Stuck on "Configuring updates stage 3 of 3 0% complete

I have a windows Vista x 32 on a Dell portable system.  He was fully functional when I finally stopped him.  I just started to find the Stage 3 the page shown growth of 0% of Windows Update, then it restarts. Stuck in this loop.  Have tried using F8 to boot into safe mode, to get the last proper installation and prevent automatic reboot, without success, she keeps just reboot.  Also tried the systems repair, but with my drive encrypted, it doesn't seem to work. What can I try?

    Hello there,
I desperately need help... I don't want to have to reload Vista Home Premium and all my software and get all authenticated (which total galley is the procedure!) once again. I installed the latest Java today from Java.com and everything seems to work very well. I thought that after 1/2 hour It sinply would not go anywhere, so I used Ctrl-alt-del to cancel then restarted and Western digital software.

Now my computer is going in circles. It goes like this:

    -power on
    -beep system
    -Microsoft animation line starts
    -screen goes black
    -Orb appears
    -"Curtain" screen comes on saying:

Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3-0% complete
Do not turn off your computer

    -system reboots

And it just happens again and again and again. He never at my office. I tried starting with the last start of 'good', safe

Can it be fixed without having to do a major resettlement me?

    Hey Janeynflorida

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

  • Configuring updates stage 3 of 3 0% complete reboot keeps to this page

I have a hp laptop which has vista. I downloaded updates for. He said 14 were successful and 8 failed. After having their downloaded, he went to the screen that shows the configuration of updates do not stop computer. He is said to 3 of 3 0% complete and turns off. When it restarts it comes back on the same screen and then stops and comes back to this same page. I tried to go into safe mode, but it stops said this in safe mode. I hit f8 and tried to make something out of this screen. When I hit the choice of remedy, it asks for a password. I've never had a password. It doesn't let me do anything without him. I was the only one to have this laptop. I'm completely frustrated by this. Can someone help me with this?
