• Activation of the streets and trips 2010

  My name is Jim.  I am trying to install streets & trips 2010 on my new laptop.  It has been previously installed and worked fine on my old laptop.  When you try to activate it on the new laptop and after you enter the correct product key, I get a "invalid or invalaid product key" notice.  I called MS activation service and they confirmed that my product key is valid.  Customer service says they can't help because phone activitation for this version does not work because this version is obsolete and cannot help me.  Can someone help me get beyond this issue, if I may use the product on my new laptop computer?

• problems with streets and trips 2010

  Sometimes, it works very well sometimes it doesn't.  My GPS location signal will always find a satellite and sometimes it never does.  Other times I have satellite signal and it goes straight... clear day on the road... no obstruction.  I bought the GPS receiver with my original version of the streets and trips 2007 (give or take a year).  Do I need a new?

  Yes, certanly you have both programs installed on the same computer. I currently have on my three laptop Microsoft mapping applications:streets & trips 2010, Highway 2010and MapPoint 2010. There is no conflict between them at all. Everyone settles in its own records. You can even have multiple versions of each on the same PC, for example you could keep an old streets & Trips 2009 on your netbook, install the new 2010 Street and remove the old 2009 a few weeks later after that you are satisfied with the performance of the new 2010.

  Each program operates independently, and the European version will not show the data of the product in North America, and vice versa.

• Streets &amp; trips 2010 download will not open on my or my wifs computer (both have vista)

  I was trying to open the free trail of streets & trips 2010 but it does not open. Looks like it is downloaded ok (when I go to properties it says that the file is of 1.32 GB) but whenever I try to open it, he keeps trying to install it or he only asks me if I want to uninstall or install, when I try to open it. At first, I thought it was my computer, then I asked my wife to install and run it on his own, but it does the same thing. We never had streets and trip previously loaded on computers. I downloaded from the microsoft site and CNET (2xs each). so I don't know what is the problem with our computers. has anyone else had a problem with the opening of the free trail 2010 also? Can U help?

• Message "computer meets the prerequisites to install this software" when trying to install Microsoft Streets and Trips 2011

  I tried to download Microsoft Streets and Trips 2011.

  When I try to download the same I get an error message indicating that the installation has detected that this computer does not meet the obligation to install this software.  The following blocking issues must be resolved before you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable package Setup software.  It also shows "a newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 has been detected on this computer.

  I'm on Windows 8 with the current version of windows.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  I tried in vain compatibility mode and tires another answer, I found in the community.  I deleted the 2010 x 64 and x 86 version 10.0.40219 of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and then installed Microsoft Streets and Trips without a hitch and it installed it own version of C++ 2010 is version 10.0.30318.  I hope that this will affect other programs.  Question - can you now install the new version without compromising the Streets and Trips program?

  From your description, it seems that you are not able to connect to the user account when you try to connect you get following error. The user profile Service has no logon

  This behavior can occur if the user profile was deleted manually using the command prompt or by using Windows Explorer. A profile that is manually deleted does not remove the security identifier (SID) of the list of profiles in the registry.

  If the SID is present, Windows will try to load the profile using the profile Image path that points to a nonexistent path. Therefore, the profile cannot be loaded.

  To resolve the problem with the user account, you can follow these steps:
  Method 1:
  (a) click Start, type regedit in the start search box, and then press ENTER.
  (b) search for, and then expand the following registry subkey:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

  (c) right click the SID that you want to remove, and then click on remove.
  (d) log on to the computer and create a new profile.
