  Hi all

  I am fairly new here and on blackberry phones. I use bbm on my Nexus4 for a while now and bought a Blackberry Torch used to use with BBM 9810. My problem is that whenever I set up BBM it is stuck on "setting up BBM. I looked on the internet and tried everything I could to restore to the factory settings, update to the latest BBM, password changing to include letters, letters below, numbers and symbols, but nothing seems to work.

  Does anyone has this problem after doing all this (the forums more some of the thigs above seem to work, but not for me).

  Any information would be appreciated.

  A plan of BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) - is a dedicaed to plan special data for legacy devices BlackBerry (Running OS 7 and earlier versions). You must have a BIS plan to be able to communicate and have access to the BlackBerry Services as Emial, BBM, BlackBerry Protect messaging Apps etc.

  Regular data plan or WiFi does not work. I suggest that you contact your network provider, they can help you with this question.

• History of cats BBM get BBM of previous BB to new BB

  I just got my new classic BB and I was wondering if there was a way to restore historical cats BBM product of my old camera (BB Q10) to my new.

  I saved my BBQ10 on BlackBerry link - I double checked that I had chosen to save the data from BBM surveys.   I plugged the new classic and choose "restore" data to the new device.

  After restoring data on my phone, I opened the BBM and what prompted my BB ID is associated with my old camera and asked if I wanted to "BBM report."  I chose "BBM report" and the closed BBM app.  I opened again and was able to use BBM; However, none of my cats, my previous phone BBM history were restored to my new camera.   Now, because I had "spent BBM" BBM on my old phone (Q10) has is no longer a all entries, as in no contact, no history of cats... it does not work.   Even if I "switch BBM" yet once back in my old camera, all the cats stories will be wiped again.

  As I backed up my phone and my BBM data on BlackBerry link, I should in theory be able to restore the proper chat history?  If Yes, can someone help me to access it?  Or is it just gone now?

  If anyone can help that would be great...

  In addition, I would like to add that I don't remember having this problem before, when I got new features... If I remember correctly, I had my history of cats.

  This problem is quite annoying, I really want to use BBM, but have experienced the same thing when I had to put my device due to an exchange of the guarantee. Even though I followed the suggestion of BB Link to enter the BB ID on the 'new' device before you begin restoring data, BBM is just blank after opening for the first time. As the news stories of CAT are accumulated in the meantime, I did not still trying to recover the data, but I still have negative feelings about this sometimes.

  However, recently I came across a suggestion that is described here:

  It basically says that you should not only enter your BB ID on the new/empty device until backup is restoerd, but also open once the BBM and enter your ID here, too--before restoring the backup.

  As you still have your backup, you can try this method if you want - it's maybe really the key to be able to transfer the history.

  Another 'workaround', which is also recommended when using multiple devices: you can create ba 'personal group", where you can add all the pins of your devices. Group discussions are always sync!

• BBM, I CAN'T LOG MY BBM

  Hi, I use an iPhone 5 and I was perfectly using bbm for years but Wednesday I tried to chat on my bbm, but immediately I cliked on the soft, last week, it opens and remains motionless for 3 seconds, then disappears back to the home page of my ohone I deleted and re installed so many times and he won't get help here?

  An idea, what happens if you create a new BBID and connection with that? Just to test it. Restart your phone before you do this.

  If it does not help... Well, it's time to call your carrier and BlackBerry Technical Support Services as suggested in the Knowledge Base. They can investigate your BBM problem more deeply for sure.

• Z10 Z10 BlackBerry BBM voice chat problem with BB9900. Voice ob BB10 echoes just... not sent to BB9900... the works still 9900

  So I tried my Z10 with a Playbook and it works just great...

  BUT

  When I try to voice chat with BB9900 of my wife, I connect but I can't send any voice... it sounds right back at me... meanwhile, I can hear his voice from the BB990

  She hears any voice on the BB9900 come the Z10...

  Looks like a street in a sense...

  Any suggestions?

  RESOLVED SOLUTION...

  Basically, we are troubleshooting-made this problem... We took the bb9900 and the Z10 to a local coffee shop and tested... the voice of BBM worked perfectly and even made voice with the other BB9900, curve and 9800 users contact...

  So we came back home and contacted the ISP provider and tested the system of the router... it turns out that the router is older than 5 years and needed a new...

  The Protocol should be put to WPA WEP-64 to get things to work... we used a separate DLINK router to test this hypothesis... and it worked fine...

  It was not the Blackberry phones... It was a router problem... and the ISP provider is replacement for us...

  For those facing similar problems... diagnosis by eliminating variables works...

• BBM font size problem

  2.13.1.14 on android6, sudenly today police BBM BBM is the widest possible.  The default android police is "small".  BBM is not default to the default font size.

  Any chance you accidentally zoomed in it? Try the two fingers, "pinch" zoom/compress and see if that gets it how you like it to be.

• A second BBM blackBerry Z10 add account to Z10?

  Hoping someone can help with a suggestion.  We are a family of Blackberry, with MOM and dad having Z30.  Old Z10 MOM works very well (a couple of years updated Z30), but it is not currently attached to a network provider.  Children still use the apps, games and wifi.  I was jumping to set up BBM for our young son, to communicate on the wifi only with parents.  The Z10 is always implemented with Blackberry ID MOM and its applications.  Is it possible to set up a second account on the Z10 BBM?  Or is the only solution to wipe the device and set up again with a brand new blackberry ID for son?

  You can have the BBID even on both devices, but BBM can be on a single device.

  So, while you might use MOM BBID on the Z10 for BlackBerryWorld and apps, you can use BBM on it or this operation will change BBM Z30 MOM for the Z10.

  My suggestion would be to put in place the Z10 with it is own BBID so BBM is usable, of course, you will lose all the persistent purchased apps BBID MOM.

  Sorry, I thought that I had already answered it.  Not as far as I know and it wouldn't surprise me if there were.  But I suggest that you only look at the Javadoc yourself.  Are there methods in there that you think might work?

• BlackBerry Z10 Z10 BBM group does not

  I hope this gets corrected when 10.1 comes out there, but in the meantime...

  There are two other members of the family with blackberries, so we thought that we would introduce a family bbm group to communicate more easily. Except, I can't join the group we did. We tried both get my phone to join an existing group (which seems never to receive the invitation for) and the creation of a new group (where the phone tells me that I have reached my maximum of bbm groups... but I have no groups, at all)

  BBM seems to be buggy in general for me, ranging from being extremely slow access directly from the app (no), alert and an update when it is has that anything listed in the tab "update". It has also extended the screen in the hub when I tried switching landscape (although it is attached in a few seconds).

  Can anyone give me a suggestion on what to do? Please let me know if Miss me crucial information.

  I do not know 10.1 upgrade can fix it. While you wait for it, I solved my problem by joining the beta program of BBM Channel! Which upgrades my BBM client and it works without problems since then.

  I'm trying to implement invite them to download on BBM on my app.

  The app registers with BBM very well, but as soon as I hit the "invite" button, I get this error "ReferenceError: can't find variable: _inviteToDownload.

  The button has onClicked: {}
  _inviteToDownload.sendInvite ();
  }

  and in the InviteToDownload.cpp file, _inviteToDownload is configured as a context property.

  I was able to understand.

  In my main.cpp, the _inviteToDownload trigger would show only once as issued _registrationHandler "registered."

  So, I changed only around a bit and managed to do work the way I was looking for.

• BlackBerry Z10 can BES5 "BOLD" BBID (BBM) be reconfigured to use the Z10 BIS?

  As far as I can tell, it's a delicate issue...

  I used a Bold 9900 for work, managed by our BES5 servers.  Also used the phone for personal use, including BBM contacts.  I need is no longer to use the 9900 for work so decided to get a Z10 for personal use.

  Company does not have BES10 so I took a conscious decision to get a personal phone that wouldn't be synchronized with desktop systems.

  I had originally used the migration tools Office set up my personal Z10 with the contacts, calendar, etc. of my company 9900.  Everything transferred very well, with the exception of BBM, as it took my BB ID, which is managed by the company BES5 server to connect my device ID 9900's at my work email address.

  I worked my departmental support of BES, but I am not convinced that they are able to get my BB ID extracted their BES server.  Y at - it none confirmed so that I can get my existing (old 9900) BBM (BB ID) setup on my Z10, or what I have to wipe completely and start again with a new ID of BB?

  The wisdom of any guru will be immensely appreciated!

  Thanks for the link - it was PART of the solution.

  The other missing piece was weird and may be difficult to explain:

  (2) after the update of my BB ID ID (email address) as suggested above, I made my Z10 was on WiFiand re-tried my BBM configuration.  Via WiFi, installing BBM surveys has been able to connect and complete.

  Apparently the WiFi allows the service to bypass my cellular provider (Rogers).  Without WiFi, the service routes through Rogers - and since my old profile was registered (rightly) as BES managed, he tried to forward the request of my BES company, who would not allow.  With WiFi, my phone is directly connected to the Blackberry, gets his BB ID, and (apparently?) - pushes the update to the Rogers BIS servers.  At least that's what seems to be the case...

  No matter what the actual technical problem, it seems that for me to get my old BBM servers of our company BES5 ID, use the WiFi to complete the migration was critical.

  Hope this helps others in the future.

  Hello and welcome to the community!

  With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should translate a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

  1) register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
  • Please wait a 'recording' message

  2) restart

  • Pre-BB10 ONLY devices. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
  • Peripheral BB10. Hold the top button until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the unit to be completely stopped (for example, nothing appears on the screen, no lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red light. Wait through the entire boot process. IF this fails, you can try the method of battery-pull above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
  • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

  My Q10 is running OS 10.2.0.1767, which is the last official available OTA.

  Everything works except the BBM.

  My supplier keep telling me their network is open, and everything should work smoothly. During this time they never provide BIS or BES customers.

  Given that, there is certainly something wrong between your device and your network of carriers. But, once again, only they can watch their network to determine what the problem is. Only they can escalate your case up to BlackBerry officially if necessary.
