Suggestion on the desktop box stay

As you know, when you type in Japanese, there is always a Japanese suggestion pop up under the word we type. This box to disappear when you press on enter to confirm the word. I use Memrise on Safari, the way it works is that: pages give me 10 seconds to type the answer in Japanese, when up to time, it will automatically turn the web page to another page, leaves me no time to press on enter to confirm my word. The problem is the Japanese letter suggestion box remain the same in my office, even when I change to another application. It disappears only when I put a fullscreen app and reappear when I turn back to my office.

The last time, I have to save every job I do and reboot my mac to let him disappear, causing a lot of inconvenience.

I would like to know if there is any way I can cancel this idea box without having to restart my Mac?

You have the same problem with FireFox or Chrome browsers?

    Hi Frankie Barkere,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Method 1

Check if the problem persists in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Restart the computer to return to normal mode

    Method 2

If the problem does not persist in safe mode then he isa possibility that some third-party programs installed on the computer is the origin of the problem in normal mode. I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • The search box is missing in Windows Explorer and the search is not available from the Start button on the desktop

I want to search my hard drive for a file.

I open explore and there is no search box, or all the options to search.

I click Start.  There is no box that allows me to type in the name, I'm looking for.

Any suggestions on what setting or service may be disabled or stopped which disables the search options?

Hi jhblzk.  The name of the service is Windows Search, but even if it has been disabled, you should always see the box "search programs and files".  No harm to check though.  Press the Windows key and r on your keyboard and type:

    services.msc

and click OK.  Scroll down the page until you find and make sure that the startup type is set to automatic (delayed start) and the service status is started.  If this is not the case, click on start and OK your change.

If the service does not exist, go to programs and features in Control Panel and click on "turn Windows features turn on or off.  Scroll down and check Windows Search.  OK, your changes and restart.  The search box appears when you click Start now?

  • THE DESKTOP ICONS WON'T STAY WHERE I PUT THEM

I tried to combine some icons on my desktop in the way that suits me, but I often find that they won't stay where I put them.

Sometimes they simply will not sit when I try to put them (especially near the perimeter) and at other times, after that I did something else, when I go back on the desktop what they moved.

    Thanks for that.

    That was the problem.

When I opened the menu as you have suggested, "align icons on the grid" has been selected.

When I removed the tick that solved the problem.

    Thank you kindly.

  • suggestion of the cancellation by programming the windows dialog boxes

For some reason, while a utility that downloads the firmware in a device should be stopped. When using Taskkill mode forced to the command prompt (suggested here in this forum in another thread), the app closed, but the device does not respond properly (it is the poster of device firmware download is still in progress). To avoid this problem when you use taskkill in normal mode (no forced mode), utility like popups display messages "are you sure you want to download the process? Press Yes or no. ». Then when you press Yes it still displays a message to the user, "the firmware download process abandoned by the user.". The utility that downloads the firmware can be redesigned to avoid these pop-up windows, but it is a bit tedious process and is not possible at this time. Taskkill in forced mode also left aside.

To do some automation, only option is to use taskkill in normal mode and must avoid the dialog boxes for "popup".

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

  • Windows 7 pro 64. The desktop icons won't stay where I put them. After a reboot, the desktop icons are always rearranged.

I've set up my office while I have the following icons down the left side of the top in the following order: computer, network, System (C), (D) options, reader of DVD (E), trash.

Whenever I restart my computer, the icons are rearranged as: computer, network, trash, reader of DVD (E), options (D), System (C).

I don't want to add all the new icons on the desktop, because I know they won't stay where I put them. When I was using XP it would happen only when I changed resolution but with Win 7, it happens every time that I reboot.

Reorganization of auto desk is off, snap to grid is turned off, sort by has verified. I use two monitors. All the gadgets that I have in my hand right 2ndary monitor are stay in place very well. The icons gives me the problem are on the left side of the left main screen.

I made an image of my hard drive just after the installation of windows 7 and before to install the drivers of manufacturers and updates of windows.

Today, I restored this image, reinstalled the drivers from manufacturers and made the updates of windows. The problem seems to have disappeared now.

I am re-imaging my hard drive after you install the complete driver/updating. I hope I don't need to use it, but I will if I have to. I still don't know what caused it in the first place, but at least now I have an option of fast food if it happens again. I'll recreate the image on the hard drive after all major software install from that time, I have two images. A fundamental right after pilot installations and one after each installation of software.

    Original title: Windows search problem

    Hello

If you run a search in Windows 7 from the Start Menu search box, the search string is not saved in the search box. This is normal.

However, if you are looking for using the search box on the upper right corner of the Windows Explorer window, the search string is saved in the search box and stays there until you delete it or close the Windows Explorer window.
