  You want to buy a Priv for various reasons, including the physical (and mythical) keyboard BB, but would like to know if it will work with my Frédérique Weiser Lock.  If I'm not mistaken, this requires not only Bluetooth Low Energy support (which is confirmed on the technical page), but a specific subset called 'Device Mode' a number of not supporting handset manufacturers NOT despite claiming the WHEAT support.

  So, I would just confirmation on it if possible.

  This is the only channel proposed by RIM support? Where the real support tickets are open? I'm on my second phone now. I started with a torch and just paid for a new Bold 9900. I can go to the dealer where I bought the phone and explain my problems but they do not offer real support for real problems other than sending it to RIM. By experiencing Intermittent problems or problems I have with my new "BOLD" related to the compatibility of Bluetooth devices, I have to assume will not be repaired by returning the phone to the EDGE. I expect that if a response is not provided in a forum, there must be another support channel to use. Everyone does it is a channel of inadequate support is not?

  First of all, just to clear any misunderstanding, I am not employed by RIM, but as you suggest, RIM employees stop occasionally and answer a few questions.

  So let's say that you go to the dealership and they can get anywhere with your question.  It is your right, and I INSIST that they do, to have the issue escalated directly on RIM for resolution.  So, "Mr. Dealer, my question has not been resolved that it is supposed to be.  I wish I had this magnitude within RIM, who will be able to solve it for me.  No, you won't do?  I insist that you it degrades to the EDGE because it's in your contract with them. »

  I certainly understand where you come with your points, but don't forget that RIM is there to help you.  It is not from the beginning (because this should be your carrier), but keep in mind that if your carrier fails to solve the problem, RIM will get there from here.

  Again, I hope I've been helpful to you.  Please post back with any other concerns you have.

  You could do 2 things I can think of:
  1. in Options > Auto on / off, you can set up the phone put automatically on it anytime you want.
  2. turn the profile of notification for "phone only" or "off" before going to sleep.

  There are also applications that can be purchased through the app world that can do exactly what you ask. I do not use one of them, so I can't give specific examples.

  I just got a flip from T-Mobile.  I am happy with most of the features, however, there is no support for the Chinese language.  All Chinese characters appear as black boxes.  Anyone know patches so that I can read and input Chinese (traditional Chinese)?

  Your device OS does not support the Chinese symbols.

  Ask your provider wireless for a multi-language OS device that supports Chinese characters.

  If not - check a Chinese supplier for OS device. But note that your wireless provider disfavor using the device os from other providers of wireless.

  If you decide to use the BONES of another wireless provider - use OS exactly to your device model.

  Install the OS package on your desktop. After that, delete Vendor.XML file installed on your desktop computer.

  Connect your device to the computer and update device OS via Blackberry Desktop Manager/Application Loader.

  One of the evangelists 'Developer' RIM working outside South Africa, I think, so there should be someone local you can talk too.  If you message Mark Sohm (the RIM name you will see a lot on the forum - MSohm), with your e-mail address and it ask to put you in contact with the Developer Evangelist in SA, which should help.  You can tell Mark to ask me if he needs clarification.  Do not promise anything either but I hope that something will happen.

  I saw my colleagues read specifically the Indian language Hindi on their Blackberry smartphones. However, even does not work for me, in applications such as Facebook, instead of the local language it shows only special characters.

  I tried searching and found that we can add languages through the Desktop Manager > Applications > Langauge Support. However there is no option under Applications as language.

  Please help on this.

  Hindi is supported on BB Torch(Read/Write). You can even type the keyboard to the Hindi screen.

  To install Hindi fonts:

  Go BB Desktop Software--> Applications

  In applications under Asian language press select and choose Hindi (click the sign '+' to download and install.)
