Sub-Folders

I created an empty folder in my favorites (my network places) and I'm putting the other folders inside so that they become subfolders. They do not seem to drag into the new folder. How can I get them all in a new folder that I made?

In IE: In the Menu bar click Favorites | Organize Favorites. You can move the files there?
Otherwise, ask a in Forum Internet Explorer

  • AppleScript to move mail to sub-sub-folders?

I need help for an Applescript script.

When I upgraded my OS X, all of my mail archives went AWOL.  I had them on Time Machine, but they are deep down in the subfolders.  And there are many of them.  (Example below).

I'm putting messages out of the sub-sub-folders.

I tried to write an AppleScript, but it does nothing:

(where "-source" and "-target" are temporary test mailboxes.)

I think that it cannot be recursing into sub-sub-folders.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

Because each mailbox to a mailbox, return the mailboxes at the root of the source folder.

    Examples:

each mailbox to mailbox 'import', return of mailbox "0drafts".

each mailbox to mailbox "0drafts", return of mailbox "B9FA3AB1-...". »

    each 'data', return mailbox mailbox {mailbox, mailbox '8', '7' mailbox, mailbox '3' "9" ""}

The script need a recursive handler like this:

    -------------------

    Tell application "Mail".

the value in the mailbox mSource "-source.

    mailbox value dest "-target".

    tell the end

    My getSubMailboxes_moveMSGs (mSource, dest)

    on getSubMailboxes_moveMSGs (s, d)

    Tell application "Mail".

move the messages from s to d

Repeat with thisSubMBox (get s mailboxes)

    My getSubMailboxes_moveMSGs (thisSubMBox, d)

    end repeat

    tell the end

    end getSubMailboxes_moveMSGs

  • How can I get the Photo screen saver to use sub folders?

In XP, it would display all the photos on the hard drive, or if I chose "My pictures" he would use all the photos in this main folder, as well as all photos in sub folders. With Win7 I can't get to use the photos in a specific folder. IIRC, in XP, you can even select the files to include and exclude?

My HD is partitioned and I use C: for OS and programs and D: for docs, FYI.

It's working now. I have a click with the right button on the D: drive, wriggling on "Include in the library" and clicked on "Images". Not positive this is what fixed it, because I'm not sure how to UN - include it in the Library A - b test. But as long as it works...

  • Search for primary file + Sub-folders

Okay, I know how to locate a specific file in a specified place; but now I need a way to locate a specific file in a general situation.  Basically I have a library of textures with their exact file name.  Well, I still don't know their exact location.  For example, I have to run through my script "brushed_aluminum.jpg" textures, but I don't know exactly where it is, I just know that it's somewhere in my file textures (c:\textures\ for the sake of simplicity).  Now, in c:\textures\ there are several subfolders (and possibly sub-sub-folders, etc.) it might be in.  How would I go to have the script to find the file in this location, then get his exact path and store the exact path + name of file to a variable?  Thanks for any help!

  • Sub folders, I added using VIsta with Windows Mail, disappeared

Subfolders that I added were to sort my important emails.  I tried to restore unscuccessfully.  Standard folders are like inbox, outbox, sent items, etc.

If subfolders are not in the deleted items, or became the subfolders to another folder (look for it +), then you have problems.

You can try to find them with this tool. Uncertain, but worth a try.

  • favorite folders no longer work after upgrading 31.5.0

I have a few files that have different subfolders. These have been created through the filters of gmail. Some of my subfolders marked as Favorites, some are not.

The new, embarrassing behavior after the update is that umbrella, or superfolders, records appear in the Favorites panel, even if they are not marked as Favorites.

It's cluttering up my favorites list because some of my favorites are actually sub sub-sub-folders.

I found a solution. It turns out that there are two ways to view favorite folders. I was in "Favorite folders", but I had to be in "Favorite Folders - View Compact," to things like what I was used to.

  • How can I move all messages and folders in 'Local folder' in the folder of my main account? The local stuff is to import from Outlook

I imported my mail from Outlook, and they went into a local folders. I want that they in the main folder for the my account section. How can I move them there?
For the moment, I create each folder and then copy the contents of one folder to another - crazy, and I have dozens of files

    DOH!

After spending most of last night slowly moving the files from the Local level to the account that it's a little late for me to go back the other way, but what you suggested looks like it could work.
Still seems simpler to 'right click' a folder and "move it" and all subfolders to have it move properly as well. Of course your test produces a different result for me. I wasn't able to drag all the folders with the sub folders and the contents of these subfolders go with it, only the contents of the main folder is gone.
Still, as I said, I have now done most probably time call it a day on this topic and I hope that all similar problems see your answer above - cheers.

  • Can not save attachments in Windows Mail in Vista Local folders or subfolders

I have a new Vista 64 system and I have actually two problems.  First of all, I can't move old emails (more 2 G total) of my XP Outlook Express email on my old laptop in Vista 64 - bit Windows Mail on my new desktop.  Files folders and the content may be downloaded, but have not been recognized and installed by Win. Mail.  I talked to several computer technicians who could not find a solution except either to send the emails from old files individually or as a group to myself to my server (Yahoo more).  Is there a better solution?  Secondly, when I send my self a such email with multiple attachments and I try to save, I can't find a thread that will lead to my Windows Mail > local folders > Inbox >(folders and sub-folders).  Nor can I drag-and - drop these saved emails (they contain many different endings) to these files. Help, please.

    Hello Mmmaltby,

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

A common method to transfer everything via is to use the Export command in Outlook Express to save all messages and contacts to separate files, copy them to the Vista PC and then use the option import (on the file menu) to import the data into Windows Mail.

If please reply and let us know if your problem is resolved or if you need more help

  • Lost folders in outlook express

I use ouutlook express 6 as my primary e-mail use and have encountered a problem. from the beginning until today that I lost the sub folders in my Inbox. I do not have to delete or move, and the only thing that comes to mind is that when I received an e-mail from someone who asks a receipt that it somehow has creatted my problem. However, the reception was for a known consignee and so I don't think it was doubtful. in any case I'm not wise on computers so that has baffled me and don't know where to look. I searched my computer with keywords (file names), but that was unsuccessful. only other thing to mention is that I ran ashampoo winoptimizer 2007, but can't see how this would create the problem.

The message store folder is the Outlook Express folder that you did drag the dbx files. My first reply gave you this place.

Part of the process, is that they have to be out before the newly created folder will recognize them.

Create a folder in the folder tree OE with the same name as one of your files. For example: you have a Mail.dbx file. Create a folder in the OE and the name of this Mail.

Open this repetoire and then close OE. You must complete this part.

Now, go back to Windows Explorer. Expand the path to the Outlook Express folder, but do not open it.

Click on the desktop at the top of the folder hierarchy. In the right pane, you will see all your desktop icons and dbx files.

Drag the Mail.dbx file to the Outlook Express folder. When it becomes blue, let it go and you should see the prompt to overwrite it. Click Yes.

Make lather, rinse, repeat for other folders. Bruce Hagen MS - MVP [Mail]

  • Records Windows mail disappeared (local folders (1))?

My windows mail subfolders are missing - all my emails are now just in the Inbox.

I checked in the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\ Mail\Local folders of Windows - and there are now 2 folders in Windows Mail:

Local folders - which is my original Sub-folders

Local folders (1) - which has the new layout with just the Inbox

Please can someone tell me how to restore the original file from local folders?

    Thank you

You must check for interference antivirus in Winmail because it is the biggest problem he has.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Then you should compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUti/).  If that doesn't fix things, then the best you can do is start all over again and rename the Windows Mail Windows old Mail directory.  Then create a new directory which replaces the former called Windows Mail.  Then start WinMail.  This will give you a basis of messages not corrupted.  Then, once it works fine, you can go to the file. Import | Messages and import them from the old directory (you might need to import twice, then point to each local folders in the older directory.

  • Is there a program that well to remove all my duplicate personal folders?

I don't know what happened, but now I have 10 copies of each, my itunes is all crazy

    Hello

You can read their comments and decide which you want to use

Auslogics Duplicate File Finder helps you to find duplicate files that are likely to be scattered all over your hard drive. The program can compare files based on size, date, content and name. You can select several folders (with Sub-folders) or an entire drive to analyse, specify the methods used to determine the files double and then view the results list and delete files that you no longer need.

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/ausdupe.html

AllDup allows you to find the files duplicated on one or several folders or drives. You can choose to match files by size, date, attributes and content comparison byte by byte and also various settings to exclude certain file types or the search folders. AllDup then analyze selected records and produce a list of all files duplicate was found. The list is organized into groups, which makes it easy to manage results and process the files. You can manually select the files that you consider to be duplicates, or you can use the options of Intelligent selection that allows you to automatically select the files based on their date or folder. Duplicate files can be processed in different ways, you can choose to delete, move or copy them to a different folder or rename them in their current location. Other features include export search results, customized search profiles, a built-in file extract, ID3 tags support and more.

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/AllDup.html

Fast Duplicate File Finder can help you find the duplicate files that are located in one or more folders. Duplicates are presented as groups, and you can check either manually the files to process or use the auto check feature to automatically check the files with the old file dates. Additional options allow you to exclude files to be auto-vérifier if they fit certain criteria (extension, size, string etc.). Selected files can then be deleted or moved to another folder. Other features include a built-in preview, file system, support for removable media protection and more.

  • Folders and files disappear from libraries, but are still in the original file if watched by digging c:-why?

When I add a folder to the library he sews it is only a matter of time before the sub folders and/or files such as word documents. It just stop appearing in library view, but are still present in the "Explorer". The Explorer view would be if I'm going to the C: drive and drill down to the original location of the folder/file in question. I use the professional version. My wife has the same problem in its home version of Windows 7. I love Windows 7 but I lose patience with the file system.

I solved the problem with "hidden" files The answer is a little embarrassing. When I imported my files in W7 in XP they missed to 'sort by date/time. Because they were alphabetically in XP, the order of the new date set match alphabetically on the first import in W7. I didn't know they were are more sorted by name because the order of date / hour now equated the name order. I opened each file the file sort order has changed and it settles at the bottom of the list that is logical, newest at the bottom. It seemed to me that I was lost files because they fell in alphabetical order and moving toward the bottom of the list. Once I clicked on sort by file name everything came back and worked well since. Sorry, I should have posted this a long time ago.

  • OneDrive supports folders? This day - apparently not, and that would make it useless for me.

Hi, I have what I know is a very basic about OneDrive question:

Support files - including those created after OneDrive is installed on a given computer?

I have a simple setup: a laptop running Windows 8.1 and a desktop computer running Windows 7.

The Win8.1 laptop has already OneDrive.  For the Office of Win7, I installed the OneDrive app.

When I ran the OneDrive applic, it seems that he asked me what records I would like to share. It worked.

I can create a file in OneDrive on the laptop, the highest level (that is, * not * in any folder) and it appears on the Win7 desktop case and visa versa.

    * But now - when I create a folder on the laptop to Win8.1, in the directory OneDrive - this folder does * not * appear in the box office Win7. And vice versa.

I searched and haven't found so far any settings within OneDrive feature to define which folders are shared. This makes OneDrive useless for me. With DropBox, for example, I can create folders and subfolders, and sub-sub-folders all day, on each box, and they appear very quickly on the other.

Of course, Miss me just one fundamental step of how-to?

Your help is appreciated - thanks in advance.

    James Hurst

Windows 8.1 should always synchronize the OneDrive.com function (if you go to the site onedrive, you should see your new folder creating about 5 minutes).

The Windows 7 PC is in need of the extra boost.  Open the settings of the OneDrive by right clicking on the icon of clouds in the taskbar of the clock, go to the next tab and choose the folders to synchronize.

  • The folders and subfolders.

Installed 12 items, catalog converted, but now my sub folders appear as the main files for file Organizer.    How can I return my original file/sup file system?    When I look at the Windows folders, my system is as it was then the two correspond no more.   I use Vista.   Can someone help me please?

Post edited by: Annsbeads.      On additional research came through the community-powered for Photoshop family support information and it seems Adobe has removed the option to the subfolders.     WHY?     Very disappointed with 12.

The option to display the folder hierarchy is always there. Please click Ctrl + T on Win or Mac Cmd + T to toggle the folder tree view. Alternatively, you can click on the icon next to the label of my folders in the left panel.

    Thank you
