vSphere ESXi ssh works, but not able to ping from the inside
Hey man,
I have problem with my ESXi 4.1 straing I just fresh installed on workstation 6.5 and assigned IP address. I am able to ping and ssh on my local network (another PC).
But when I am trying to ping my local gateway of ESXi bash command line, I get the expiration time. Everything works including shared iSCSI and all but vMotion don't work. Is this firewall problem? I don't think that there inbuild firewall in ESXi.
I am able to ping the local interface IP, but no gateway, see below.

Question about connecting to the DB without earphone in Solaris
Am pretty new to Solaris and I know how it works in Windows - please help.
When I set ORACLE_SID am NOT able to connect to the DB, but system@ORACLE_SID works fine.
The DB is running, logged in the same terminal SSH, tried all the upper/lower case for SID

When you use sqlplus to connect to the LOCAL database (do not use SQL * Net), then you can use the same version of sqlplus that comes with the database you are trying to connect.
You can only use sqlplus v11.2 to connect to the LOCAL V11.2 database.
You can only use sqlplus v11.1 to connect to the database LOCAL V11.1.

Techstack of HP-UNIX SUN Solaris migration
Hi I need help in the migration process application server of HP to the Sun.
I am following the Doc #238276.1, and I am applying techstack interop patch 4139957 (already applied the specific fix personalized).
But if I run adpatch, I got the following and these binaries are HP.
# adpatch
ksh: adpatch: not found
oracta001:/UL01/app/applmgr/lasrx/ad/11.5.0/bin >
# ls-l adpatch
-rwxr-xr-x 1 lasrx s/n 5963776 7 Dec 17:00 adpatch
oracta001:/UL01/app/applmgr/lasrx/ad/11.5.0/bin >
Thus, any Suggetions on it. Is this work with Sun solaris, if we need to do to support Sun solaris.
Thank you. Were you able to apply the update custom using adpatch without error? If so and the problem with the executable files will appear only after applying this fix, then I would say that connect you a SR.
Thank you

memory usage by a process of oracle on sun Solaris
Hello forum,.
I want to track the memory usage by a process of oracle on sun solaris 64-bit SPARC system.
I tried to do it by the command of the PMAC, but I found that the output for each pid (process oracle) is even around 8GB. Please note that the 8 GB is the size of our LMS.
Please let me know the command by which I can check that "how much memory that uses an oracle on Sun Solaris Sparc 64-bit server process.
Thank you

VincentNo, it is not possible, the clone requirement is the source and target must be compatible to the binary format.

Migration Oracle 11 g of Sun Solaris sparc to Red had linux
Dear Experts,
Could you please share your experiences of migration Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production of Sun Solaris Sparc 64 - bit Red Hat linux 5.6. Any links, documentation, issues, notes would be very useful.
Thank you.I think that the best way to achieve this is to perform a test using test databases/servers. This test will identify the problems and obstacles specific to your installation, which may or may not be mentioned in the generic documentation that you can find.

Solaris - Oracle10g - could not connect to the database via the application...
Dear people...
I am facing a problem trying to connect to the database via the application...
This was not the case previously, that something was wrong after the installation of the application.
During the installation of the Application, I had specified the database/SID as "wind".
The application works well up to 10 days, when there is power failure.
Resumption of food, I started the server Solaris (Sparx).
Then started to oracle and listener.
And when tried to start the application could not succeed.
An error in the application log file:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
SVR4 error: 2: no such file or directory
Then follows things:

Now, I'm very new to the world of the Oracle...

Does someone can give solution to this problem...
Thanks in advance...
Kind regards
ManishHello
ORCL:/D32/orawc/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N
Oracl:/D32/orawind/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N
testwind:/D32/tstuser1/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N
pdmorcl1:/D32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N
Wind:/D32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1:NSo now, I think that problem is some hand if environment variable at startup of the database. oratab files sows that you have multiple homes of oracle on your server
1 /d32/orawc/product/10.2.0/Db_1
2 /d32/orawind/product/10.2.0/Db_1
3 /d32/tstuser1/product/10.2.0/Db_1
4 /d32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1Your environment variable must be set correctly when you start the database so that it starts from the good House. Listener could run from any head of mission and your database can register automatically. For your particular case, you should and environment flow as follows and it should work for you
export ORACLE_HOME=/d32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1 export ORACLE_SID=wind export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH
After setting your environment like that, now you conect 'as sysdba' and startup of the database (I think you know how to start the database. If it is already started, stopped and then start early). Now your database said the correct House
Now you pasted above your tnsnames.ora file. Should the tnsnames.ora file $$be to the following Director (in the current home you above)
/D32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1/network/admin
Now you try to connect you wanted. To make sure everything, also stick out now in the course of execution of the command line
which tnsping which sqlplus which lsnrctl

Disconnected from the motherboard except course before directed ps button and the cpu fan has become much brighter, but that's all that happened. Any suggestions on what to check? Checked with VOM push and he seemed to agree. Replaced the MB with the new Board of Directors, that didn't work either. Don't know if it was any good, it was a store Bulletin Board.
