uninstall. It's up to 6.6

It seems that daemontools has been installed? Since this c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys file is on the hard drive

Download and then run this option to remove c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys

It is possible daemontools or c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys is one cause of this stop error 0 x 124

Hello J.Sharkey, try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:
