• Strange "ghost" icons that cannot be manipulated in the Games folder.

  In the Games folder, when I try to delete a shortcut in there, I often get a strange icon which can not be deleted, move, read properties, click right, etc. Hard to explain so linked an image of the window here:

  The icons in question are for Alien Swarm, Civ V and torchlight.

  Can someone help me get rid of these icons?

  Edit: Also went to %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games and removed the shortcuts. No change. It should also be noted that all 3 of these listed shortcuts have been downloaded steam.

  1. have you tried to remove the icon of the game, safe mode?

  First check if you can remove the icon of the game in safe mode.

  If the previous step fails then suggest you scan the computer for any malware or virus infection.

• strange css icon

  Hi everyone - have used my DW for about a year, then the other day all my css files are not recognized - the icon has also change now the icon kinf of resembles a small text file with a larger orange COG. Any ideas?

• Strange symbol/icon in the list of music on iTunes app

  Hello!

  Recently, I moved my iTunes library to a new computer. When I started iTunes on my new PC, I could see all my music files and playlists.  So far so good.

  I also (intentionally) all deleted music and playlists on my device (iPhone 6) because I wanted to start from scratch.  I did it by going to storage > storage to manage, and then click music > songs.

  When I plugged my iPhone into my computer and pulled to the top of iTunes, I noticed some strange entries in the music list.  They appeared "grey" with circles (left).  Screenshot see attachment.  As far as I know, these entries match the purchases I made on the iTune store.  But not all music purchases.  Since I still have the original files of the music purchased on my computer, I can see that the list in gray on my iPhone is far from a complete list of all my music purchases.

  I can't play these entries "in gray' on my iPhone.  I can't delete them either.  Any idea what I can do to get rid of them?

  They seem to be evidence of a transfer to a standstill. I suspect that iTunes is supposed to gracefully recover during the next connection, but apparently not.

  The following steps will generally help solve weird sync issues. They assume that all the content you want on the device in your lending library for the restoration. If not see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device first. I would also recommend you copy everything off of the camera, if you have not already.

  1. Backup device.
  2. Restoration as a new device.
  3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

• The other day that I upgraded to Mozilla Firefox, since then, when I save a Word document on my desktop, I get a strange looking icon instead of the 'normal' Word icon.

  The icon appears to be just a preview of the content of the actual document? Office has a function to display thumbnails of the documents. You may have noticed in the dialog box save as that you can check a box to "save thumbnail".

  In the research on this topic, I found a clear way to block those to display once they are in the document.

• Strange folder icons [unrecognized icons]

  Last week, I noticed that the icons for my records in the two storage drives that I have connected to my computer display the unknown icon next to them, instead of the folder icon which should be present. Here is an example:

  

  This image is from files in the C:\Windows folder. This icon appears on every folder in the system, including those on the desktop:

  

  However, I noticed a things on the behavior of these folder icons on my system. Here is what I noticed:

  If I change the display of my folders of content, medium icons, large icons or large icons, tiles, the image folder is displayed correctly., with the exception of a few icons that are always displayed in form of unrecognized icon. Here is a picture of the same part of my content with the view defined for C:\Windows folder:

  
  Another thing I noticed (which applies only to the desktop), it's that when I place a file inside of a filer on the desktop, the correct icon for the folder will appear:

  
  I placed a blank Word document within the folder.

  Currently, that's all, I noticed on my behavior of folder icon.

  If anyone here can help me difficulty these icons to their expected image (the folder icon), it would be greatly appreciated. If I could achieve this without using 3rd party applications it would be even more appreciated. Thank you very much

  Sorry for the long post, I wanted to explain my problem. If this discussion is in the wrong topic, I'm sorry.

  Hello again, it was a while.

  I had another problem. I don't know if it's to do with the custom theme, but I'll tell you about it here.

  An automatic update installed for Windows a few days ago. The night before the problems happened the PC was fine. I shut down the computer and it configured updates (such as windows usually does when it is updated). The next day, I turned the computer and it would not be at the logon screen boot. I tried the Safe Mode. Same thing. I was getting a blue screen. I don't remember the mistake of all, but the main matter was "Page fault in non paged area" I think it's to do with memory, I checked my RAM using a tool that I found on the boot screen options (?) (I don't remember exactly how I did it), and it was just beautiful. Even the system restore was not fixing it. Finally, I took my Windows CD and somehow fixed by restoring the System Image. I'm sorry if that didn't make much sense, but it was quite all right, and I don't remember all the details.

  In any case, now that my system works again, I wondered why the blue screen kept appearing. And I think that it is to make the recent Windows updates I installed the day before to (not 100% sure if). I turned off "auto update" and I have no problems now. But I know, it is recommended to install all the recent updates, but I'm a little afraid that if I install them the blue screen will return.

• Strange error icon

  Hello

  Just got an email that my app has been approved, but that it must be properly signed and my icon was an incorrect size. The signature should be fine as I noticed with my command line needed me a step.

  However the issue of the icon causes me problems, I changed my 86 x 86 icon and updated the my - file, app.xml as follows:

  But I get an error during the construction: "application.icon.image86x86 is an unexpected element/attribute."

  Has anyone else had the same problem? I use FDT and ANT compile my app.

  Basically, the icon must be defined in the file blackberry - tablet.xml and not the - app.xml file. Good luck!

• El Capitan - strange icon appears

  I upgraded this morning to El Capitan. Now every 40 seconds, or a strange guitar icon appears and then disappears without reason. It doesn't matter what program I use. It happens even in the Finder. Here it is... any ideas?  It happened about 4 times while I was typing this question.

  I'm confused and I think I must miss a (simple?) detail somewhere.

  I'm updating the icons of all the members of a class of lvoop of a different color. Specifically, a shade of blue (RGB = 0 - 96-128). However, I get another shade of blue (RGB 0 - 102-153). I wonder the reason for this?

  It is strange that icon editor changes color on you.  I was able to reproduce the swap of color following your steps and while I don't know exactly why this is happening, I have a good idea.

  Something strange is that, even if icon editor allows to 24-bit color, the LabVIEW diagram use only 8-bit color.

  My best guess is that you have selected the color 0-96-128 in editor icons, the closest, you can get in the LabVIEW diagram is 0-102-153.  This isn't a definitive test, but I took your class and VI who told me they had stripes of different color and both dropped in a new VI.  I took a snip of that and when I looked in the paint, I noticed the two strips were the color 0-102-153.  It's pretty ridiculous that the Publisher allows you to choose from a range of 24-bit color, but that's what I think is happening.

• Why the Word icon changed on just this computer - new Word icon with an area gray at the bottom left with a diagonal bar or a pencil?

  Last week, one of our machines (34 bit) Vista has begun to view Word files by an icon which ranges from normal Word icon.  This strange Word icon has the normal Word icon with a gray area at the bottom left.  In the grey area is a diagonal bar or a pencil.  (Too small to see clearly).

  It seems to behave like a normal Word document, but the icon is different.  When double click on the file, it opens Word application normally.  It prints as expected.  If I find a Word file on the server, the icon of the file word seems normal.  Once I move the computer, afterwards, the change icon.  For some, it changes shortly after I saved the document on the new computer.  Sometimes, the icon does not immediately change, and sometimes it does.  Sometimes, the icon changes after the updating of the computer.

  I was told what happened after an update of Microsoft, but I can't check.  This computer has a Word 2007 (which has been updated to Word 2003 several months ago) and is running on the Vista operating system.

  I suggest you try the following steps.

  1. click on start and then click Control Panel-> click the default programs->, and then select the set Associations tab.
  2. locate .doc or another Office Word on extensions and select change program.
  3. search for Microsoft Office Word, and then click OK.

  Check if the word file is back to normal.

  If this does not work, I suggest to create a test user account and check if the settings file for the word files are normal.

  I noticed 3 strange black icons with a question mark on them: music, photos & videos. I can't delete them, but I can hide. I want that they are gone forever! They work like links 2 the app they represent. RIM does a helping hand? Pls HELP! Thanks in advance...

  Are those who pushed the icons take very little space., 4-7 KB each and make no real difference in space not used. Just hide them. While they can be removed in fact through service books, they'll turn up eventually.

• Project icon file missing on Mac (empty)

  I started to notice that all the AE (.aep) files no longer have a little purple icon on my external, non-retine Thunderbolt display. I see an icon in the largest views miniatures of the investigator, but the views list and column display only an icon of the Virgin, white. When I drag the window of the reel to my Macbook Pro screen, the icons appear. They disappear when the window dates back to the retina-no screen. Everyone knows this?

  I did a complete wipe/installation last week and installed costs of all creative Cloud applications. I also downloaded AE CC 2014 (as well as updates) to see if this fixed the problem of icon without success.

  

  Problem solved!

  I've booted safe mode (hold down the SHIFT key at startup) and saw that the icons will appear normally. I rebooted and started normally and now display the icons. Secure boot lightened somehow everything that was wrong with .aep icon previews.

• Pink icons for InDesign 5.5

  Having just upgraded to InDesign 5.5, I find now that all of my InDesign documents have roses icons rather than the traditional purple icons. What is the new look for InDesign or a bug. It is not important, but it is annoying me a bit.

I get the error message 'Podcasts is available on iOS' and "for podcasts look for it in the Apple store on your iOS device" that stop my other applications update every hour. The purple icon remains. All my devices are Apple. Any suggestions?
