Hi Frank,.

(1) what is the operating system installed on your computer?

(2) you have a Windows operating system installation media?

If you have a DVD of the Windows operating system and you are using Windows 7, I suggest you follow the steps given below to perform a startup repair in the Windows recovery environment (WinRe) and check if it helps.

To run auto repair on follow computer Windows as follows:

(a) Insert the media (USB or DVD) and restart your computer

(b) F12 key (usually it's F12, but it may differ between computer manufacturers) and choose the drive in which you inserted into the installation media.

Once the Windows Setup window appears, follow these steps:

(c) click on next and select repair your computer starts.

(d) the Startup Repair will now scan your computer to try to find and solve any teething problems.

(e) click the button reboot to return to the Windows login screen.

If you have additional questions, feel free to post. We will be happy to help you.

  • Start the Boot Manager

    Hi all

I installed Sierra but need to wipe my drive to improve performance and have implemented the installer of macOSSierra on a USB key and necessary to reach the Boot Manager to start the installation.

I think you hold down the Options/ALT key during restart to get to the Boot Manager, but nothing happens when I do that - it just goes to the login screen. I use a small apple wireless keyboard and wonder if it is active during the early stages of the startup?

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you in advance.

    Julian

When you use a wireless keyboard, you have to wait until after hearing of the Mac startup sound, then press on and hold the option key.

If you hold down option from the start key, the Mac will not see depression key because the function Bluetooth does not become active until after the initialization of the Mac hardware.

  • HP Pavilion 21-h010la stuck in the HP splash screen.

Hello. I'm having a problem with my computer. When I try to turn it on, it gets stuck in the HP loading screen. I used the PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and he says that it meets the test, even if the SMART hard disk check returns a WARNING. The program didn't give me all the instructions to fix it later. Do I need to change?

    Hi there @mafi11235,

That the Forums are with you!  It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that your computer is stuck on the HP logo at the start, and that he was a WELL-INFORMED driver error message. I'm happy to help you with this.

If you get a SMART disk error, so it is normally a warning of impending failure, based on testing the drive runs itself. This could mean the drive is defective or shows signs of failure, but in general you want to replace it and try to make a backup of your data as much as you can, until it was inaccessible.

You have recovery media or already made for Windows 10 recovery disc? If this isn't the case, you will want to get some for your system. Computers HP - get HP recovery disks or HP USB recovery disc

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • T420 stuck on the startup Lenovo screen

Hi I'm new to this community, so I would like to applogise if I have something simillar to mist (I checked some but not solved my problem).

I have a thinkpad t420, I bought a used one. It worked great, and I bought a friend, that I trust. I installed an SSD, was usnig Linux, and everything worked for a month. But then I bought a HARD drive caddy and replaced the CD-ROM. After that my thinkpad has worked for a day (although he does not recognize the second HDD). The next day, I tried to find BIOS for some parameters and after I restarted my laptop, it was stuck on the startup Lenovo screen, reboot loop. I tried:

-removing and replacing the caddy with the CD rom.

    -replace my SSD drive,

    -replace the RAM (two locations),

    -Reset BIOS,

-launch a diagnostic CD (but it does not start, nor can I boot from a USB key)

My google search showed that he could bi a problem with one of the USB pins inside one of the ports (short circuit or something like that), but I couldn't find any damage. So I'm thinkig that the motherboard may be damaged, but I can access BIOS, but it's the only thing I can do with it.

I'd be thenkful Walker of any advice or help, before moving on to official Lenovo service for help. Thnak you!

    Z.

You can always source a new mobo on eBay, or any part on your T420 to recover some costs.

There is no problem at all except that initially to laptop, I get this [http://tinypic.com/r/se7uja/6].

3 Win 7 entries in the Boot Manager

I always choose the first and all is well.
It's like the old copy of win does not delete but one that I formatted disks...

Y at - it an option to get rid of him?
I don't mind reinstalling again if I know it will help.

    Hello

I seems that Boot Manager Windows 7 contains three entries and the other two entries are useless.

I think you can remove the last two entries in the Boot Manager.
    How to do this?
Well, I m using the EasyBCD software.
It is a free tool and you can easily manage this settings.

    After installation, start the tool.
In EasyBCD toolbar, you can check the option called Add/Remove entries.
Well, I think that here you should be able to remove the last two entries.

  • Marshmallow stuck on the boot loop after encryption

Hello! I have improved my motorcycle G 2nd Gen to Marshmallow Friday. Today, I chose the option to encrypt my phone for security reasons, and once I chose the model and it restarts, it is stuck on the boot animation. Unlocking scheme but then returns the boot animation shows and pass. After more than 4 hours, I tried to enter the quick recovery and it says that the device is locked. I have tried factory reset without the quick recovery result. If I turn off the phone it boots on its on and so on and so forth.

    The model is XT1068.

Activation of the encryption on the 2nd Gen Moto G is not a good idea, unless you are really paranoid. It's too slow as the CPU supports a few commands that deal with some of the encryption at the hardware level.

  • Multi Boot options: where is the Boot Manager?

In the future I want to run Win7 64 bit, XP 32-bit and another OS.  So a triple boot.  I use 3 small SSD or I can triple 2 small SSD partition and run them in Raid 0.  I am attracted by the latter due to the increase in performance.  I wonder where is stored the Boot Manager and can I put it on all 3 drives if I go with this scenario.  I am looking for better control, I guess.  Mechanical control is far superior to the software control but is not always available unfortunately.

    Find the folder in C:\Boot.

Once Windows 7 is installed the boot.ini file is no longer used (do not delete it, just does not make any changes)

EasyBCD can manage the names and the startup list:

  • How do I repair/recharge the Boot Manager for Win XP without the OEM disks?

I have an IBM Thinkpad G41 with a configuration dual-boot for awhile. I am donating to the laptop at my church and must remove Linux (don't ask) and make XP installed OS only.
The problem is that I need rebuild/repair Manager start Windows from the installation of Linux successor whit its own boot manager (Grub).
I have not the disc XP OS then where can I find the Boot Manager or the files that I need to reload/reconstruction.
XP fills the primary partition on the HARD drive.
While I can let it load Linux installed it would be useless to anyone and just takes place.

Try to do a forced shutdown... Virtual Machine menu > Option key > Force Shut Down

Take a look on: switch Power controls from the default Options
