Help, please...

Hi Saedrb,

I suggest to run chkdsk /f /r from the Windows Recovery console and check if that helps you solve the problem. This command will try to find and repair files on the hard drive. Once the chkdsk attempts to boot to the desktop and check if it helps.

Go to the link below to learn more about running chkdsk in Windows XP.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

  • Satellite A55-S106 A:/ghost error when using recovery discs to reinstall the OS

I have a Toshiba Satellite A55-S1065 that I recently replaced the hard drive, and when I try to use the recovery disks it keeps failing at various points with the A:/ghost error, even if this machine is not a drive A

I really need help can anyone?

    Hello

Have you used a compatible HDD and supported?
A bit of problems of recovery happens sometimes due to hard drives not supported.

In any case, in my experience, new hard disks must be formatted too.
The Toshiba Recovery CD contains only an image file and I would recommend formatting the HARD drive, first with the help of another like WinXP or Linux bootable CD...

    Welcome them

I really need help, I'm afraid something will happen to my computer, so is there someone who knows something about this kind of problem?

    Grateful for your help.

    Hi putte32,

To be honest I never received this error before but it sounds like that recovery creator disc doesn t work properly... You should try a HDD recovery to restore the factory settings. Maybe you are able to create the recovery disk.

Otherwise, I would contact an authorized service provider. If you can t create the recovery disk, the guy should be able to help you to complete this procedure.

  • Get the HP G62 with empty HARD drive with a recovery disc

    I currently have a HP g62-a46se model.

Due to some problems that I met, I removed the BONES together with the HP recovery Partition (I think because I don't know what happened) and everything else on the HARD drive so now the drive is completely empty. I made the backup drives but when I run them they say "this recovery media cannot be used on this PC.

Pls Help. as I have no idea on how to restore the computer as long as the plant...

If your number was referring to this warranty, then you have three ways to resolve this.

Buy a HP recovery media or HP partner. This is the inexpensive way.

The expensive is to buy a supported Microsoft Windows operating system installation disc.

Install a free Linux distribution. He gets not any cheaper than this. Download and use for free.

  • Error with product recovery. Now, does not start. Satellite Pro A40

    Hello

I tried to use my product recovery cd to reinstall windows so that the computer is in "like -new" condition However, when you use a disk and 25% step it crashed on saying me that it couldn't read the disc. Now, when I try to boot, it says ' Please insert system disk and press a key "I do, but I just get the same message repeated. This is if I try to book it from the cd or the hard drive.

What is my next step, how can I pick up my computer!

    See you soon

Hmmm it's not easy to say why you t could not complete the installation. For me, it seems that the recovery CD is defective.

In any case, the message said that no BONES were found on the HARD drive and the laptop cannot start!
While do I think you should insert an original Windows XP CD and try to boot from the CD. The XP CD should format the HARD drive and install the new OS.

Sorry, but I put t see another possibility.

  • Re: Satellite P300 - replacement HARD drive with no recovery discs

    Hi all

I came to the conclusion that my HARD drive has failed. (PXE-E61error) now seeks to replace.

Unfortunately I didn't create a recovery CD, and even if I did, my windows (label) key is unreadable.

He comes, if I replace the HARD drive, to buy a new copy of windows, can I simply start from the CD, install windows on the new HARD disk, and then install the drivers from the Web from Toshiba site or what I need to buy recovery CD?

    Model - PSPCCA-05Y01Y

I had to spend an hour or so scouring Google and the forum, but to no avail.

Thanking you in advance for your help.

Yes, you can do it. Install the version of Windows. All the drivers, tools and utilities that you can download from the Toshiba support page - http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/download

This machine has been delivered with Vista, but I recommend you to install Win7. It works perfectly and very stable on this machine.

  • Hard Drive failed with no recovery disc

I'm working on a h8 desire - 1417c. My client had a catastrophic hard drive failure and after replacing the same, I can't have Windows 8 to activate. I spent over an hour on the phone with Microsoft and they couldn't activate it, either. I have the product key from the bios, that's all right. Why MS do not block the key once it has activated the first time? The client is blocked to buy recovery disks? Thank you.

I spent a few hours on the phone with Microsoft and they have finally capitulated and sent me a copy the retail 8 Win and the new product key. They access the system remotely and could not activate the installation with the built-in key. Yes, problem solved. It was not easy.

My wireless light does not illuminate. The network adapter driver does not install from the recovery of the driver CD.

    PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8176 & CC_028000

    PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8176 & CC_0280

    Thank you

    You are the very welcome.

It does not sound like a heat problem.

I don't know a lot about the repair of hardware issues beyond replacement memory and hard drives.

I could try to clean the area of fan/radiator with a can of compressed air and see if that clears any dust that may accumulate.

To do this, disconnect the laptop from the AC adapter and remove the battery.

Insert a rod through the air fan to keep the blades turning when you spray air.

Spray through the air intake fan and watch to see the dust out of the exhaust.

Repeat once or twice and blow air from the other direction of the drain line to the fan.

The other driver, you need is the driver of protection Protectsmart hard.

    See if it works.

  • How to fix cryptographic stopped working error with Vista SP2

I get this error message on all 10 minutes.  At the beginning it was just an annoyance, but I just realized that I can't do updates, update my IE version and now, somehow really weird, some sites such as Gmail site, will not open in Internet Explorer (but they will be in Safari).

I tried to rename the Catroot2 directory, I tried to restart cryptographic several times just to get the error again and I scan SFC.  I had a file that could not be repaired called azroleui.dll.  I tried to download another copy of this dll, but even if logged in as an administrator, I can't move, delete to rename this file.
Any suggestions?  I'm afraid to try a reload of Vista in case this problem prevents me to do as well.

  • STOP: c000021a {fatal system error} during shutdown

I have Windows XP SP3 running on an old laptop Asus L2000 who remains perfectly functional.

Whenever I stopped him, this BSOD stop: c000021a {fatal system error} and something on the logon process terminated unexpectedly pop and the laptop just stays on like that until I hit the button to power only, then it will turn off. In the contrary case, the laptop runs normally.
I looked everywhere but nothing is done, nobody gives never a direct response to how which and where to fix the problem.
This problem started after a process of full consolidation (anti-virus, registry and the batch recovery) after an escape of the virus. Now the system is clean.
Is there a particular way or procedure to get rid of this problem?

  • Sudden appearance of error STOP C000021A after automatic update of Windows

Everyone knows a sudden STOP errors after that update Microsoft has done for his actions in the background? I'm setting up a SL500 for a client who has crashed all of a sudden with a STOP C000021A error. This error number (and the minidump file) point about csrss.exe crashing. The machine is no longer usable in 'normal' mode but it does not start in "safe" mode A review of the microsoft update log file reports the accident happening right after that the update ran. Before I nuke XP and opt for a restore to factory (as well as reinstall/configuration) I would like to know if others have seen this happen recently.

In response to my own question here: I managed to do that work again. It turns out that the automatic update is more or less malware Microsoft's "Office Genuine Advantage". Remember, once again, why people accept this type of behavior of a business entity... No, not only to accept but reward in continuing to do business with them. Something in the water maybe?

  • How to match license of the recovery disc (OEM XP Pro) comes with a computer to this computer?

I inherited the task of managing computers ten here in our small office. Each comes with a recovery disc that contains an installation of XP Pro OEM program. Unfortunately, not all disks are labeled so I don't know what units delivered with what machines. Over the years, some of the machines have died which means we have installers more than machines. I want to assure you that I have the license correct correspondence to the correct computer. Is it possible to do? Is it possible to review the installer and see what license it will use will be and then look at the computer and determine the currently installed license on it? Thank you!

MS has a software in-house, which allows to identify any key given - and say with what channel it was issued, when it was issued and first activated, how many times it is activated, etc.

What they cannot do, is be specific about which she turned on because the database (optional) record is completely separated from the database of Activation (required).

This software is not available to the outside (for obvious reasons)

  • Satellite U400 - how to return to the format of partition with HDD Recovery

    Hello

I bought a new notebook Satellite U400 with Vista Home preinstaled thereon.
I went through the initial configuration and once it was done, I realized that making the partitions of HARD drive does not fit my needs.

So I resised the partition of 'Vista' (acctually I shrunk it) and made the largest partition of 'Data'.
I did not do anything with the hidden partition.

Unfortunately, when I did this procedure I formatted the 'Data' partition.
Now, when I want to make the backup with TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator DVD I got the error message saying that it is not possible because I formatted the 'Data' partition.

Is there a suggestion how to fix this error?
The system's fine, the only thing is that I'm not able to save and restore the operating system.

    Thanks Vecerka

It wasn't good buddy. If you deleted the partition of HARD drive recovery, then you would not be able to restore it!

Now, you need a new DVD of recovery!
You can order using this Toshiba page:

I haven't changed anything on the HARD drive! How can I create my recovery disk?

I did a lot of experiences with Vista preinstalled fees and this message is the folder with the recovery image is missing. Is the folder and the data is gone.
