Suggestion of a USB device for synchronization of a short Digital pulse with analogue output or periodic

I hope someone can point me in the right direction and also to clarify some concepts!

Background: I am currently using the box USB-6009 and labview on a laptop to output 2 analog waves. It acts as a waveform(0.5-2Hz) of speed (periodic) for an engine step by step (with a driver) to execute a loop of traffic, and the other waveform acts as a signal short 5V to trigger some imaging equipment. The ability to move or to delay the start time of the wave of 'trigger' compared to the waveform of speed in steps of hail (ms) became a requirement for my experiments. Given the time where the USB-6009 case, software based accuracy was not good enough because I need, and the way I wrote the VI limits my delay/travel at the speed of wave deltaT(30-40ms). I started to look at the USB - M series (portability is an obligation) since some have calendar based on the material, and I could send the signal to a buffer rather than iteratively having read every value of the wave in. It also seems that a digital short "pulse" works better than an analog wave form creating any. Where I ran into some confusion is to determine the requirements of a deterministic way sync the two. I am looking for new hardware. I started by looking at the box USB-6211. However, I ran across a few posts talking about the digital I/o correlated being required to perform vaguely similar configurations, which would require something more like the USB-6221. Since I have probably to the digital output to be on a time scale different analog output, is i/o digital correlated required? If not, would the 6211 work?

Just to be clear, I need the periodic waveform and relaxation to be constantly in phase (anywhere, 10 minutes to several hours). Then be able to move the pulse +/-1ms (minimum) and repeat.  I can justify the most expensive device if necessary, but I don't want to get something I don't need.

I have attached a figure (not not to scale) of what I am after, in the likely event that my explanation was not too clear.

Thank you

Gabe

Hi Gabe,

The 6211 did not buffer IO digital as some of our other devices.  However, there are two complete meters on the 6211 which can be used to perform a generation of pulses (pulse or continuous pulse train - you can output a pulse train using two counters finished).  You can take a look at the section Applications of meter output x 621 manual for more information.

What it sounds like, the 6211 will do what you need for the following reasons:

1. the AO of the 6211 lines are buffered and can be clocked up to 250 kHz per channel (in contrast to the 6009 using AO NI by SW).

2 the 6211 counters can be used to generate two pulse based on a basis of time of 80 MHz (12.5 ns pulse width and resolution time).  The 6009 does not output meter.

(a) if the two pulses must be on the same line, you must configure a task of generation of pulses finished' (this example uses two meters behind the scenes).

(b) if both impulses are on separate lines, then you can use a task to counter separated for each line with a different initial delay.

The 6211 does not supported clocked generation of digital signals (e.g. 100010101110100) but if you just need to generate impulses so that's precisely what the counters can be used to.  I think that's where all the confusion, but seems like the generation of digital signals should not be necessary for your application.  Trigger the counter outputs out of the trigger to start AO and adjusting the parameter 'Initial period' should give you what you are looking for.  Don't forget to start the tasks of meter in the software before the tasks of the AO (if they are armed and ready to go before the start AO is sent).

I hope this helps, don't forget to post if you have any questions!

Best regards

  • Handspring Visor is a "unrecognized USB device" for Windows XP

    Hello World-

I feel as if I have a career to synchronize my PDA hot! I used to hotsync regularly on my old HP Windows 98 machine, and now that I have this new (er) eMachines Windows XP Pro system, I got nothing but heartache. Here's the situation:

My Visor Deluxe runs Palm OS 3.1H3, apparently the latest version which will work with it. The computer is running Windows XP Pro SP2. I have hotsync a few times when I got to the computer, but it has never been reliable. Now I surely CAN NOT synchronize! When I press the button on the cradle, Windows hotsync ALWAYS reports, "USB device not recognized" and of course the visor says he couldn't make contact with the office.

HotSync manager is running (I have the blue and red arrow on the taskbar icon), and if I look at the Device Manager when I try to sync, is apparently trying to get the driver, he simply painted the same list. The list does NOT include the Palm, Handspring or unknown devices.

I followed the directions "clean uninstall" I found on this forum and re-installed Palm Desktop 4.01. That worked once a week or two ago, but now when I arrive at the end of the installation, when I'm supposed to hot sync, I get the error not recognized USB.  I even tried to install Palm Desktop software version 6.2, but which ended up in a mess - I was getting errors like "Ordinal 23 could not bewildered because of the trajectory messed up', or words to that effect... I think it's ok for XP, but not "peripheral" as my trusty old visor :-)

I know I should try to use the same configuration on another computer to be sure that the visor is ok, but I don't have access to another machine; In addition, the PDA has no other wierdness. Soft resets do nothing, but I don't want to try a hard reset until I get everything synced to the top! I am at my wit's end and don't know what else to try. I tried both my cribs and a number of different USB connections both at the front and the back of the PC. The USB hardware in the computer seems to be fine with everything else - mouse, camera, mp3, flash drives. I'm beginning to suspect that I need to plug with USB 1 and these are 2 USB, but I don't know how to check either of these things, or how "throttle" in the case, I have to use the USB as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance to everyone that these figures. I'll be very grateful to have everything works again.

    Gary Benson

I was with you until the end. I hate to ask, but could you clarify this just a little:

Then, reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If she asks
for a user name and you synchronized your device before you put "test" If you "
no sync before creating a hotsync name.

Ok. I read three "if" statements, and try to understand what is meant here. If they ask you a user name AND if I synced before, AND if I do not synchronize before creating a hotsync name, I put in 'test '. Means I can't use the name I used for this camera? Or are you suggesting that, really, should I open Palm Desktop and create the username before I hotsync for the first time (after the new installation)?

I * have * synchronized before, and I don't plan to sync until everything is set up right, which to me should mean that Palm Desktop is ready with a username to match your handheld.

Also, these indications seem in conflict which advised you to in the first paragraph, where you said:

When you install Palm desktop, skip the hotsync process and complete the installation. After installation, adjust the conduit in hotsync manager for handheld overrides desktop, then synchronize with PC. During the connection process, it will ask you a username, enter the same username which is located in the upper right of the screen on your handheld hotsync.

It * seems * that what you say I have to do is:

    (A) clean uninstall - move data to safe places, uninstall, and then remove all traces of "Palm" and "Handspring" of the registry.

    (B) restart the computer.

    (C) install Palm desktop, but not hot sync again.

    (D) open Palm Desktop, add the user name (Tools/users) and set the lines for handheld overrides Desktop.

    (E) hot sync.

Isn't it? Sorry to be so simple, but I want to make sure to proceed exactly right. Thank you very much for your reply and for your help.

When I insert my USB for the first time, it is said that it has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. Am I missing driver for USB or what? I need step by step instructions on how to fix this prob. I'm an amateur. Thank you.

I need step by step instructions on how to fix this prob. I'm an amateur. Thank you.

Step 1.  Identify the make and model of the USB device.
Step 2: Identify the version of Windows XP you have, including service pack (start > run > winver > OK)

Although the following steps 1 & 2 you could get extra help, I suspect that the 'USB device' has indeed "defective" and you have to go back to where you got it and request a refund or a replacement.

  • Windows Media Player doesn't recognize the phone error"is not a connected device: for synchronization

For months, Windows Media Player recognized my Samsung Galaxy SIII without problem. For weeks now, however, he is not picking it up. My computer detects the device when I plug it in, and made my phone. But when I try to sync the music on my phone, Windows Media Player says that I don't have a device so sync is not an option. In addition, there is no option in advanced settings on the Synchronize tab, so I have no idea how to solve the problem. Manual and automatic synchronization does not work.

    Hello, Olivia,.

Thank you for keeping us posted.

Even if the phone is recognized on the computer, sometimes bad or corrupted SD/flash card card can cause this kind of scenario on Windows Media Player. Try to disconnect the SD card and check if the Player sync with the phone. Also check if another device appears under the list of devices in Windows Media Player. For troubleshooting, you can also uninstall the software of the phone (Samsung kies) and reinstall them.

Please let us know if the problem still persists.

  • NI-VISA takes a unique I.D. number for each USB device?

    Hi all

I'm relatively new to LabVIEW and VISA Toolbox.

When you communicate with LabVIEW and a USB via VISA, VISA shoots a D.I. unique number for the USB device for each connection established?

    I have reference: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4713/en

    Kind regards

    Bryan

    Bryan,

I don't understand what you're saying, so let me rephrase my answer and see that if this may help you - IF your device properly implements the USB standard and has a serial number, VISA uses this serial number.  If your device does not implement the USB standard correctly or if it does not have a serial number, VISA will do for you.

If your device has a serial number, the VISA can be used to communicate with it.  There are routines that detect and identify VISA devices connected to your PC.

  • Laptop HP Pavilion dv6 - 3016 s: USB (device not recognized) problems

    Hello

on my laptop (Pavilion dv6-3016sl, bought in 2010) for a few months the USB connections give many problems with different devices.

The first issue with the key external communication 3G (ONDA TM201) Internet: the USB key (which has worked for many months) is not recognized. I tried to reinstall the software and drivers (get the latest version from the website of the producer), but it is always unclear correctly.

The visible in USB Device Manager error message is "cannot start (code 10) machine.

Recently other USB devices have ceased to be recognized: powered USB Hub (HAMA USB 2.0 Hub 1:4, bus) and the Wired Optical mouse (Logitech).

It is also not possible to install new USB devices (for example, a device of wireless sync to a cuff of training).

I've done many controls of Microsoft on the integrity of the system, and I frequently run the Windows Update to be aligned to the latest version of the fix.

You have any suggestions to analyze/fix this locking problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Moreno

I know this may seem a rather harsh to suggest method, but at this point, I suggest backup of important things on your laptop computer to online storage. This is because you can use the USB storage for the moment.

Once you have done this, it's time to locate your drives support usb recovery and licenses of all other programs that you have installed or recovery.

    Start on the recovery media.

Use the HP Recovery Manager to perform a factory image recovery which will reinstall the operating system.

Since you say that the usb ports work under Linux, then reinstalling the operating system Windows needs to solve the problem of usb port that you are experiencing.

    Hi CapsFanQ,

To repair the system corrupted files on the computer that was not fixed by SFC scan, an upgrade in place might have to accomplish.

Error message when you try to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2: "one or more system components that require the service pack are missing."

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/968279

(See option 1 in the link)

Note:  Before you perform an upgrade in-place, you must be prepared for the worst scenarios that led to your existing data on your computer being deleted. Make sure that you back up personal data to disks or other storage devices before performing an upgrade on the spot. To perform an upgrade in-place, follow these steps.
