  The specification for the Satellite Pro A100 840 said that memory has a maximum of 4 GB of memory. But it does not seem to be all provided by Toshiba that allows me to level to 4 GB of memory.   In any case I really don't understand what your problem. It seems that your model of laptop can handle with 4 GB RAM max. According to your assignment, your laptop comes with 1 GB of RAM.

  I have a Satellite Pro A100 PSAACE I want to upgrade. I currently have 1 GB of RAM in two 512 MB modules. I looked on Crucial.com and he says I need DDR2 PC2 4200 module (240 pin DIMM), but of course, they want to sell their own stuff that only comes in 1 GB modules.

  I have two Toshiba laptops, one for work (A200-1 to 9) the other for home (A100-338), both have the same problem with the reading of the internal reader SD cards.

I have a Satellite Pro A100 and sometimes use it with a speedtouch 330 what ASDL USB connected modem, but whenever I use this at some point that I seem to lose connectivity, the Explorer does not display the pages and other applications stop working, even if I do not seem physically the connection loose. It is often the only to get back on the net to restart and start over.

  The modem doesn't seem to be the problem as it works very well with my desktop and the laptop works very well when it is connected through wireless and idea and solution would be greatly appreciated.
