• Why, suddenly, my desktop icons are difficult to align because they can be moved very small distances?

  For years, my desktop icons have acted as if they have so many 'slots' to enter in on the office. But this has never been a problem. They were easier to align because they were right next to each other, or a 'slot' above/below/apart.

  Now, for some reason, I can travel distances of small icons on the desktop, as if they were scalar elements which can be minimally pushed open. Suddenly there are not more "slots", and sort of paradoxically icons are more difficult to assemble and align because I have to keep their repositioning so that they are straight.   Every time after I get a Firefox Nightly update and run it, it will display the next page:

  But when it opens this page, all my desktop icons go clear/white and one by one, they all return with their correct icons. And all this happens in a few seconds.

  I suspect that you have both nightly and Firefox version installed?

  It's different from what you have first published here with!
  Firefox 33.1.1 represents the latest version - a 32-bit version.

  Whereas, the version you first posted here with was a generation of 64-bit channel every night from July. Every night is for "Alpha-testers" and is updated every day, where the name of "night".

  Everything that happens in the background on the Windows desktop should not be of concern right now, every night Win 64 bit is several months out.

  I am running Yosemite 10.10.5... When I share my screen with others, I want to hide my desktop icons. I used to have an option called "Show items on desktop" I unchecked when I right click on my desktop... How to re - activate this option/icon... or how do we do now? Thank you in advance.

  I guess that you don't want an AppleScript object parked on your desktop or Dock that someone could run to display the icons on your desktop. This is a Bash script that displays an AppleScript dialog box to allow you a choice of a normal life (crowded) or share (naked) desktop. Tested on OS X 10.11.4.

  Having just downloaded the latest Firefox update (I'm on the beta channel), as soon as it restarts, five of my desktop icons disappeared. I have more than 60 icons on my desktop and I don't remember what they are. Is it possible to know what icons have disappeared and the recovery please?

  I'm not sure what you have a problem with Firefox.

  Are you talking about icons on your Windows 7 desktop. In a standard installation, Firefox will try to add an icon on the desktop, but it shouldn't do something to remove the icons.

  has worked:

  Open Control Panel

     click on Display
         "    "  desktop
         "    "     customize desktop
         "     "       desktop items
         "     "          web
                              uncheck any sites listed

  I'm happy to announce that I now have my scanner to work.  I did as you suggested but I couldn't find an HPOfficejet file in the HP folder I found a bin folder in the folder of imagery but not scan.exe, but there was no scan file.exe inside.

  In any case, I have reinstalled the driver full features which I installed with the default settings.  When I got through everything that was there was the icon on my desktop solution Center.

  I did a scan and everything works fine.

  Make sure that Firefox is installed correctly.
  Open the image (DMG) disk Firefox with a double-click if necessary file and drag the Firefox program folder of the application on your hard drive.
  You should not double-click the Firefox application to run from the disk image and drag it out of the DMG file instead.

  My iMac will be either reboot or shutdown of the apple on the desktop icon. Items saved on the desktop disappear and the menu from the top of the screen disappears, then it is just in this mode for ever more. I then use the switch to stop, which is clearly not the best way to ensure the longtivity of my system.  I use El Capitan 10.11.3 [latest version] I have tried the following but still the same issue.

  1. I ran disk utility, but no hard drive errors appear.
  2. I stop after having disconnected all my other connections (USB components, components lightning etc.), but still no change.

  Before you contact Apple directly, just wondering if anyone else out there he has a similar problem. I had my hard drive 3 TB replaced a few months back, in line with a reminder official apple and this problem started to reign around one month or later.

  You should be able to right click on your desktop.  Select display and you will have a choice to select small, medium or large icons.
