Strange wifi network

Hello

This is the first time I have ever written to anywhere, so bare with me if I can't explain the question very well. In addition, because English is not my native language, I may have a few questions of grammar and.

So, here's the thing. whenever I am connected to my wifi network, another wifi network appears from nowhere and for some reason, it is named after me.

I don't know where it comes from. Maybe I somehow has created and completely forgotten, maybe it's a malware that I can't get rid of, all I know is that it doesn't appear when I'm connected to the internet, it is named after me, and he did great fear.

I tried Googling my situation but in vain, so I'd appreciate any help I can get.

System Preferences > network > select Wi - fi

Click on the Advanced button

Select the Wi - Fi tab if it is not already selected.

Select the network you want to get rid of.

"Click on to the less '-' the button to delete the network."

Click the OK button.

Repair permissions and restart your computer.

In the event that I am the first, my problem is that I can't connect to the public AT & T WiFi networks; McDonald, being the most common location.  It appears in the list of wireless networks, but it takes forever for the McDonald's to open web page in the box that says something like "Connect to the Internet" or words to that effect.  Finally after clicking this check box, a message appears at the bottom of the page indicating that the webpage is not responding; Click to refresh it.  No matter how many times I try it, nothing happens.

What is strange, is that I am on a WiFi network at the moment.  "Wandering WiFi" to be precise.  But I tried to get on AT & T at Starbucks earlier this evening and had the same success that I had at McDonald's.

I'm pretty sure that I don't mess with settings wireless on my pc but I can't say that for sure 100%.

Sorry to see that you are having problems. Please, try the following.

    Restart the device

Make sure that all the updates have been applied.

    • Open the network connections Panel
    • Select the network connection corresponding to either right click (mouse) or hold by selecting (finger).
    • A Context Menu will appear. Please Select forgotten network.
    • After the network connection is dropped, please reconnect.

If that solves the problem then great! If this is not the case, let know us and we will try something else.

  • iTunes crashes if its wifi network does not have access to the internet

    Hi all.

I'm running a 13 "mac book pro with OS X El Capitan.

I have a very specific problem of iTunes which is really bugging me.  I'm a pro saxophone player and part of my job is performed as a soloist with playbacks on my mac.  To avoid having to walk to the mac to start the track to accompany each song, I use a tablet on a stand that I can place anywhere in the room.  I've set up a router next to the mac that the mac and the tablet of connect to, and I run "retune" on the Tablet (I think it's that his name) which is a wifi iTunes remotely.  Installation is really smart cos he allows me to choose new avenues of selection from anywhere in the room instead of walking back and forwards to the mac every time.

The problem I have is that sometimes maybe (1 to 5 times), I have a real problem from iTunes when the mac is connected to a wifi network that has no real internet connection.  I'm sure that iTunes detects wifi connection and then tries to access the internet to connect with the store.  When he is not in the store it just crashes and I get the spinning wheel of death.  Most of the time, I can simply restart the program several times and finally he decided to play ball, but it's a real pain.  And I did a concert yesterday where he would not have enough, no matter what I did.  If I had no choice but to turn off the router and keep walking to the mac for each song.

I can't find a setting anywhere on iTunes that can disable the connection to the store and I really am stuck.

I also tried alternative programs (I used Clementine briefly but I just found it too flakey to be invoked) and so I am open to others suggests.  But I need a player who has a remote app that I can use on my tablet.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I use an older version of iTunes and in the preferences a lot, I can disable Store, Radio, sharing services, probably genius if I got it. Check all your preferences settings including those you think don't matter such as parental preferences (this is where the store is hidden on mine).  Realize also that iTunes has turned into a simple multimedia player to a 75% of sales and marketing as well as the do-it-all tool (aka bloatware) try too many at once and developers can't even imagine someone (i.e. the daily target user) use it without Internet.  Add on that you try to use an application to control iTunes and something like that is likely to misbehave, willy nilly whenever Apple launches an update.

Don't forget with wi - fi you are subject to interfering signals other wi - fi services in the region or the stage equipment.

  • No display wireless or WiFi networks

I got iOS 10 since I was a notification for the update. But this morning when I tried to sync new music in my iPhone 6, my internet has suddenly disappeared for some reason, I thought it was my router so I decided to reset my router, it has not solved anything. So I decided to reset my network settings, that nothing happened also. Then I tried to erase everything from my phone and make up the whole as a new phone, nothing happened. Now, I decided to downgrade my phone to iOS 9.3.5, the problem still don't have resolve.

I know that the fact the my router is not act because the iPhone of my 5s sister who is on iOS 10 is connected to our internet connection. IPhone my mother 6 s is also connected to our internet connection. So, what would be the problem with my phone? Because neither it connects or even show any wifi network. (It is proven because I went to my aunt's House to check if it is possible what our router, also rendered to a mall to check always nothing happens) I hope someone can help me.

    Thank you

    Hello

It may help to follow the steps detailed here:

Apple recommends the parameters of the Wi - Fi routers and access points are detailed here:

  • Look on OS3 connects to a public wifi network, that has a connection to the Web page.

in the United Kingdom, we have a public wifi network called "_the cloud", which is free to use, but requires that you register for a free account.

Once signed, the phone will automatically connect when you are next in the range.

It seems that since the release of WatchOS3, the Apple Watch will connect now to this public WiFi even with the phone turned off or in flight mode. Suggesting it is connected to a Web page by its self.

It seems to me that it is only this a public wifi network that does this now, but can't figure out how!

Great news in any case, I hope that more public wifi networks completely agrees!

If someone else in the United Kingdom that uses 'cloud _L' public wifi could test this point too, that would be great. I hope that we could get an official comment from Apple?

  • How to connect my Time Capsule to a WiFi network?

Happily, I use a Time Capsule for years as a WiFi router connected as a bridge to the router provided by my supplier.

Now, I'm moving to a place where internet is already provided by an access point in my new apartment and included in the monthly cost of the facilities in this village. The access point is hidden behind the ceiling of my apartment and doesn't have any port ethernet except the one used to get the internet. WiFi which will be available for me is configured by an administrator with the name of my apartment.

My internet needs TC that the ethernet source and I wonder what I could do to work around this problem. I don't see any option in the settings of TC to connect to an existing WiFi.

While waiting to move to the new apartment, I did a test by trying to create a scenario similar to the House, for example by using the wifi router of my provider to create a wifi network, then using an extension of WiFi that is connected to A WiFi network and connect my TC via ethernet connected on WiFi extender set up my TC as a bridge and the creation of a WiFi B with my TC that I can use with my devices. It works fine, but I wonder if there is something I'm missing or a better solution or possible issues related to this configuration.

    Tnxs.

My internet needs TC that the ethernet source and I wonder what I could do to work around this problem.

In a Word, nothing. The TC must connect to a network by using a wired Ethernet cable connection. The only exception to this would be a Workbench where you already have a router Apple providing a wireless signal, in which case the TC can connect wireless to "extend" the network.

This is how the TC must be connected to the network of the apartment. If your extension does not work with the network of the apartment, an AirPort Express could be used to 'join' the network wireless of the apartment, and then provide an Ethernet connection to the Treasury Board.

  • WiFi Solution - only wifi network

    Hey

I live in Israel and how I get internet home is via a special modem that is also a router, this whole box is called HotBox.

The quality of this refrigerator is VERY bad, but it's the only way to get internet here...

Since I was little systems in my house requiring some specific open ports (smart home hub and dvr security cameras) the hotbox is really bad with the opening of the ports so I had to do a bridge inside mode, so it works as a modem and connected on it (some not expensive tp-link I'll change with time) an extra to work as opening and router port solution router.

    so far, it works fine.

The House is large in the territory and I thought the best solution to extend the internet into an area away from the House, the basement which has thick walls and wifi signal is difficult to achieve...

The inside of the wall, I have an ethernet cable that goes from the main tp-link router in the basement and there I connected a time capsule Airport (model 2014 if it made a difference, the new type of orders one) which gives wifi in the basement and an additional airport specially for the single harder.

Everything works fine but a small thing, in the upper part of the House, I have Tp-link network (say 1) and in the basement, I have a different time capsule (Network2) wifi network.

My question is how can I do the work of the entire system on a single network?

I have to do the time capsule as a bridge or configure it somehow differently?

Or is it still possible to do?

Thank you very much for your help in advance!

My question is how can I do the work of the entire system on a single network?

Change the name of the network wireless on the Time Capsule so that it will be exactly the same as the name of the TP-Link network.

In the example below, you can see the name of my wireless network is TWNDB. If I wanted to change the name, I change / move back the current name and then type the new name I wanted to use.

I have to do the time capsule as a bridge or configure it somehow differently?

The Capsule should already be configured in Bridge Mode if it has been implemented correctly, who calls Apple 'Off (Bridge Mode). If it isn't, then you must change the setting on the network tab, ensure the Capsule is in 'Off (Bridge Mode).

  • Why the Personal Hotspot from my mobile phone appears in my list of list wifi networks if it is disabled on my phone?

Why the Personal Hotspot from my mobile phone appears in my list of list wifi networks if it is disabled on my phone?

On my iMac, there is an icon for a list of available to join Wifi networks.

One of these Wifi networks is my iPhone Personal Hotspot.

However when I look at my setup on my iPhone Personal Hotspot is off.

I tried to join the Hotspot to my iMac and put.

This is part of a feature called Hotspot instantly. It allows you to connect to your personal hotspot without your password or activate the hotspot on your phone. Don't worry, this does not allow other people to access your hotspot, only devices using the same identifier Apple will see your hotspot. This feature is not using any extra battery life when you're not connected to it. You can learn more about instant Hotspot here: OS X Yosemite: connect to the Internet using instant Hotspot

  • My early 2015 retina 13 '' Macbook pro intermittently "hang" on a wifi network in my house

Problem: My early 2015 retina 13 '' Macbook pro intermittently "latch" on a wifi network in my house.  Which means, if I'm on my 2.4 GHz network, it works very well and then randomly - while remaining always connected to the wifi network - will lose its ability to connect what be it for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This occurs every 5-10 minutes. If I go to my 5 GHz connection, it works very well for 5-10 minutes. I keep having to switch back so that it could respond more quickly, or let them hang for a minute until he figures it by itself.

Meanwhile, I can connect with my iPhone, Windows laptop, Xbox, computer, etc. without any problems. If I take my macbook in wifi areas, I have never run into this issue. I don't really know what to do, and faced with the conclusion this problem online - as it is a very specific set of variables causing problems.

Please see recommended settings of WiFi routers and access Apple points.

Despite these recommendations, some routers will work better with the latest Mac models if you turn the radio 2.4 GHz mode in settings and only use the 5 GHz. Note, however, that very old devices Apple and some third-party devices can then not connect at all.

Some third party routers have advanced that you may need to change the settings:

The encryption algorithm must be AES.

The group key interval must be 3200.

I can't give you specific instructions on how to change these settings, because all routers are different. Refer to the documentation for the provider.

  • iMac ceases to recognize WiFi networks at random

In recent weeks, our iMAC ceased to recognize WiFi networks at random.  We will use Safari or Chrome and suddenly the taskbar will specify "resolving host" and internet connection will be lost.  Within 2-3 minutes, all the WiFi networks that were previously seen in Network preferences will disappear.  If restart us the iMAC, the WiFi network will work very well for 15-30 minutes, then it will be happening everywhere.  It is frustrating to have to restart the Mac frequently! What is also very ironic, is that when WiFi networks disappear for the iMac, our iPhones (2), the iPad and laptops (Dell and HP) always recognize wifi networks. Spoke to the Apple support and made us go to El Capitan, instead to call again, I thought that I would try this community.

Here is our contact information for operating system and the actions we have taken so far.  Would be grateful to anyone who helps solve this problem.

    Operational details:

    • El Capitan - OS10.11.5
    • iMac (27-inch, mid 2010)
    • 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3
    • Processor: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    • 807 GB 1 TB storage is free
    • 2 WiFi networks available through DirectTV / AT & T 2.4 G with 5.0 G available
    • I don't have an Ethernet cable plug near this iMac

When he saw this problem, I tried the following solution:

    • Reboot, obviously works but annoying and not a systemic solution
    • Network preferences > > turn off WiFi and then turn it back on
    • Create the new location and reconnect to WiFi networks
    • Previously on Yosemite and recently upgraded to El Capitan, did not work
    • Remove the preferences.plist, the network.identification.plist, the message files - draw .plist hoping to empty cache network
    • DHCP has changed IP manual and additional figures added to the final figure of IP address on the IP address of my iPhone
    • Changed automatic DNS server to direct DNS server from Google
    • Renewed DHCP lease

No chance until then wouldn't like anyone's support there!

Hi, whenever I wake my macbook the next day he fails to connect to my wifi network (what I used perfectly fine the day before).

Any ideas how I can fix this problem?

    Thank you!

You can give your Mac networks less to evaluate to do by reducing the list of potential networks to one.

    Check this box:

  • 1 home 2 wifi networks

I just added an ethernet cable from my modem and run the floor and attached to an airport express.

I feel that I cannot expand my wifi network at the bottom and have created a new network on the floor.

Now, these two areas have wifi under the 2 networks.

The issue I'm having, which is on my iphones/ipads that they do not pass the network stronger depending on my location

Any ideas on how to give priority to networks or can extend a network with just an ethernet connecting my modem to the A/E?

The iPhone should be able to manage the channel width, otherwise, back to auto 20 / 40 Mhz.

If you can, go to 5 GHz, you will see an improvement in wireless performance much better.

Is the second configuration of the airport as a Repeater/Extender?

If Yes, get another cable ethernet and Garland like this-> Modem to AP1 to AP2

Give the same AP2 SSID and password as AP1, only she set to different channels.

    1,6,11 2.4 ghz and 5 GHz channels is 36 and 64 or 149 161

It works fine when it connects to the router provided by my ISP sky. But when I try to do the same when connecting to the network created by the airport, it won't work no-more precisely, I'm unable to select "link Multiroom' (step 19 in the link above).

Note: There is no problem connecting to the wifi network - it's this last step which is the issue.

Any ideas as to why this may be the case?  I need to use the extended network of the Hub of sky wifi is very low when the TV is.

    Here is the configuration...

  • ATV4 is unable to see WiFi networks

Each time my new ATV4 (TvOS 9.2.1) will lose the WiFi connection. When I try to reconnect it "sees" no WiFi network at all. My other devices (MacMini and several iPhones and iPads, smart TV, etc.) have no trouble finding my WiFi network or those of my neighbours. The ATV4 is almost line-of-sight with and about 3 meters (10 feet) from my router. My other ATV4, which was originally two concrete walls, never loses the WiFi connection.

The new ATV4 always restarting fixes the problem, but it seems that I wouldn't restart the ATV so that he can see the available WiFi networks.

I'd be inclined to try somewhere else to try to determine if the problem is inherent or due to your environment.
