store the password

I use Firefox v. 5. I am unable to store passwords to external Web sites because the Firefox status bar is different from this: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/make-firefox-remember-usernames-and-passwords. No "key" symbol or icon is indicated in the bar, no 'key' appears among the various points in the ' tools > customize section.

  • How can I store the passwords that have been deleted

I had the usernames and passwords stored for multiple accounts of e-mail on the same site. These have been accidentally deleted from the list of saved passwords, and now I can't get Firefox (23.0) to remember once again. I have no password check enabled (behind a master password), and this site does not appear on the list of "exceptions." In the password management utility, there is no facility to add new passwords, not to remove them. It seems, once removed, Firefox assumes one will never want to save this site again.

I'm in and out of these accounts literally dozens of times a day and now connect in the manual every time. How can I get Firefox saves these combinations of name of user and password for me again?

Yes. AutoComplete = off is a direction that web sites can give a browser to instruct them not to store the data that you enter in an input field. This can be search terms that you enter on a Web site like Google, but also the privacy and security of sensitive data such as a credit card number.

If you use the bookmarklet so you know what you are doing and give it a second thought.

If you use the extension that you don't notice that a Web site prefers that you do not to save this data.

With recording a password, you will need to confirm a prompt, but the other form data can be recalled if imperceptible autocomplete = off is removed.

I strongly suggest that you do not use the browser to store the passwords and login credentials.  It's not safe, and if you lose the laptop (or get hacked) your passwords may be disclosed.

There are at least two very good alternatives, which are secured.  LastPass and KeePass.  Both are highly rated and store your passwords in encrypted form.  I prefer LastPass myself, but you should check in together.
  • Admin oassword failed usb would be my Norton backups have the password

do not have a used computer at least forgotten admin password tried to use the usb port as he asked it remained red and did not work have some backups Norton wonders if they have the password somewhere on the

Drive failed because you have changed the password after you have created the USB password reset disk.

There are many options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:

    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created a hint and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password).
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
    • Ask your friendly computer dealer to reset the password for you.

Backups do not store the passwords that you can extract. Users can do that by keeping a written record.

  • How to cancel the removal of the password

I recently deleted a password of an account on a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium, but now I didn't have.

I would like to refurbish or restore the password of previous such account, because I now see that creating a new password would be destructive of some of the data associated with this account.  (e.g. saved passwords, encrypted .efs files and information, etc. etc.).

Is there a quick and easy way to do this?  I imagine that there is a registry setting that determines or not a user must enter a password to log on to the computer.  I saw this in the Control Panel, but I guess that the real password file and the hash are intact.

    Additional information:
I disabled the system restore before you click the "Remove password" button on the behalf
The account in question has not been connected recently
I think I've changed the hash length used for password files or anything to that effect
In regular user accounts control panel interface, there is an option to "create a password" currently

    Thanks in advance

I would like the password what it was before I removed it.

Impossible! Windows does not store the passwords and Windows doesn't have a method to extract passwords from its file of password (for obvious reasons!).

I'll qualify the above: If the c:\Windows\System32\config\regback\SAM file is earlier than the removal of the password, then it * * might be possible to reverse the ill-considered action.
  • How to hide the password in the event FDMEE script

    Hello

I have a script of the event (AftImport.py) implemented in FDMEE. In the script, I have a line to connect to the base:

    sourceConn = sql. DriverManager.getConnection ("jdbc:oracle:thin:@abcd1234.vci.att.com:1521:FCMTEST", "SWUSER", "pw5678");

In this example, pw5678 is the password of the user SWUSER to connect to the base. For safety reason is there a way to hide the password pw5678 in this script?

    Thank you!

    Hello

your security policies are too strong?

There are different ways to do this. Some of them:

-Use of Base64 encode/decode (you have the details on our google friend)

-Store the password in the system environment variable and get this value from the script

-With the help of related SQL Server/Oracle DB Link + synonyms. Using this approach avoid you opening connections of the scripts as we shall delete your database / tables as objects of FDMEE and the FDMEE databases is accessible from scripts without having to open the connection.

Different solutions, different ways of hacking password if someone has access to the script. So based on your security policies, you need to find the best solution.

  • hide the password recovery catalog in script

    Hi all

I wanted to know what are all the options, the community uses when it comes to hide the recovery catalog owner password? of course, when you save another DB in our environment, we use a recovery catalog and connect using the user/password@recovery_catalog in our script. so if anyone has access to read our script can find the password of the recovery catalog owner. I wanted to see what is the dose of rest of the dose of community to hide the recovery catalog password?

What is the version of db, which we are discussing here? If its 11g, you can create the virtual catalog owners on the top of the catalog and allows to manage your db. Other than that, you can store the password in the wallet on the client side and use it without Hardcoding it.
