  I have a Pro Satellite 4700 and two memory modules:
  1 Samsung CL2 SODIMM 144 pin 128 MB PC100-222-620
  2 NEC 144 pin SODIMM PC100-222-620 128 MB

  Each of these modules work fine separately.
  When I put the two to reach 256 of ram, the system does not boot Windows XP - simply indicates that this driver pci.sys is missing/corrupted. Repair with the XP Setup disk hangs at the end.

  I am completely confused because my keyboard has gone haywire and am pretty annoyed, that I can't fix it

  Am running windows 7 on toshiba satellite laptop computer pro and I was wondering if this is a software or hardware problem.

  Here's what happens:

  -Caps lock light stays no more but it flashes when I press it. It always works well
  -Left SHIFT key still works, but when I press on it... it is also creates this symbol ~ at the same time within UK keyboard. If I change U.S. keyboard then it enters the vertical BAR.
  -The ~ key above the tab key doesn't do what ¬
  - And that the key to the pipe that is above the input Tape button this: #7

  I updated the BIOS earlier today, but nothing helps...

  Does anyone have an idea on how I can fix this as its quite frustrating! Thanks for all the ideas.

  Everything looks like it was started and the lights turn on but the screen stays black and nothing happens.

  I don't understand what is happening, the RAM sticks are not defective, because they both work individually.

  Edit: Ive tried swapping them round in all possible combinations and they don't always work together. So currently I use key 1 to 2 GB of RAM and my old 512 MB one with her.

  Almost after a year I bought it - one of the memory locations died on the motherboard! A machine still worked OK - only on a slot with installed memory capacity! So the 256 MB of memory and motherboard have been replaced by September 2002.

  Then the hard drive was noise - has been replaced as a guarantee somewhere in October 2004. So I thought that it is her - I have now a few years without problem again!

  Yes - all of a sudden a few days ago, I closed the lid for a coffee brake and after that the machine woke up to a strange sleep - the screen flickered and a machine was muzzy! Like the previous night failures that occurred before that I thought that this restart will solve the problem! It s woke up without the support of the voice!   I have a strange problem with my Satellite pro 4600 (SP460E-03371-G3) laptop. I have the battery with the AC adapter unplugged, but the battery indicator turns on (no green, not orange). And the laptop does not start when I push the power button. It's like when the battery is discharged. When I plug in the power adapter, AC power light turns green, Notepad starts OK. And cams CIHI surprise: when I plug the AC everything works perfectly on battery power, but still no sign of the green or orange battery indicator. If I check the power state in Windows XP, the system indicates that the laptop works on current alternative, but the AC is disconnected. Why is this?
