Store steel 640GO - message data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Hello

I had the car store for a few months, so a lot of data on it.

Today, windows detects it as a local disk and when I try to access it I get a message telling me that the disk must be formatted when I select number, I get a message saying * error (cyclic redundancy check *) data.

Help.

I tried two other laptops, both give the same answer.

Thank you

Guy

Hello

It seems that something go wrong with the HARD disk partition.
Did you try running chkdsk and to check the external HARD disc ability?
Do this!

Startup command box (cmd)
You can use the command: chkdsk c: /f r + +.
But c: means that the HARD drive or partition, you need to change this with the same letter that is assigned to the external HARD drive

    Hi shaunrollett,

Control of cyclic redundancy or CRC errors, usually occur when copying data to a CD or DVD. The error may indicate a bad block, a damaged disc or a hardware problem.

You can check whether or not the CD works in another computer.

You can try to run the Fixit mentioned in the link below and check if it helps to reolve the question:

Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media

    It's the exact message

"A support of instalation file cannot be installed
    Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

This simply means that your CD/DVD media for the installation of your game is corrupted or cannot be read, extract for all the cracks, scratches on your support.

If it is in perfect condition, better clean the lens of your CD/DVD-Rom drive with a cleaning kit, as the lens of the drive could have been contaminated by dirt.

    Hi DavidLFish,

I suggest that you run a check disk on drive c and then try the backup.

You can help solve some computer problems and improve the performance of your computer by making sure that your hard disk has no errors.

    1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    2. click on the hard drive you want to check, and then click Properties.

    3. click on the Tools tab and then, under error-checking, click check now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that detects the scanning, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a full disk check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors. This scan is trying to find and repair physical errors on the hard drive itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    4. click on Start.

Depending on the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, do not use your computer for any other tasks while it checks errors.

  • Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

    Hello

I have an external backup drive.  I wasn't able to make the backup now that it returns errors.

I guessed it was a video folder and the files that I copied recently and he was causing. When I tried to remove it, it displays an error that is not able to read the source. Tried to remove the folder using 'rmdir' at the command prompt. Cannot delete with errors "data error (cyclic redundancy check)".

Ran a chkdsk on the volume, but still freezes at 2%...

No way to delete the folder? Or if I reformat the drive, it will help?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

    ·         You get an error with this error code?

    ·         Whose operation is running on your computer?

I suggest you run the check disk from WINRE (Windows recovery environment) and if the problem occurs. Follow these steps:

    a. put the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    b. press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    c. click on your computer repair.

    d. click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    f. type Chkdsk /R, and then press ENTER.

Note: CHKDSK would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

  • Restore failed - error code = 0 x 17 (data error (cyclic redundancy check).)

I bought the Acer eRecovery discs and when I go through the process of execution of the recovery I get the error that is in the subject line. It fails on the same file each time POP01ICW0OX03C1161. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT. I changed the HDD and DVD hunting with new ones, and yet the error remains. I contacted the support and the transcript of this conversation will be at the bottom. I tried to find the disk .iso image file I have problems with, but I can't find it anywhere online. I don't want to pay another $20 for another set of discs that may or may not work. I used Ultimate boot disk to check the health of the drives I tested.

[edited to conform to the guidelines]

    I have it.

We did this recovery media for almost 3 years, I think is a flaw with the software, but may be a defective drive.

I talked to the team of the store where they were originally ordered and they will implement another series that will be sent. I followed in a PM with the order numbers and more information Monday.

    Thank you

  • Data error (cyclic redundancy check). (0 x 80070017)

This problem started last week when my automatic backup failed due to the error of data above.  It seems that this error is in an automatic update of Windows.  The last time that the backup was successful 07/23/12.   Either update was pushed after that date, it is apparently the culprit.  I need help to remove the error, so my data can be backed up again.  It is due to automatically back up tomorrow morning (06/08/12).

    Method 1

Run the Chkdsk.exe tool to check the drive for errors

    1. click on Start, type cmd in the Search box, right-click cmd in the programs list, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    2. at the command prompt, type Chkdsk/fand press ENTER.

    3. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

    4. close all applications and restart the computer.

Note When you restart, Windows checks the drive for errors, and then starts.

    5. once the computer has been restarted, install the updates again.

If method 1 does not resolve this problem, try Method 2.

    Method 2

    Rename the download file.

    1. click on Start, type notepad in the Start Search box, and then click Notepad in the list of programs .

2 copy the following commands, and then paste them into the Notepad file:

    net stop wuauserv

    CD %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution

    Download of ren Download.old

    net start wuauserv

    3. on the file menu, click on record under.

    4. in the file name box, type rename.bat, and then click on all files (*. *) in the Save as type box.

5 save the file rename.bat on the desktop.

    6. right click on the rename.bat file, and then click run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

    7. try to install the updates again.

Note When the updates are installed successfully, you can safely remove the rename.bat file.

You should not save it to your hard drive, because in the event of a disk failure hard, all your data is lost.
