Stuck on the recovery disc #1
I am trying to create a disk recovery for my new dv3-2150.
The Recovery Manager HP telling me to put in the 1st 3 DVD-r
After burning it, it ejects the disc and writes a message on the screen:
Enter the disk you just created and close the player.
I do this - and nothing happens... the only thing I can do is "Cancel".
Tried to change the drive, tried to boot... Any IDE?
BTW-can not order by post the disc of HP recovery at this time.
Solved!
I called the local support and that's what they said and it worked right away:
(1) use the secure when burning discs
(2) ESS 'dvd + r disks' - they are more sutale for the dvd player
BTW - some support centers will tell you to upgrade the BIOS, some have told me it back to the original version. In my opinion it made no difference and the safe mode was the reason why he's working. I guess that some files are currently in use and had all stuck...
What would you do if when you bought a new car, you couldn't get a spare key? Need to consult the internet for a way to run to the store to get a proper special key and make sure that your car runs on special fuel for the key to work?
Sounds like a good joke? However, it works.
Happy new year to everyone.

Re: The recovery disc restores my important applications
Hello.
About two weeks ago, I used the Recovery Media Creator to restore my laptop to its factory and create the 4 dvd recovery media.
I had an important application installed.
Would it not possible to recover these media?Thank you very much
Hello
Do you mean the 3rd party applications that you installed after the laptop has been configured?
No, these applications are not part of the created recovery disks.
The recovery disc contains only the image of Toshiba.
The image is a package that contains the Windows system, the driver Toshiba and the tools and applications like Win DVD or similar -
Re: Tecra M9 - using the recovery disc
Hello, can someone please help.
I don't have a model Tecra M9. PTM90E-05700WEN serial No. Y76875H professional XP operating system.
The problem I have is as follows - I would like to reset the machine back to factory settings, I have the product recovery disc that came with it as well as the Microsoft Office Basic 2007 license key.
Instructions on the cover of the album simply say "insert the first disc in the drive and turn off the computer. Turn on your computer while keeping the F12 key. Use the cursor keys to select the optical disc drive in the menu. Follow the who make their appearance on the screen. »
Problem # 1 - I only have one disc, I can certainly say that I have lost. instructions refer to "first record suggesting there is more than one. The disc I have is clearly marked "product recovery". There are some numbers on the disc namely - GMR400776EN0 and also SD124219 of CD.
The disc is also clearly marked Microsoft Windows XP Professional.Problem # 2 - when I make the instructions above, nothing else that the system starts normally. I can assure you that I am pressing F12 before the opening of Windows.
I don't get the option to select anything and even less the optical disk drive. I tried several times but always the same result.
Otherwise, I've tried - using the F8 key button brings up options menu, ie SafeMode etc etc work, but nothing referring to fix the computer.
Press and hold 0 then that until the computer starts.
Best regards and many thanks
Hello
Tecra M9 is older model laptop so method with F8 or zero will not work.
The instructions are nothing else than the General instructions and not written for your Tecra M9 only. Recovery image is not the same for all models of laptops. They are so different with some laptops, there is a disc only, but with some models, there are two disks.
I believe you when you say you've got a disc only.
How to start recovery disc installation there are three methods:
-Start Notepad and enter the BIOS settings > change the boot order and put the CD/DVD drive as the first boot device.
-key c close several times to start laptop. This will force the optical disc drive to be the first boot device.
-start your laptop and press F12 repeatedly to enter the boot menu. Place the recovery disc into the optical disc drive, choose the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.Please test all these methods and send feedback.

Re: I lost the recovery disc 1 for Satellite P10
Hi there, my son lost the recovery disc 1 for its Satellite P10.
We got disc 2 (drivers) but no disc 1.Where can I get an another restore disc 1. and what it cost around.
Post edited by: merdat
Hello
Usually you could order the ASP in your country, but I m not very well that if you will be able to order this disc because the P10 is an old notebook series and possibly the recovery discs are not more available for this model.
However, you must contact the ASP in your country to get a confirmation.
Maybe you are a lucky man and the CD is available.Good luck

What is the recovery disc include - Satellite A300?
Hello. I have a laptop Satellite A300.
I have seen that my computer has 1 hidden partition in the first drive and another recovery file in the second disc.(1) what is the difference between the 2?
(2) I accidentally deleted the file on the second drive, and now I am unable to create a recovery disc, so I need to order a new one. What is the disk? It only installs the operating system, or it will also include some of the software came with my laptop (Microsoft works, using the camera software and so on...)
Thank you.
(1) it's pretty easy. The hidden partition contains the Windows recovery environment and the file on the second partition in HARD disk recovery file, factory settings or leave a picture of her.
The recovery environment is a feature of Vista, not a Toshiba. If you want to return factory settings, or to reinstall Windows, you need the HARD drive recovery function or the Toshiba recovery disc.
Here is a useful link to the recovery environment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WinRE(2) the reason why you can t create the recovery disk is that you deleted the file. On the second partition in HARD disk recovery file is normally only for this image and this can also be used for the recovery of HARD drive feature. Therefore, you need to go into the advanced boot menu and select Repair my computer. But now it s too late and you can t use this feature.
If you want the recovery disc, you can order directly into a new to Toshiba:
https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx
The recovery disk contains the operating system and all the drivers and tools you need for the Toshiba laptop.I m that you have right didn't look in the manual? ;)
Otherwise you all know what I told you. -
Satellite Pro L300 - can I use the recovery disc back Vista?
On my computer I am dual boot Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
Could get rid of Vista and then later could use the recoevery drive to recover vista?PS I know it erases the entire hard drive
Hello
Of course, you can use the Toshiba Recovery disk to go back to Vista. It contains a picture of the factory settings and this means that the Vista preinstalled with all the drivers and tools.
But note that the recovery disc erase the drive HARD integer for you should backup your data first before using the recovery disk.
Good bye

Satellite U300-13U does not start and the recovery disc fails to too much work
Hi all
I have the above computer (or should I say my wife) & it is nothing that a good pain since the first day we got it.
I have had it about 2 years & had to reformat the HD at least 6-8 times using the product recovery disc as laptop starts.
The laptop runs Vista. In any case, problem I have now is that new laptop does not start, but for some reason any product recovery disc also does not work...
What I can do...I have read on various forums that it might work if I reformat the HD first using some s/w on a bootable CD but how / what S/W can I use...?
The laptop has a SATA HD 160 GB installed. How can I check that it all works.
I don't know if the current problem is S/W or related material...Toshiba has a utility that I can use...?
Thanks a lot for all the help...
John
Hello
What happened exactly?
Do you receive error messages by using the recovery disk?Check if the HARD drive is OK! You can check in the BIOS.
If the HARD drive is listed in the BIOS then the HARD drive and HARD drive found BIOS is not dead.Usually, you might start Notepad with the help of a Live disc for example Bart PE
It s a bootable windows CD/DVD livehttp://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
This can allows you to format the HARD disk, and then use the recovery disc!

I had problems with my office for awhile now, think it might be a fan, virus, hard drive or ram as in my previous post... the computer would freeze/crash or not stop, requiring a firm hard. trying to reboot/restart computer, it would beep several times until I have let it sit for a few minutes, then everything was back to normal (found that might have been an error in the BIOS after all this happened)...
Now, I have NOT touched or replaced all the components on my computer at all. Nothing! Now I have a debate on the upgrade of OS and RAM, but did not decide whether it was worth on this older machine. So I have done no amendment or change in software. the only change I made to it was not renew norton and goes with vast (free).
The other day, it suddenly wouldn't boot Win Vista 32 in all. My monitor at startup (before config utility appears) had colored vertical lines across the screen. I immediately thought 'virus' or ' fan isn't card graphic blown is screwed/false driver downloaded... I enter safe mode with network, no problem with the monitor (no lines) and tried driver restore, but also to download nividia the updated. Nothing seemed to work except safe mode (s), system configuration, start the Setup program, CTRL I (don't remember which menu is), & screen of the system restore/repair/diagnose. I tried all the reboot thing pilots config, patterns of change (hard disk only), boot it. When you go to the splash screen (a back screen on startup), no line either... I tried the system restore, did not a thing... I tried the verification of diagnosis, all right... all equipment, the repair of the system did nothing...
So I take the side box power off to check the components inside to see if any wiring was loose, fans not working/salty, etc... everything OK there besides fan a little dirty. Clean, same thing. Here comes the fun part...
Now, I backed up all my files and 'backup' on my external hard drive... I thought that I had made the recovery discs or he had came with it when I bought it... I changed the configuration settings RAID0 by removing the old installation and turned to the raid no drives. Then, I created a RAID0 again... I guess you know where this is going...
He said now insert the boot cd... Now, it of not anything but let me in Control Panel and change the startup preferences...
I have no recovery disk or I can't find what happened if I have... with backup (for USB) external drives will not work... I kind of looking online hp without result and I saw some online, but that seems pretty shady, especially with the case of the OS...
I will not buy another office, if I can help it, but I need to know if there is something I can do?
Thank you
.
Hello:
Yes, I've been able to do it once, but you also need an operating system installation disk. You need a USB FDD + OS installation disc and the correct drivers of course on the floppy drive.
You can use a recovery for this drive yet. It must be an OS installation disc.
Yes have ultimate could be a problem. If you enter your model number on this site of surgeons in the computer, you get a lot of options showing the recovery disks for different versions of the OS, but only had listed actually drives.
You need to call HP and ask or email these surgeons computer guys and see if they have the recovery disc for ultimate games.

Reset factory settings but the recovery disc is not recognized
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3030sd laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium installed OA.
I want to restore it to factory settings, but is not possible using Recovery Manager, because he does not see my recovery Partition.
Since I have recovery discs, I tried to restore my factory settings using the recovery discs.
However, it is also not possible. Even after setting my BIOS (boot order first DVD player) the laptop not start using the DVD player.
Then performed several actions (eventally I still adjusted registry) as mentioned by microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/en-us?
Still not possible to start using a DVD player.
It goes the same for USB.
I can use my DVD player and USB but I can't boot from them.
How do I restore my laptop to factory settings?
I still have my product key and I was able to record an English version of Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 as an image on a DVD.
What can I do?
Is it possible to mount it on my virtual DVD drive (BD - ROM drive) (so the picture of windows 7 in the virtual DVD drive and then install it?)
I hope that there is someone out there who is able to help me!
Hello
Sometimes just set the boot priority in the bios menu does not work as it should.
Try the following.
Insert your 1st recovery disk, and then click stop the laptop.
Now on TAP the ESC key as soon as you start the launch of the laptop Boot Menu.
Select boot options ( f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER. You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.
Kind regards

How can I get WIndows8 TouchSmart to boot from the recovery disc
How can I get WIndows8 TouchSmart to boot from the recovery disc? With the recovery in the drive disk when I do a reboot or stop and start it does not read anything from the DVD player. My computer is a HP TouchSmart 23-D160QD.
You may need to change the boot order to boot from the DVD drive first. The steps to do this are in the document below.
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00364979
These are recovery disks made by the recovery discs sent by HP? They will not work in a different system (you will receive an error message), but you are able to get the boot floppies in a different system? They should be able to start up to a point where the error message will be displayed.

When I try to make the recovery discs I get 'Sonic PX.dll not found'
I'm doing the recovery disc for my Windows Vista desktop.
I check the box 'create a recovery disc for future use.
On the next screen, I get the error message "Sonic: PX.dll not found."
Help would be appreciated.
Hello
You will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer using the recovery disks do.
Your computer manufacturer has implemented their own recovery discs manufacturing process, and is not a process of Microsoft Vista.
You can, with some manufacturers still buy recovery discs.
See you soon.

"Minimize the Image Recovery" since the recovery discs?
the "reduced Image Recovery" is possible from the recovery discs? Installation win7pro from the recovery disks from HP on an SSD completely wiped for Elitebook 8560p.
Not really something to see. From what I remember - was among other things - I have started from the disks and reduced has been one of the options. He didn't choose because I was doing a Factory reset for all restored partitions and laptop computer at State embedded. (I had already deleted the recovery partition & partitioned the hard drive for dual boot with Windows 8)
