• How to collect usage data in vCloud using the API

  I am building an application that will configure the objects in vCloud using the RESTfull API. I hope that I will be able to provision vApps, org VDC and organizations to begin with.

  I would also like to use an API to collect data on the use of these funds resources, as well as other resources (networks, firewall, VPN, etc.) that could be put into service by the users directly from the portal vCloud. If I just want to get the usage data daily for all objects that have been configured programmatically, which of them would be the appropriate way to do it:

  • VCloud API
  • Metering of VMWare
  • VMWare Server Chargeback

  vCloud API would allow you to see what is.  That's why you need to program something to track changes over time at given intervals.

  Consumption meter track networks/barrier-lights/VPN, etc.  It follows the use license, not VM.  It is also only for VMware Virtualization Service Providers (VSPP).

  Chargeback will track the consumption of calculation (pCPU, Landau, storage) in a general sense.  But will not be followed for the use of the network (bandwidth) in certain situations.  It is not tracking firewalls & VPN use last I checked.

  Hi I have a bb10 application that collect usage data. It work propaply when it is on the store and my personal space of peripheral company.

  I used to get the use of the data as the sum of

  msm0, msm1, msm2, msm3, msm4, msm5, msm6, msm7 interfaces. And it was good.

  Now I push through BES application on my workspace. The problem is that I do not have access to these interface more.

  The interface only 3 I have now are lo0, lo2 and pflog

  LO2 give me the use of the data that consumed by the application running in the workspace, but it only gives me something on the use of the data consumed in personal space.

  How I verefied is playing a video in the workspace youyube, he loged in the use of the data. then I played the same video in personal space he connect anything.

  Any help please.

  I don't think that you can solve with a single application, as work and private space are separated.

  Can you try to make a vmotion host and see if it gets resolved? If not, can you close the virtual machine and start again? I have seen this problem before and a stop and start resolved.

  You can query the view of MGMT$ TARGET_PROPERTIES for the information.

  Ex:

  Select property_name, name

  Mgmt $ target_properties

  where target_name = "."

  and property_name in ('ComputerName', 'Port', 'SID', 'PreferredConnectString');

  Note: If a value (connection string) is set to "PreferredConnectString" as the connection string will be used.

  I get the error using repository variable date in filter expression. I use the formula below

  I'm trying to query CPU usage data in Virtual center 2.5 update 4, SQL server 2005, I can see via the performance tab, but is there another tool? If so they are Vmware tools or are they of the 3rd party tools? I can get suggestions please.

  I am new to the Labview and his community.  Asked me to acquire data on the measurement of the pressure using Labview.  I could build the code and got it working, but when I look at my data that has been collected, there no stopping point.  I just spent a lot of time looking at the data in the place where it begins and where it ends.  The question I ask is how to create a code to read the pressure, storage, in memory until there finishes, collect data and then to write in a .csv file.

  I use the NI USB-6009 case and hook upwards to ai0 and ai4.  See the attached code so uncertain.

  I want to record 100 data points and the system stops after these collection.

  You have a certain time which means your VI will continue to run until you press your button to stop the loop.

  The DAQ Assistant is already set to 100 samples.

  Just delete the while loop!

  We have a 3.5 ESX cluster running 4 host ESX and Virtual Center. The licensing is ESX Server standard edition. We are migrating to ESXi 4.1 vSphere and a new SAN. One of the issues that we are going through is because we are only in standard edition, we have no storage vmotion to migrate the virtual machines of data stores in the old SAN for data warehouses in the new San. Other than purchasing the add-on storage vmotion, what other options can I. I thought to add a new ESX 3.5 server to the cluster and make storage vmotion from this server while it is running trial license. I would probably need only a few days to storage vmotion on about 45 VMs. Please let me know if one were to do this or any other alternatives available.

• Storage VMotion for several data stores

  I'm looking for some advice and assistance with the help of the vSphere PowerCLI to SVMotions.

  I found that I can use virtual vmname Get-machine | Move-VM - datastore (Get-Datastore datastorename) that has worked very well and I was ready to roll. However, it occurred to me that I can only refer to a data store in the cmdlet and some of our virtual machines have their drives located on different data warehouses.

  So I set up a test VM with two disks of different data warehouses and began a SVMotion. The result was that it has migrated all disks in their separate data warehouses in a single folder on the target.

  What I need to be able to do is to migrate a disk and leave the other in its original location, or migrate two disks of different locations in two different places again. As you can do if you switch the machine virtual and migrate through the graphical interface, moving storage with advanced options (and probably what you can do via the graphical interface with the virtual machine in vSphere).

  I've got ESX 3.5 Update 5 with vCenter 2.5 update 6 If no GUI in VirtualCenter and the free snap option not taken in charge is not an option.

  Is there a way to do it with the PowerCLI or am I limited to migration the data store's unique virtual machine?

  I had to put the following parameter: IntradocServerPort = 4444

  When I ran my program I saw results in my table. Also, I do not see the warning...

  When I use the getItems operation and set the path to "/" and run the file, I get a single record with the record of the contribution.

  I notice in your links, you use links to set the path, so I think you want the user to go through the files and update the list when the user selects a folder, correct?

  To test your connection, set the path in your links to the getItems operation to / instead to your EL expression.
  If you have a result, that there is something wrong with your logic. If you do not see a result, there is something else wrong.

  For example, here are my links:

  What type of connection do you use? What is your type of socket RIDC in your area? Web, sleeve or socketssl?
