Stop error - Satellite M70

Hello

Since the installation of explore 7, an error message occurs always stopping my M70-148. This problem could be solved by updating a driver?

Hello

Can you tell us more about this error message? I have Satellite M70-159 and use IE7 for a long time without any problem.

It has something to do with .NET Framework or something similar?

(view) I even downloaded the new drivers on the internet and they WORKED!

But when I try next time to open my computer all the time, I get a blue screen then it stops? What's wrong? I have everything is original and I followed the step. What should I do?

    Hello

Someone get this similar error on OS s book and according to the information the Microsoft hotfix helps to sort.

Found this useful knowledge base article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;835221

This document reviews for install the fix KB835221 but that is no longer officially available in dialogue with Microsoft technical support!
But don t worry buddy. The Google search is the key!
Try to search for this KB835221 hotfix and I m sure that you find the right one!

The UAA drivers needed in Microsoft documents are not included with XP SP2 or SP1, so it is a QFE handy to have around if you want to use more recent sound as the Realtek HD Audio cards.

PS: If the Q835221 did not help then you can also try the driver updated to Microsoft Q888111 article, which has 4 versions depending on your operating system and installed service pack.

    Good luck!

    Hello

Sorry, but it is not easy to offer so just answer. If I tell you that I can't start my car and ask you why you will probably say the same thing.

I put t know what you are doing with your laptop, but the fact is that after installing the Toshiba recovery image, everything should work although on my Satellite M70-159.
So, I guess that you install your own operating system. Am I right about that?

If so please use the instructions facilities document and follow this order of the facilities.

By the way: you have extracted the files downloaded on the HARD drive and from there began to setup.exe?

I don't know if it's fixable and that's what I have to do. I also said that when you replace a HARD disk I need a recovery disk.

I reside in Cyprus and don't have is not easy access to the shops of style PC big supermarket.

I was wondering if I could use a generic HDD and if so is there a particular one that I need to acquire?

    Also

where would I go to get a recovery disk?

I got the laptop I can't afford to buy a new one at the moment and it is still in very good condition apart from the above-mentioned problems!

I wish that all the advice on what type of HARD drive, I would need or is available - rough cost so I don't get ripped off and if we change the disk HARD is as easy as I read. Also where I should go to get a recovery disc and if that's all I need to fix the laptop.

Thank you very much in advance for any help I can get.

    > The laptop does turn on - is it possible to make a recovery of a damaged laptop disk

How do you do if you can't turn on the laptop?

What you could do is to remove the HARD drive, then place it into the drive enclosure HARD 2.5 external, then connect the HARD drive to another computer, to save the data.

In my opinion this is what you could do

  • Satellite A100 - recovery will not be finished and stop error message occurs

I have updated the BIOS to 2.20 and laptop was working fine. The old installation of Windows factory has worked well.
After a few weeks, I tried to use the recovery disk to remove the noise from the HARD drive.
The recovery of disk task completed and the computer restarted.
I got the stop error message

I am able to boot in dos with a separate boot disk (Dr. back, windows does not start, not even in the safe control mode) and I did chdsk of the disc and disc is fine.

I've never used before recovery disc, the only thing different is BIOS 2.20 instead of 1.50.

    Hello

The A100-S2211TD doesn t support the Intel Chipset!
This laptop was equipped with the ATI graphics card and the graphics driver on the Toshiba page contains us the graphics driver and chipset driver!

Have you received 100% good recovery CD?

In your case I would try to install Win XP from the Microsoft CD to check if the same error would appear if no drivers are included in the CD of the OS.

    Check it out

  • Satellite M70 cannot stop

I bought my Satellite M70 in February 2007. It had been nice up to a weeks ago. I can't stop normally again.
He can't even switch to standby or Hibernate mode. It crashes with blue screen. The cursor moves on the screen but nothing else does not work once the blue screen appears.

The only option that remains for me is to press the power button to turn off. It works normally if started again, but will not stop. I have a lot of data on it, so I don't want to use the recovery CD. Pls how to fix SAT without reformatting. Thank you

    Hello Bob

None of us can say for sure why this happens, and you can't wait for a magic solution. What we do here, it's just to speculate why this happen. In my opinion, a background program block system and used to stop. Who knows what applications you have installed in the past few months, but I'm sure one of them is responsible for this.

If possible, save all your data to external HARD disk or a second partition. Use the installation in expert mode and install the recovery image on the partition c. after installation of clean operating system everything works OK again.

If you don't want to do it try to remove all the latest applications installed and make your system clean. I also recommend you use a registry cleaner application. You can find many of them on the net.

    Good bye

I have the latest drivers, the latest version, I disabled the wifi MS. program control... nothing. !!!
Is not a big problem, wifi works, but it seems a troublesome BUG for Toshiba...

  • question of ati2dvag on Satellite M70 - error blue screen

Hello im hoping someone can help me with these problems I have. Well one day to start up my computer I is no longer boot into normal mode and having to use safe mode, the computer changes the display on its own and goes down to 16 bit color, when I restart my computer suspended unless I have start in safe mode and then other times I get the black screen saying I choose SafeMode shape etc. When I load secure form mode it starts right away and then I restart to return to normal mode it hooked to black screen, but if I'm not in safe mode it takes forever to initialize. The blue screen that appears shows the following...

The device driver got stuck in an infinate loop. This usually indicates problems with the device itself or with the incorrect programming hardware device driver.
Please check with your hardware device vendor updates the driver.

    STOP: 0X000000EA (0X866563B0, 0XF7CA2CB4, 0X86605C38, 0X00000001)

My laptop is Satellite M70, XP Home SP2. ATI X 700 video card is.

I tried to uninstall display driver, no help. I even tried formatting HARD drive and reinstalled XP Home with recovery from recovery DVDs, worse yet, I can't even finish the recovery process, it is always hung when starting Windows, and then even a blue screen... More as soon as the load of windows xp, the screen has very low resolution with several vertical lines distributed evenly on the screen...

Unfortunately, I think that you have to return your laptop to the point of service.

    > The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop
To me, this looks like a corrupt graphics card.

I think there is not much to do and ask the help of the technician.

    Hey Buddy,

I m a bit confused now... Do you have Windows 7 or Windows XP?

If you miss some drivers after installing XP, why you update the BIOS?

As far as I know Satellite L500 is supported by Windows XP if you can download all the missing drivers and tools of Toshiba's official website:

  • Satellite M70 stops suddenly: fan?

    Hey,.
As of today, my Satellite M70 suddenly stops while I work.
I checked the forum here, and I guess it is a heating problem.
When I looked at the opening of the fan, I saw that the coating was broken...
And the fan itself does not seem to work either...
It must have been some kind of accident.
The regular warranty covers these things?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I think you are right and the machine is overheating.
To get this repaired your only chance is a Toshiba service partner.

Unfortunately, this kind of damage must be the result of some kind of hit on the laptop.
And normally it is not covered by the warranty.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M70: HARD drive not recognized external - various XP error messages

    Hi all

I have a Satellite M70 and I have a Western Digital external hard drive.
Initially, it worked great, I was able to put my large collection of music, etc. on it and run a computer off to save space on my integrated HD.

But recently I had problems with XP not recognizing HD or be able to write in it. It appears in my computer, then disappear, often randomly when I write new files to it.
I reformatted the hard drive to NTFS as it ran originally as FAT32.

I updated my BIOS as well, but I'm out of ideas.

Anyone else had similar problems with XP?

    Thank you

    Will be

Have you thought about external HARD drive failure?
Perhaps failure of HARD drive and, therefore, it cannot be recognized correctly.

  • Satellite M70-192 - question of HARD drive replacement

    Hello...

It's just my first time to ask for help in this forum... and besides, in any forum on the whole wide net.
So, sorry if am don't do this right... that's...

My brother bought a laptop (Toshiba Satellite M70 - 192 psm71e-01k00rar) of the Kuwait around 2006. A few months ago we started hearing "noise noise deaf deaf" - ing sound inside the camera and the screen is just deleted (there was an error message that is encrypted but I wasn't able to note it). I was able to boot from the DVD or USB drive. So I thought that maybe the hard drive has been the only problem.

I put in a new HARD drive (a 320 GB western digital scorpio wd3200bevt) and started to reinstall the system (I forgot which of the 2 supplied Toshiba cd I inserted first - media cd or the windows xp CD-ROM) but in the middle of installing the keyboard area was so hot that I unplugged / stop the laptop immediately.

After that, the HARD drive has become invisible to any Linux or rescue CD or utility of HARD drive that I tried to boot from... (fortunately?) The said HDD vendor as the HARD wd scorpio drive + really + defective and they replaced...

    * now the questions: * I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd scorpio *(.55 amp) *. Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?
    Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
How can I _properly_ replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?

Please note that before I bought the new HARD drive, I ve read somewhere in the "net I could use a disk sata2 on a sata1 controller, etc. + * pls help!" * +

Toshiba services are simply too expensive for me right now if will send it (cell phone) in a licensed shop. Why I'm in DIY mode that s. I don't think I can afford an another fried Scorpion!

    Thank you!
    yours,
    TAC

    > I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd Scorpion (.55 MPA). Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?

I don t think that a larger and faster HARD drive might be the reason for the higher internal temperature.
You said that you have heard and his strange "noise noise deaf deaf." Such sound could be created by the defective cooling module. A defective module could be responsible for the highest internal temperature

    > Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
    Here's your second thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=150272
You can see that the SATA2 is compatible to the bottom and the s SATA2 HARD drive would work with common controller SATA HDD.

    > How can I properly replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?
Replacing the HARD drive is not difficult. I see that you have already found the HARD drive Bay and bought a HARD drive.
In your case I recommend using the common SATA 2.5 HARD drive with 100 GB maybe 120 GB.

    Welcome them

  • Matsu * a DVD UJ - 841S cannot burn properly - Satellite M70

    Hello

I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M70.
The Dvd burner does not work. When I burn a CD for example, after a few minutes, the burn process stops with the error message. I have no problem with reading DVD and CD.

I think that the problem is due to the old drivers (2001) or the firmware.
I'm trying to install the new driver from the download area of Toshiba but I do not solve the problem.

It is possible to find new Matsu firmware * a DVD UJ - 841S?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I m sure this isn't a problem of an old firmware because I assume that your burned CD/DVD reader drives correctly in the past.
In addition, the European driver Toshiba page would provide a new firmware if the old firmware would be defective.

I think there are two possibilities; you have not used fully compatible CD or your CD/DVD drive starts to malfunction.
It would not be anything unusual because the s drive laser lens loses the own performance during the long period of use
However, you should test a few other drives from different manufacturers.
I had a good experience with discs CD - R TDKs
    Maybe you should try it.

  • Satellite M70 164 - screen freezes and goes black, overheating

    Hello world! :)

Recently my Satellite m70-164 started to freeze after only a few minutes of work. The picture on the screen freezes, and a few seconds later, it becomes completely black.
The computer doesn't even have time to warm up, and it's not stop... It's just the screen that freezes and becomes so black. I have to reset the computer by pressing the power button. (I write from another computer).

I noticed that working time reduced whenever I have reset the computer and after some time it freezes even though I am in the BIOS settings, so I don't think it's an OS problem.
Even if the computer does not have time to warm up, this suggests it might be a heat problem.
So I tried pointing a fan this is low (a big, like the ones we use in the summer), and it works without problem!

With the fan facing these, I reinstalled Windows - so no Virus.
Laptop fan * not * continue to operate as it is overheating.
The fan runs and it is not clogged as I've cleaned.

So if anyone has the same problem, or ideas, please respond!
    (And sorry for my English)
    Thanks in advance! : D

    Hey Buddy,

I agree with you. In this case, even in the BIOS, that it has nothing to do with Windows or a Virus. In this case, it seems to be a hardware malfunction

But before contacting an authorized service provider to diagnose what part is the cause, clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This should be done from time to time (every 4 months) and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.
