  This error can occur if there are USB devices or media attached to your laptop cards.  If this is the case, remove all connected to your laptop then repeat the recovery process.

  If the above is not relevant, I would try the following to rule out a hardware problem.

  Before you try the following, make sure you can read the activation code on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

  I have a HP Media Center PC m7470n. When I upgraded with Windows 8 Pro disc, after the first reboot, it gets stuck on the Windows form with turning points.
