Sudden loss of power if it works on battery on Satellite P10

I have problems with the battery on my satellite P10. I can use the laptop very well when I'm on the current, but when I want to run on battery, it will last awhile (showing 100% decreasing slowly as usual) then will suddenly change to 5% and turn off due to the critical battery level.

Can someone help me?

I wouldn't have thought, it's just a case of having to replace the battery, because he suddenly disappeared like this, it has not got gradually worse over time.

Thank you

Hello

How old is your battery and how many times have you loaded and unloaded battery?
Usually after one year or 500times charge/discharge, the battery slowly loses performance
In my opinion, it is simply a matter of battery and the battery must be replaced to solve this problem
Just contact the ASP in your country and order the new and compatible battery!

Good bye

I think the BIOS is now corrupt or non-existent.
I searched the net solutions and found nothing that works so far.

I know that I'm a fool to try to Flash a bios under Windows but I did and now I need a cure.

Thank you, in advance, to all those who responded to my call for assistance.

Yes, you are right; the EPROM module was not properly flashed.
In this case, the BIOS is corrupt and the laptop does not work.

Solution: the EPROM module must be flashed once more use special disc of crisis of the BIOS.

To perform this procedure to update the BIOS crisis, you need the BIOS (traditional version), BIOS crisis disk along with the step by step instructions.

Unfortunately, this special BIOS crisis disk isn't available for download. It of available only for service technicians authorized.
But I also read in various forums about successful re-flash BIOS.

    For example in this thread:

Check it out. Maybe it will help you. Otherwise, you will need to get in touch with partners in local service to Flash the BIOS again.

  • Memory 1 GB module works is not on Satellite P10

    Hello world
    I own satellite P10-304.
According to the data provided by toshiba this model should support up to 2 GB of RAM (1 GB max in one piece). To be sure, I did a test online to check what type of memory is installed and what kind of memory will build on this computer. Test online showed exactly the same...
Initially, I had 256 MB of RAM. I wanted to extend to 1 GB or 1, 2 GB. I bought 1 GB Kingston memory (KVR333X64SC25 / 1 G) and installed on the computer.
Of course the new memory has the same CL = 2.5 and PC = 2700... I tested it on another computer - works perfectly...

Initially, I replaced 256 MB with 1 GB and have to say that this computer does not work. After startup, you can hear the fan running, but nothing happens. The screen is completely empty and you can not even the bios.

If I replace the memory to 256 MB, computer works perfectly again (except that it's slow :))

Can you help me somehow please?

I updated the bios with bios of this website 2000a.rom. The USB ports have the power because they can charge a bike light usb, but not visible under windows or under several versions of Linux.

The only other thing that has been said is a new motherboard that is not an option with this laptop as his old enough is, I like to keep because it's a good small portable

    Hey Buddy,

Well, generally, I would suggest that you should disable Windows in energy saving power management feature, but you have already done this... Make sure that this power WLAN economic option is set for maximum Performance, even for the battery mode and all power profiles!

And what BIOS up-to-date? You have the latest version of the BIOS installed or using an older version?

I guess that your drive is secure, but you can view

  • Under battery power Tecra A7 works slowly

I have a TECRA A7 laptop, and I have a problem with the battery. When I do not use AC power, the notebook gets too slowly with programs like Netbeans.
How can I solve this problem?

    Hello

I guess that this happens because the laptop uses different modes of consumption.
If you unplug the AC adapter the Toshiba Power saver will change the power on the laptop mode.
Maybe the other mode of power put the CPU settings at the lowest level.
I recommend to check first the properties of the power mode you use if you are only working with battery

It sounds as if your user profile is damaged.

To confirm, perform the following steps:

    1. Create a file of any type and save it in "My Documents" of the account, which seems to have lost everything.
    2. Search for the document.
    3. When it is found, right click and choose Properties.
    4. Click the general tab and view the information next to the 'location '.  It will be C:\Documents and utilisateur\Mes Documents Settings\nom
    5. Make a note of the user name
    6. Now search for a document that you know existed.  Get location and to compare the value of username to this file that you just created.

Did you find the old file?  Was the location your former username user name and the user name for the new file a variant of that?

Also, please answer the next 2 questions, in the event where the article below does not help:

    1. You use a profile (user name) that you created or that you use the built-in account named "Administrator"?
    2. Also, what version of Windows XP you are using, including service pack?

  • My laptop does not work on battery even though the indicator said there are 90% of the available power

    original title: laptop BATTERY

My laptop does not work on battery even though the indicator said there is a 90% power disponiblesLorsque it is plugged in and charging. The battery would be dead even if she says she can still exist?

    Hello

Check with support from the manufacturer of their books online and the drivers and their forums system
(as applicable) for known issues. Some manufacturer issued BIOS and other updates to help the battery
    problems.

Control Panel control - plan change Options - power plans - power - advanced settings
Parameters for the drainage and the use of parameters (this is how much to use and not how much or how)
    long to load).

In fact, what causes a lot of wear on a battery empties it too low on several occasions. With today
systems overload are not a problem.

Here are some tips to help and troubleshoot battery issues.

Old battery? Unplug the power to the computer - remove the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil
eraser (do not use this, if your battery is fine slots - just clean up the edges of the knife which fit in)
them and be careful). Batteries are old, or it could be a problem with the computer.
Check with the support of the machine system, and many of them have on line forums.

New Lithium-Ion type battery usually last longer if you do not unload then less than 30%
However on a laptop that not extend their life a lot. Best is to use the a/c adapter
    When this is possible.

It's their recovery partition, not Microsoft.
