• Need tips on backup and storage for photo / audio

  I have an iMac of 2013 end 5 k. I do a lot of photography, treatment with Photoshop and Lightroom.

  When I bought the iMac, I also got a LaCie Little Big Disk. It's a quick series of PCIe SSD 1 TB super set pre-configured in RAID 0 mode, and it is completely silent. Certainly, it is a total overkill for photography work, but I was really happy with him... until he has filled.

  I use a separate 4 TB of HARD drive in an external enclosure from OWC for disk backup internal of my iMac as LaCie hard drive with my photos.

  A 4 between thunderbay with JBOD 3.5 hard drives probably makes the most sense. I have 3 x 4 TB, HDD, one for storage of photos, one for saving the photo viewer, for Time Machine. And then a 1 TB of HARD drive to back up my iMac (512 GB SSD) drive. Problem is I'm afraid that's not too noisy. Even if I had a quieter fan, I'm worried about the noise made by the readers of spinning.

  Second option is a Thunderbay 4 with 2.5 1 TB SSD in a RAID5 configuration. It would give me 3 TB of storage with protection against failure. With a Noctura fan, it would be nearly silent. But this isn't a true backup and I still need a separate backup drive, which is not the most elegant solution.

  FWIW, I have backup off site with Backblaze. But although that offers protection data, if the entire Thunderbay somehow got fried, it would be nice to have a backup closer at hand than Backblaze. I believe that they will send a disc with recorded data, but not sure about that.

  Any ideas would be appreciated!

  If noise from Thunderbay concerns then just get you a longer cable of love at first sight. I saw them in 10 meter lengths, then you can have the flexibility to put the box in another room or at least a distance of your office.

  I guess you'll have to manually lower the file full resolution first. I would ' t think that any application would just go and take it automatically from the Cloud. You may need to check if you have not already.

  I'm trying to free up storage on my iPhone 6 more running iOS 9.3.1. Photos is empty. Recently deleted photos is empty. Photos is disabled in settings > icloud > photos. The rockers are disabled in the settings > photos and camera. But its still appearing as using 440 MB of storage in the photo library and 30.6 MB in shared photo streams.

  Your photo library has been migrated from iPhoto or Aperture, and do you still have your original iPhoto or Aperture library on your Mac?  Then the storage for deleted photos only comes out, after you remove the same photos in the iPhoto library or the Aperture library as well.  When the photo is migration a library it saves space by linking to the photos in the Aperture library or iPhoto library. Photos photos and your original library share the same storage on your request of hard links. There are references to files in the system, and so that the file is used by a library storage is not released.   If you still want to keep the original libraries, consider to move them to an external disk and remove them from your system disk.

  Unfortunately, iCloud is not designed to work where you can remove photos from your devices and hope that they would remain in the cloud.  # Once that remove you it from the appliance, remove yourself from iCloud as well.  In order to save space on the device, go to settings > iCloud > Photos > optimize iPhone storage.  Alternatively, you can opt to choose a third-party application like Dropbox, Flickr or Google Photos (personally my favorite).

  Well, you have to take a lot of photos/videos for this level of 200 GB.  Remember, iCloud and storage of your iPhone are two different things.

  Hello!

  I don't know what you mean with your storage space on Adobe Photoshop sketch. If you use the CC storage, it's 20Gb and to clean, you should archive your files and then remove them once they are archived for free space. There is no way I know to increase size if not probably change your subscription package that I would not recommend it.

  You should be able to draw a huge amount of sketches in the app, but if you use storage in the cloud then you have 20 GB and to delete it, archive your photos or download them to a hard drive if you do not want to lose, then delete from archive.

  I can't find any information on this subject, or talk or user guide... So I wonder, are locally stored pictures (I have everything in my library to iCloud) on the Apple TV (4th gen) itself?

  My idea is that I can have some photos on my Apple TV and take the camera with me when I visit friends and relatives. Connect it to the TV and enjoy the photos and all.

  It would also affect my buying decision which version to get (32 or 64 GB).

  I would be very grateful if one of the owners here could check and verify if the iCloud library photos are stored locally on the Apple TV.

  No, the pictures are not stored locally, except some of them for the screen saver, and anything that might be in the cache. You certainly couldn't take your Apple TV and see your entire collection.

• How to better manage the storage of photos

  I have an iMac which is fill with photos. Right now I have almost all my photos in jpg form stored in the pictures folder, and I have also several libraries of pictures with all these pictures of the images in the library (I think). I have the option to store my Photos libraries on iCloud. In addition, I have a terabyte external drive on my desktop. Currently, I also have a paid subscription for (other than iCloud) cloud backup but it only backs up my primary hard drive on my iMac.

  I need to download pictures on my drive hard main iMac to save disk space. What I would like to delete all the photos in my pictures folder, but make sure first that they exist in a library of Photos. Then I want to move my library to the external drive terabyte, is going in the future with Photos and also their synchronization to iCloud from the external drive.

  Can someone tell me how to do (or do other suggestions)? More precisely:

  -How can ensure me that my photos stored in the images are all in one of my photo library

  -evaluate the wisdom of deleting all the photos in the pictures folder and according to the photo library with a backup in iCloud

  Look and see - there is no functionality to check this - if you import photos it should ignore the duplicates so you could import all of them - but who may or may not completely eliminate duplicates

  It is great except iCloud library is not a backup - is a synchronization service and any changes anywhere are manufactured everywhere - you need a local library with the original downloaded for saved locally - TimeMachine is a good start

  iCloud library always allows you to synchronize your library system (and you can have a system library) assuming your DHM is Mac OS extended (journaled) format and directly connected to your Mac via a wired fast like FireWire, USB or love at first sight, is not used as a Time Machine backup volume and is always available

  I understand that you want to select the best image of Live Photos you've imported into the application Photos of your MacBook Pro. I use my iPhone to take pictures all the time and I can help you.

  For now, it is not possible to select individual images in a Photo to live as you can picture out loud.
