Stuttering playback of mono ogg-vorbis files

Hi all

I recently bought a Sansa Clip 4 GB and updated to the latest firmware (v02.01.32a). I am happy to use obb-vorbis files, but have met stuttering playback when you listen to mono ogg-vorbis files. In particular I listen to an audiobook on librivox.org page:

http://LibriVox.org/Walden-by-Henry-David-Thoreau/

The first ogg file works, but all others stutter. After a bit of inspection using ogginfo, I discovered that the first file is stereo, while the remaining files are mono. I tried to re - encode using oggenc as Audacity using the nominal flow of 80 Kbps. All mono files I did expose the problem of stuttering.

I then did a stereo version of the file by duplicating the mono track in Audacity. The stereo file I did read correctly. Creating a file mono downmixing the stereo file new work with oggenc produces a file that stutters during playback.

All files read correctly in Windows Media Player with the official DirectShow filters installed.

Anyone else having this problem or know of a work around? I really want to use ogg format!

Thank you

Tyler

I decided to reformat and reinstall the latest firmware (using the MSC approach instead of the update of the firmware on Windows). All the ogg files play correctly now.

Thanks for the encouragement!

  • Recorded TV unwatchable in Media Center, due to stuttering playback

I think I understood the problem.  I don't know how to fix it.

Symptoms: Very bad TV in Media Center because of stuttering playback recordings (a few seconds) and the possible freezing.

    Here are the facts:

I discovered that the Watch works perfectly fine in Media Player.

I then discovered that the NEWLY recorded shows work without problem.  Shows that cause problems took place during the Media Center in XP - prior to my installation of Windows 7.  (They were on my external hard drive).

These are dvr - ms instead of the most recent WTV files.

I don't know why they won't play in Media Center, however.  Would it not a 64-bit from 32-bit problem?

In fact, I think I have it solved!

I tried with a file last night and 15-20 minutes of listening, I had no stuttering.  I'll try tonight with others.

It's actually a really stupid and simple solution.  Frankly, I have no idea why it would work.

What I did: I changed the extension of the filename of tv in wtv dvr - ms files.  THEN I right click on the file and says windows to "convert dvr - ms.

Looks like it could actually work.  I'll post again after having consulted others.

There are some codecs, you can add to WMP but I've never really used them, Media Monkey will play and label.

    Deal all,

But the transformation (FFT, elippse fitting, fitting sinewave) I want to use these data in MATLAB. I tried some options like waveform of conwert bin file, but I can't get this data into MATLAB correctly. I also convert waveform data (or data from a waveform) using WriteToSpreadsheetFile.vi, but still I can correctly get data in MATLAB. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Hello

    1. facing this problem with the .asx format?
    2. you remember to make changes to the system?
    3. where is the file?

Error message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:"). »
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported by the player or not supported by the server.
If you encountered this error by clicking a link on a Web page, the link isn't valid.
If you encountered this error by typing a URL in the open URL dialog, try opening the file using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:").
The following is a list of protocols supported by the player and the correct URL syntax examples:

    (a) MMS://serveur/nom_fichier (for example, a file with a .wma, .wmv, .asf, or .mp3 extension)
    (b) http://server/filename
    (c) rtsp://server/filename
    (d) mms://server/sami.asf? SAMI = http://server/sami/sami_demo.smi (SAMI file)
If the Player supports the protocol you used in the URL and you can't always read the content, check that the drive is configured to use all of its supported protocols.

    To configure the protocol settings
    (a) in the Player Windows Media, on the Tools menu, click Options.
    (b) in the Options dialog box, on the tab of network in the Streaming protocols area, select all the checkboxes (Multicast, UDP, TCP, and HTTP) Protocol, so that a check mark appears in each.
    (c) note that the supported protocols can be used only to distribute digital media files. Windows Media Player cannot be used as a browser.
If the fixes above don't work, you can rename the folder of information network for the drive so that it can rebuild its information network files after restarting it.

To rename the folder of information networking of player.

  • Playback/record to the text files using HTML5 as a basis for the code

Hi, I'm new and I did some research and I found a variety of solutions that seemed a little more complicated than I want. I would like someone to direct me to something that could teach me how to do two things.

It is not necessary to try and catch.

  • DW CC 2014 MPEG4 (.mp4), Ogg Vorbis (.ogv) and video Formats support WebM (.webm) taken?

I'm sure that the answer is no, but I need to check if these formats are supported in DW or must be coded manually.  I know that HTML5 and Flash video are supported.

    Thank you!

    Jerry

HTML5 video is MP4, WEBM and OGG.

And Yes, the HTML5 video embed code is supported by DW CS6 and above.

Go to the menu insertion , HTML5 video.   Do not use the Flash.  It is a web technology dead.

  • Windows Explorer does not display the ogg metadata

I ripped my CD to OGG (Vorbis) files and the appropriate metadata are included with them (or at least appear in Winamp and iTunes).

But in Windows Explorer, when I look at a list detailed files, the news of the album/artist/etc do not show, the fields are all empty. When right-clicking on the file and selecting 'Properties', it only shows the details of the file (such as the path of folder, update) but has no field at all (not even empty fields) for info related to music.

How can I get these similar areas such as ID3v2 tags for MP3 files, to display OGG Vorbis files?

    Thank you.

    Hi Suzuki650,

Unfortunately, he has no such functionality present in windows to display the ogg metadata, you must have any third-party program to make this option on your computer, to do that you need to use your favorite search engine and search the Internet for the third-party program that integrates this feature.

  • Clip of battery problem - 8 GB

I have a 8 GB Clip (V02.01.32A)... .on 5 months old. I got it through Amazon. The backlight is on 5 seconds and automatic brightness more low, is set to 60 minutes, detect the auto USB mode.

How long the battery is supposed to last? If I past all day at work (8-9 hours), it can cut at the end of the day due to low battery. It turns you off. Friends who have iPods tell their battery lasts all day to a few days of use on the job.

For this reason, I have to charge it every night. If by chance I forgot, I'm fucked up and without the player overnight.

Is - this common, it lasts only 8-10 hours? I do something wrong that drains the battery? I need to contact Sansa because it's relatively new Clip?

    Thanks for any advice.

What format is your music and what rate?  Different formats (ogg vorbis) may require more processing power than others (for example mp3).  Also, you let your player usually only to play or do you frequently use the controls (which can cost more energy)?  And what level of volume do you play your music (higher volume uses more energy)?

You really can't compare to the battery Clip and the consumption of the battery with other players, as friends do, as their players and batteries (depending on model) likely are much more important.

8-10 hours, according to the foregoing, surprisingly, as with ogg vorbis files, or with a lot of adjustments of player throughout the day.  With few adjustments and MP3 files, it would sound a little weak.

Is something you could do, plug in your current player alternative to the office, if that is convenient.  Beyond extending from the daily diet, it will also expand total lifetime of the battery.

  • Mp3Tag stupid question...

Based on a large number of the recommendations made by the members of the forum here, I've recently switched to Mp3Tag as my primary tag editor.  With Mp3 files, everything is exactly as it should and I can create perfect tags easily.

I also am a new convert to the format ogg vorbis on my ears, this format sounds far superior to Mp3.

Now, here's what I saw.  It is not a big problem yet I understand that the "rocket" has limited support for the ogg tags / Flac now.  In any case... I noticed that with Mp3Tag, my album art is not embedded in the ogg file. It just creates a folder.jpg image.  However, if I create tags using another program to tag file (tag & rename) the album art gets embedded in the file.

Am I missing a procedure or a set-up with Mp3tag?  As I said, it really isn't a big deal right now... but I thought that if I am worried about getting the correct tags now, I might as well have the album art embedded in the file for future players and abilities.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

After doing some research, it seems that Mp3Tag does not support album art embedded with ogg vorbis files.  I base this on two things.  No mention of incorporation of album art has been mentioned on the forum of Mp3Tag and 2) for embedded album art works correctly in ogg vorbis two additional fields to be generated:

    COVERART

    COVERARTMIME

I have found no way to tell Mp3Tag to include extra fields 2.

No worries.  This function supports the tag & rename
