Svchost.exe using excessive hard disk

After the latest version of windows update 29 June downloaded the file SVCHOST. EXE is using memory and excessive hard drive. I have 6 GB of memory and an Intel! 3 processor.

The svchost.exe blocks all other processes and prohibits the normal use of the computer. I tried the system restore, but could not restore to any restore point, even in safe mode.

Thank you very much for the help.

As far as I know, you can only use one HARD disk in the Qosimo G50 - 11R.

But you can check this, if you remove the second HARD drive cover (it's the only screw) and there may be a second HARD drive connector or not, so I think.

With svchost.exe provide us a list of services using the process. There are number of processes that are using svchost.exe, so we need to know that we provide more targeted assistance. Right click on the process, click on properties and look at the Services tab.

Solution Explorer. exe has a number of subprocesses. Select the sub-process, click Properties and check the Services tab.

Have you recently changed all types of starting any service. This often leads to the problem. Users often disable a reflection of service to speed up the system performance. In practice what is done is of one or several programs to malfunction.

My computer freezes several times a day.  I have to wait several minutes to get it working again.  When it starts up, it shows a window saying c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe uses a lot of memory.  What is the cause for this?

    Hi Cyndy62,

    1. When did you start to question?

2 did you a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

    3. This occurs when you use a specific application or all applications?

    Step 1:

Start your computer in safe mode

    Step 2:

If you are not faced with the question in safe mode, then you can try to perform a clean boot and see if it helps.

  • Satellite A300 - how to use two hard disks?

My Satellite A300 came with two 200 GB hard drives (drives C and D). What is the best way to use the D drive? Now I have nothing about it. If drive C fills the computer automatically switches the D drive?

A basic question, I know, but the manual provides no information on this subject.

    Hey Dearborn,

    > If drive C fills the computer automatically switches the D drive?
No, D: drive will not be filled automatically.
When installing the program, you will be asked which drive they will be installed. So you can choose between C: and D: drive.

In general there are no rules the use of two hard disks. You can do what you want.
In my opinion the best is if you install all the programs on C: drive (first HARD drive) and save your private files such as photos, videos, documents, etc. on drive D: (second HARD drive). Its advantage is that if you need to reinstall Windows at all times, these files on the second HARD drive will not be deleted. ;)

  • Satellite A300-1ND - can I use SATA2 HARD disk?

    Hello.
Is there a place to upgrade A300-1NDs SATA HDD hard drive SATA2? I know that SATA2 is faster and is backward compatible with SATA, but do not know if the laptop would be able to use the full speed of SATA2.

    THX all

    Hello

As Akuma has already said the s normal HARD disk with 5400 or 7200 RPM are not due the old interface SATA1.
The speed of your drive you can check yourself with HD Tune for example. I think that your HARD drive will not reach the 150 Mbps.  ;)

The new SATA2 interface is compatible with SATA1 controllers, but it won't bring a performance gain.
Only the new generation of SSD also called HARD disk s can use fast SATA2 interface but these drives are more expensive than normal HDD s.

    Good bye

  • KB973687 - msxml3.dll msxml6.dll - services.exe uses excessive virtual memory, the performance impact on the first logon after restart

Since the installation of fix KB973687, I had several SP2 and SP3 systems exhibit behavior that makes them unusable until after the first logon is completed, which can take up to 20 minutes.   I've identified the patch (KB973687) and DLLs, that it will update the origin of the problem, but uninstalling the patch does NOT return to normal operation.

I need to understand how to upgrade these systems WindowsXP SP2 and SP3 to restore normal operation, reinstalling Windows, programs, and settings is an expensive solution.

The performance problem is caused by services.exe slowly consumes about 1.5 GB of virtual memory, and then slowly releasing.  This seems to be triggered by the first logon after restart, this connection is very slow, the screen is blank for most of it, there might be failures of allocation memory during logon.  Once complete this opening of session and memory usage returns to normal levels, recording and return to work normally as do other operations until the system is restarted.

Spent a lot of time working with SysInternals Process Explorer, trying to find what specific service might be involved, lightweight system for bare essential services with no luck.

KB973687 seems to offer only two files msxml3.dll and msxml6.dll.  Uninstalling this patch, resettlement V3 and V6 of the XML parser fail to restore normal operation.

Not all systems seem to have place still restrict the differences.  Systems that are appear to be the oldest, with Windows XP has been installed for at least a year, installed Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Looking for these forums and the Internet, I believe that many have encountered this problem, but have not is it this level of analysis, seem most attribute it to a virus, I see several start explorer.exe manually, I didn't know all the alternatives before reinstalling Windows.

Found the solution, the following has been fixed in System Cleaner of Comodo 2.2.129172.4:

"For some strange reason, after changing some settings of the system with the CSC LastGood.tmp Directoy began to constantly be read from my hard drive. This would occur up to about 90 to 99% of my memory was used and then stopped, begin to free the memory, and the system began to slowly to function normally.
I used the process explore from sysinternals to help diagnose the problem with any process other than services.exe using memory.

I used sysinterals filemonitor to see LastGood.tmp directory has been read repeatedly.
After you have uninstalled CSC the problem has been resolved. »

Even with the effort to find the solution, it was better to reinstall.  Hope this solution helps others.

  • Svchost.exe using 99% of my CPU

    Title says it all

It seems that your system may be achieved a malware.

Some reading on svchost.exe and how it can be hidden (just read).

    http://www.file.NET/process/Svchost.exe.html

Sometimes, it may seem that one of your svchost.exe process is out of control with all kinds of CPU and memory, so understand that some malware will hide as a process behind one of your several svchost.exe processes.  Everything you see in the Task Manager is a process that has run amok of svchost.exe.

The malware knows that you will not be able to find and see it in the Task Manager.  The hopes of malware, it will inspire you to do something drastic as use a Restore Point, perform a repair installation, or even reinstall your XP from scratch when none of this is necessary.

No matter what you use for software malware, detection and removal do this first:

Download, install, update and do a quick scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

After the scans run clean and a reboot, see what things look like.

  • Svchost.exe using too much cpu!

I have a Windows 2003 Media operating system, svchost.exe occupies almost all my cpu.  I tried to download the update, but I already have service pack 3.  Not sure why this problem arises now because it seems to be a problem that Microsoft fixed in 2007.  Help, please! I read that there is an agent 3 or something like that which solves the problem. What happens if anything do I need to download.  I will also try to see if the problem pops up in safe mode.  I'll look to see where the svchost is still running.

Download and run the "Process Monitor" freeware.  It's a task manager on steroids.  Find the svchost that uses all CPUS and place your cursor over the name of "svchose.exe".  A pop-up window displays all the services covered by it.  Go to the Services (start-> Run-> 'services.msc') screen, check for these services, and by a stop or pause these services while monitoring your CPU usage.  You should find it pretty quickly.

Hi, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64. Randomly, the svchost.exe (fontcache) service will start using 99% of my cpu, everything a lot. Specifically, it starts happening when I play Team Fortress 2, but it also happens while I play the game. During a match, making the game lag, giving me a very large ping 2000ms + and no fps. If I end the process, it stops and is fine. But it could be the cause?

Common programs, I have running at all times are as follows:

    AVG anti-virus

    Pidgin (AIM client)

    Skype

    Google chrome

    Windows media player

Any help would be great, it becomes annoying random having my computer be bogged down for no reason. Let me know if you need more information

    Thank you, xJedix

Hey guys, thanks for the suggestions.  Actually, I found another person who had this problem.  Their solution was to remove the additions of the shell that nvidia added to when you right-click on the desktop and things.  This has solved the problem, at least until now...  It's 3 days now without problem and also fixed my problem Explorer.exe crashing several times when I was reviewing the files :)

If anyone is wondering how to disable programs that have been added to the hull, use shexview.
