Strange Benchmark results...

Hi, I just installed 2 Sandisk Extreme 120 disks on my PC... They are not in a raid configuration, one is the system drive and the other for running games.

After installation I decided I want to test them with AS - SSD compared to my old OCZ Vertx THE.

I was a little confused by the results...

The first (system disk) is more or less correct... If it isn't as impressive as I thought it might be...

The 2nd disc is kinda weird...

These results are not an off either, I get the same kind of behavior every time. I've updated the firmware, rolled back readers... nothing makes a difference.

For reference, my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z8XP-UD3P r1 with the U1e UEFI bios. Intel RST indicates that they are OK and work on SATA 6 Gb/s...

Everybody... all the faulty ideas drive maybe?

EDT: Add... I just changed ports connections around the disks for the controller... and the rest of the issue, this isn't a problem of controller/driver sata to a proposal.

Your second SanDisk EX has enabled Windows disk compression.

If you right-click on the SSD and then click Properties, you will see an entry for "Compress this drive to save disk space", which will have a check mark in the box.

This is what causes the strange results. The readings are super fast, but the Scriptures are super slow, the trademark of Windows disk compression. May be Ok if you have read in this SSD and did not care how long written took.

Disable this setting and click on apply, then Ok. It should be fixed.

If the critics were wrong, but all the posts in this forum are right? No, they are not, as the saying goes, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Now, I happened to know about it, as I've seen it before, but I know everything? Of course not. We create PCs and think we know a lot about them. In reality, we know squat. Imagine trying to write the code of the firmware of an SSD. Or a driver for a SATA chipset. Or NTFS file system. These things are so complicated and involve things we have never heard of.

I keep that in mind and always know that it's usually wrong to jump to conclusions.

The strange thing is, when I copy and paste my debug component request for access to and run the query, it returns the a result he had to :/

  • Strange ROWNUM result on query complex using separate results

We have a very complicated query that is a combination of implicit and explicit joins on more than 10 tables in the database. Due to performance issues and timeout if we let him return the entire result set, I'm limiting it to a number using rownum.

Initially, we were using a "select * of (select distinct * insert here * order of main by id request) where rownum < = 300 ', but work stopped when a new piece of research has been implemented that makes the whole result set then cut accepting up to 300 results for 5 minutes, which is the maximum of our web server can define for a timeout.

So I tried to change it simply to "select distinct * insert here the main query * and rownum < = 300. This is for a reason any returns only one record. If I add THAT ROWNUM to the list of displayed values it displays 300 lines of exactly the same values with different rownums, who then likely get collapsed down by the distinct in the single record that I see.

Is there a better way to do it? We can't simply not the complete set of results in a subquery to whittle down, but try to whittle down to the main request gives weird results.

A better approach would be to improve the performance of the main query. On the one hand, do come back less (or not) duplicate lines would probably improve the performance considerably, because he's back at least 300 copies of certain lines. Making a DIFFERENT one on a large number of lines can be a problem in itself huge performance.

  • C55D-A-149 - Windows 8.1 desperately SLOW satellite

Hi, I have been asked to Toshiba USA this post here because my laptop is a European model.

I recently received this laptop, if it is still new and so is the installation.

The laptop is TOSHIBA SATELLITE C55D-A-149. I realize that it is a budget laptop and processor is quite low. But still, it came pre-installed with Windows 8.1 and as much as I know Windows 8.1 is not optimized for laptops / tablets slow but mine is a very bad performance.

Startup is slow, file manager is slow, reducing a window takes to always and so forth.

To determine where the problem is that I ran a cross-platform of reference on my machine, which is on Windows and on linux Ubuntu. I used a live CD to run Linux without installing it. The reference tool used was Geekbench3: http://www.primatelabs.com/geekbench/

The benchmark results can be seen here: http://browser.primatelabs.com/user/87755

And we don't know how Windows 8.1 is trolling.

What is the reason for this poor performance?

If Windows 8.1 is really the problem would it be preferable for me to remove it and install Windows 7? But I don't want to lose my authentic copy of 8.1 because it is what guarantees the next Windows 10 free update. Is it possible to partition the hard drive and does not lose the recovery partition?

    What are my options now

Well, the Satellite C55D-A-149 was equipped with the fast processor 1 GHz AMD Essentials E1-2100

This processor does not provide the best performance... so its necessary to change the system to obtain an appropriate return for laptop.
First first of al I recommend you clean the system using the CCleaner. Its freeware software and it allows you to clean the registry, as well as to remove "garbage" and the files stored time.

In addition, you could disable some background processes and tasks that are not really necessary...
I think this should help you to get the system working well.

With regard to the installation of Win 7:

If you want, you can install Win 7... the new installation of the OS can be useful, but all additional software would not be installed automatically, you can choose between the unique utilities...

  • Inconsistent output in project values. Possible race condition.

I have a big project and saw many. I recently made some changes to the highest VI (do not remember what the changes were however) which led to a very strange test results, from time to time. I have a VI sub entering the model number off the coast of the ASE and outputs of an enum. If the Subvi outputs 2, shall be read as a 2 to the topVI. About 20% of cases, it generates a 0. At the higher level, the output of the Subvi connects to a typedef cluster that contains the typedef enum.

I thought about it. It turns out that it wasn't a race condition. Where I placed my probes and where I put breakpoints, it looked like the data that has been taken out of the subIV and the data in the top VI did not correspond to the top. It turns out that the DUT has a firmware which sometimes returns incorrect data.

  • Rendering and exporting RIDICULOUSLY long?

[Go to Premiere Pro forum... JTS]

    Hello

I'm trying to render and export a clip 4 minutes of GoPro in first Pro CC. Only used filters are stabilizer Warp and distortion (parameter GoPro) Correction lens.

Render or export of this 4 minute clip takes 8 to 10 hours. Even just trying to return a part of 17 seconds of the clip takes at least 40 minutes. Even when you try to export by the SOUL. What I am doing wrong? I do something wrong, that otherwise it is just crazy.

    The system is:

    AMD Phenom ii 1090 t.

    16 GB OF RAM

    All data on SSD drives

Sapphire HD7870 card (GPU acceleration enabled in the export settings)

    Windows 7 SP1

I would be grateful for any help/advice you can offer.

    Thank you

See Page Tweakers - what type of PC to use? and note the warning about the AMD processor. Then look at Tweakers Page - what video card use? and note the note:

Results of initial reference with the AMD cards show that they are about two times slower than nVidia price cards also.

    to get the right-of-way.

See Benchmark results PPBM5 and note the entry #1145 more 15 x slower than a fast Intel Core system and it has a nearly identical configuration as yours. Same processor but overclockee, same memory, video card a little older.

The effect of lens distortion is not accelerated, so that slow AMD processor must carry the burden, and it shows in your time-exporters.

  • Budget PC performance for Adobe CS4

    Hello

    I use Encore CS4 , Premiere Pro CS4, and PhotoShop CS4.

I ' like to build a PC budget. I have listed my selected components to build this computer i7-920 CPU-based. Can you please check if they are a good choice and hey can work together well?

Some people say that the CPU i7-860 is better than the i7-920. But there are different opinions on this subject. I'm a bit confused. What with Xeon 5506 CPU and a related dual core CPU motherboard? I need your suggestions. Thank you...

    Here are my choices

    ---------------------------------------

Case: Cooler Master CM 690 Pure

Power: Corsair HX 650W ATX 2.2

    Motherboard: ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution X 58 (triple DDR3 PC3-10667U)

    Processor:
    Intel Core i7-920, 4 x 2.67 GHz

    Processor, cooling fan:
    Zalman CNPS 10 X Extreme (base 775/1156/1366/754/939/940 / AM2 / AM2 + / AM3)

    Memory: Corsair XMS3 Dominator DIMM Kit 6 GB PC3-12800U CL8-8-8-24 (DDR3-1600)

    Graphics/video card: NVIDIA QuadroFX 580, GeForce 9500 GT 512MB GDDR3

HDD: 2 x Western Digital VelociRaptor 150 GB, SATA II (as SATA RAID 1)

    Blue-ray Driver: LiteOn DH-4B1S, SATA

Operating system: Windows 7, Ultimate Edition 64-bit

    Best regards

    Musti

I don't really care for how a certain CPU is rated in hardware marketing, if it is classified as a 'consumer' or 'professional '. Account of the bottom line and should be weighed the price/performance ratio. There is no doubt a 5580 Xeon dual or 5590 is a better performer than an i7-920 stock speed. But the thing to remember is the extra price for each processor, the extra cost of the mobo, the higher cost of ECC, the very limited capacity of overclocking memory, etc. and in the end result, you will notice that the i7-920 when reasonably overclocked is the most economical choice that will often surpass a dual Xeon system at much lower cost.

Watch the PPBM4 results or pass mark benchmark results and you will see that there is no dual Xeon to anywhere near the top of the list, although it is much more expensive.

  • Strange results in "organize bookmarks".

    Hi people,
I'm having a strange result when I opened "Organize Favorites".
I do not get the actual list, but rather, only 3 URL in the right pane (name, etc.) and Nothing in the left pane.
I have topped up the bookmarks via the function "Import/Backup" from 2 different sources, I use to back up important applications and files, both with the same results. Namely an external hard drive and a USB key. And, Yes, I always check these files with applications of virus, malware and software spies/bot after save it!
Any ideas there? I have several years to build these bookmark and I go nuts trying to go up this list! < VBG >

  • Record of strange results

    Hi all

I came across a strange situation with a movie file sent by one of our colleague. The file is attached here. The results have been achieved for non-existing steps in the sequence 'Test '. See the attached picture. There is no single step in the sequence 'Test' even then results are saved. Please help me understand why there are results in the absence of measures to the title sequence 'Test '. Is this a bug in the TS? or something else.

Sequence is saved in f1 TS 2012 SP1.

    Thank you

It's because someone changed the ResultList of your sub Test sequence.  They added 4 items in there.  Delete the and you will not see this more.

  • Strange results of multiplexer ADG608

    Hi dear lovers,.

I try to use the circuit (within attachments) to switch between the multiple resistance using a multiplexer. Initially, I had different values attached to each channel resistance, but because I was getting very strange and HUGE! results, I've grounded all channels except the first channel and just connect a 120 Ohm resistor. I am able the magnitudes of mega ohms resistance readings and I have no idea how these huge values of resistance are appearing at all. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and I really appreciate any help.

We can't directly measure the resistance in an active (powered) circuit. You need to measure the voltage and current at the pertinent points and the Ohm's law to calculate the resistance. The simulators are in this respect as in real circuits.

You must also use voltages and currents that are compatible with the devices in the circuit. With 12 V applied to Y2, you will get 100 ~ my crossing the ADG608 S1 when turned on.  I didn't look to the top of the form, but think that it is too common.

Only, I have a few minutes now and cannot establish a tour for you. Connect V1 Y2 through an ammeter. This will allow you to measure the current flowing through the mux. Also to measure the voltage to Y1.  Then the resistance switch Rs = (V1 - V (Y1)) /I (V1).
