Sweep intermittent officejet 6500

I got an Officejet 6500 has more attached by USB on my computer Dell Optima. It will print without any problems. However, if I try to scan documents using the supplied software, it will usually scan the first OK, then it will start to scan the following document and freeze. After a while, I get an error message saying: scanner is busy, or communication has failed. The program will not answer, it must be closed by the Task Manager.  I tried to reset the WIA service dependencies. I also ran scan doctor program, that also froze. Restarted according to the instructions of the scan doctor, he told me that he could not solve the problem. If I restart my computer and/or printer, I can scan a document and the problem recurs. I rebooted the complete driver twice, the problem persists. My wife can scan very well on our network wireless using his Mac. Any suggestion is welcome.

Interestingly, Mike, but I'm sure we can find a way to fix this problem, I will work with you to find a solution. First of all, this printer is plugged into a wall outlet, surge protector, battery of emergency or power strip? I know that this may not seem important, but it can have an impact on questions like that.

  • OfficeJet 6500 intermittently does not print half of the last line in the lower doc

Using an Officejet 6500 E709a connected to Windows 7 64-bit PC via ethernet LAN.  Intermittently, the printer is unable to print a part of the last line of the document.  A 12 point font for example it does not print the bottom half of the letters on the last line of text.  What software (word, excel, PDF, etc.) and it does not matter hwer on the page of the last line falls.  It occurs only on the last page of multipage documents.

Try that and see if it helps the question:

  • Scanning with Officejet 6500 problems

My Officejet 6500 printer will scan only from my computer when there is a usb cable attached. Remove the cable, no sweeping. FRO the last 2 weeks in HP Smart people have been scratching their collective heads trying to solve the problem. Is there anyone else with this problem. Maybe we could all have a collective scratch! 2 weeks of my life on this Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    Dear Scratchmyhead,

I have the same problem with the same printer.
Indeed, it is the error through the programming of the two-way communication via Wifi.

There is error on HP sid, and they do not have a solution.
There is a simple solution which is somewhat tidious, but it allows you can scan to receive ink levels wireless and wireless.
    On your printer, go to;
Configuration > network > view network summary > discovers wireless

On this page, you will see your printers IP address. Write this down (or remember).
Return to your computer, open a new tab in a web browser. (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
Enter your printer's IP address in the URL bar.
It takes you to a page that says:

    "Officejet 6500 E710n-z.

It's your "Built-in Web server" printers

    If your printer is connected to your network correctly, you should see;

    Status: loan

    The estimated ink levels: *.

  • HP Officejet 6500 710N: 6500 spool question?

I had problems with my laptop and the printer communicating.  It will print fine for a while then all of a sudden, she leaves print, says I'm not connected etc.  I unplug everything including the wireless router, turn it back on it, nothing.  Then a few days later, all of a sudden he was going to start printing.  It happened again yesterday so I finally uninstalled, re-installed the printer, now when I go to print, the icon indicates the printer is there, but when I on the printer it says nothing in the print queue.  I tried to download a windows driver, no help.  I tried to connect the wired cable and the connection does not seem to happen as he repeats to me plug wired plugin, even if it is plugged.

The other problem I have is when I install and configure the wireless, it is requested the address that appears on the printer and I type it as shown, but when the program is going to find it, he can't... either I'm typing in wrong or?  address of 10.0.0.4 says printer but when I type in the program does not and keeps popping back to this question.  So now I don't know what to do.

    A virus cause such problems?

    Hello @crosswordangel,

I understand that you are experiencing intermittent wireless printing problems and now impossible to install your HP Officejet 6500 has more e-all-in-one printer E710n as your Windows 7 computer cannot find the IP address of your printer. I would like to work with you today with the resolution of this problem. I believe, rather than what is a virus problem, there may be a setting on your router or your computer that may block your printer intermittently. It is actually quite common and does not mean that something is wrong with your computer or router, this simply means that the security of your network may be doing its job too well and it is to see the printer as a threat attempts to access the network. To correct any potential network and install questions please do I you follow the steps below.

    Step 1: Powercycle network:

    1. start by unplugging the power cable to your router
    2. Once your router is unplugged, turn your printer off
    3. then, shut down your computer
    4. after 30 seconds to 1 minute, reconnect your router back in
    5. then turn on your printer
    6 turn on the computer

After a few minutes, check your computer to see if the internet works again. Try to browse a few websites to ensure that the internet works correctly. Once you are able to navigate to Web sites, continue to the next step.

    Step 2: Check of connectivity:

    1. On your printer control panel to the right and select the configuration button
    2. Then, select the network menu
    3. Select View Network Summary
    4. Select the wireless mode
    5. Make a note of the IP address that appears
    6. On your Windows 7 computer, open the internet browser
    7. Type the IP address in the address bar at top. Do not include www.
    8. Press search
    • If a Web site for your printer (browser EWS) open it means that your printer and your computer are 'talk' wireless. Please click here to download the drivers for your printer. Once the site opens click on the download button at the top. Please follow through the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer.
    • If the Web site for your printer does not that mean that your printer and computer are not 'talk' wireless. Please continue with the troubleshooting steps below.

    Step 3: MSCONFIG:

There may be a program that runs in the background on your computer which can block wireless communication. I have to you temporarily disable the background programs running on your computer to see if everything installs and functions properly.

    1. Click on the Start menu
    2. In the box "search programs and files" just above start, type msconfig and press enter on your keyboard
    3. When the System Configuration window opens select ' selective startup' and uncheck load startup items
    4. Click the Services tab, check the box at the bottom to hide all Microsoft Services
    5. Select turn off all the
    6. Select apply and OK
    7. Computer restart when prompted
    8. When your computer turns on, please try to access the site of printers with the printers IP address again. If the site to load properly, please click here to download the drivers for your printer. Once the drivers download, please do run with the steps on the screen to install your printer.
    9. Test your printer to verify if 'offline' messages appear.
    10. If everything is working properly, restart your computer
    11. When your computer turns please try again to print.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Please let me know if you are able to access the sites Web (browser EWS) printers with success or not on your Windows computer. I look forward to hear from you!

    Hello MDKAggie79,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you have a problem with the printer print a blank page.

I have some suggestions that in order to solve this problem, we can try.

First of all, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

I have also found a document on the printer prints blank Page or does not print black or color ink for the HP Officejet 6500 is e-all-in-One Printer Series.

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.

If you have any other question or concern for me, please do not hesitate to write again at any time.

    See you soon,.

  • Wireless for HP OfficeJet 6500 a configuration more all-in-One on Ubuntu 10.04

I bought a HP OfficeJet 6500 has more all-in-One CN557A, I want to use with ubuntu 10.04 64 bits as a wireless network printer.
Before, I bought, I checked the compatibility on www.hplipopensource.org and www.openprinting.org, and everything was in order.
The machine is detected automatically and fully functional when connected with a usb cable, but I failed to operate as a wireless printer.
    That's what I did:

I configured the printer on the network (through the interface of the printer), and it connects. It prints a 'Wireless Network Test report', and everything works. I can ping the local ip address and access it via the browser. HP eprint also works.

I installed hplip 3.11.10 and dependencies manually. I did this because the default hplip in ubuntu 10.04 did not recognize the device.

I ran 'hp-check', who gave without errors or warnings:

are installed to compile correctly HPLIP.
    2. performance check (r or - run) mode: use this mode to determine if a distribution
provided package (.deb, .rpm, etc.) or a supplied HPLIP tarball already built
the appropriate dependencies installed to run successfully.
    3. the two and run-compilation mode check (b or - both) (by default): this mode
check the two cases above (the two dependencies of compilation and execution).

Make sure that the printer is connected to a live wall, not a surge protector. This step is required because it will check if you have the same problem.

Sometimes paper stuck in the printer can make these noises or to transport back and forth.

This document here, HP is the right section to double check there is no paper in the printer.

Try to clean the rollers of paper of this HP document on The Noise is produced when you print.

I would like to know how your progress.

  • OfficeJet 6500 scan flat black

So I have problems my Officejet 6500 (implemented on a wifi network) to analyze correctly.

It used to work perfectly. However, he has recently stopped sweeping and now only provides a black image (although the overview scans work perfectly).

I use the latest version of Snow Leopard and picture Capture to scan (again, on a Wifi network).

Any ideas that I can do to fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

OK, let's test the printer by making a copy of a document to the printer.  OK it works?

If he copys OK, let's reset the printing system (and scanning) on your Mac:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (Ctrl) click the box of the print queue and select Reset Printing System.
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

Ink system failure Officejet 6500 (no error code specified)

I have turned off the machine on again (and it doesn't)

I turned off the computer and unplug the unit (and it does not fix it)

Without specific error code I'm not sure what to do

Hi CHCA. Your Officejet 6500 must be out of warranty? You can doublecheck the warranty status of your printer here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/weInput?cc=ie & lc = on -if it is still under warranty, you should not pay for a new printheaad.

But if your printer is no longer under warranty, you buy one a. The part that you really need to order an Officejet 6500, is CN643A. If you are in the United States, here are the HP part store page where you can order the new print head Assembly: http://h20141.www2.hp.com/HPPARTS/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=C580393F30964EDD82B16A5C641BEC41 & Searchin' PartNumber = & SearchPN = CN643A

If you are not in the United States, start from this page: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/wwhowtobuy.html , specify your country and search for CN643A.

Also, here is a support document that should help you with the replacement of the print head: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01643079

  • OfficeJet 6500 Wireless: Lost after upgrade Windows 10 Scan function

During the upgrade to Windows 7 to 10, I received a message that the printer drivers may not be installed correctly.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the full features of HP software for my wireless Officejet 6500 several times.  No apparent problem until I tried to scan a document.  I get the following error message "cannot scan because another program or computer uses the network of imaging device.  Try again later. "Error information 8, ((0, 18, - 2147467259)) thinking Windows FAX and Scan can be the other program, I disabled it. no change.  HP Print and Scan doctor gives me the same message, "the scan cannot because another program or computer using the networked imaging device.  Try again later. »

All the features worked before the upgrade to Windows 7 to 10.  There is no other computer the device.  The printer will scan using Windows FAX and Scan, but the HP scanning features are much better in my case.

Do not remove anything else then the folders I mentioned.

  • HP Officejet 6500 a more impossible to connect to the server

My HP Officejet 6500 a more printer was connected to my wireless network and was attached to the ePrint service; and I had an email address to send prints to my printer. But today, when I go to the ePrint, it shows that my printer is NOT connected to the SERVER!

He invites me to go to the Setup menu option / Services Web Setup / email address Panel on the printer display. And, when I do that, it shows me: "you can connect the printer to the itenrnet through a proxy server and touch the ENTER PROXY button! I do not know what Proxy Server, he is asked? And when I get soemthing, it then asks a PORT number! Still, I don't know what is the Port! My printer is still connected to my home wireless network.

Then I went back to HP ePrintCenter page and REMOVED my printer and then tried to ADD a printer, but, now, he asks me to "enter the printing Code.

When I tried to enter the print code I had on the file, it says that the code was not valid; the codes are ONLY good for 24 hours, and I have to get a new printing code to return to the configuration of the printer menu steps described above!

Looks like I'm stuck in a vicious circle.

I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

To correct the unable to connect to a web server error. I'd start by power cycling the router and the printer. If still we get the error that I will then try to put a static DNS server built-in web printer (EWS).

    To power cycle the router:

    1. unplug the router (most do not have a power button) and then put
the printer off using the power button
    2. wait 30 seconds
3 plug in the router, wait until it is completely upward and the operation.
    4 turn on printer
    5. after the printer is completely top and operational reattempt to connect to web services

If after that, you still get the error message, I had put the static DNS. To do this:
1 get the IP address of the printer, and then make a browser (IE, Chrome, any browser you want) and enter
IP address of the printer in the address bar. This will bring up the SEWS
    2. search for the network titled tab and click on it
    3. then click on IPv4 in the left column, wired / wireless depend on the connection, if connected by Ethernet
    Choose wired, wireless select wireless
    4. when loading this page watch the second part entitled 'Configuration of the DNS addresses' change this radio
Manual button and change the DNS preferred manual to 8.8.8.8 and manual to auxiliary DNS
8.8.4.4 and then click on apply.
    5. pay particular attention the following screen which appears this message usually is a way to undo changes only
made by clicking on the OK"" button. Avoid this by clicking another tab
or just leave it until you close it.
6 turn the printer of the cycle and then turn it back on
    7. once the printer is back on and retry operation, activate web
services and reprint information page so that you can get a new code and add your printer back to ePrint Center. You will need to create a new e-mail address for the printer.

  • How to connect to the HP Officejet 6500 wireless printer

I recently bought the printer portable officejet 6500 from costco. Initially, I have it connected via a USB port on my laptop and follow the instructions in the CD. I also activated the wireless to the printer. Now, I'm trying to connect to the printer from my office laptop. I have not installed anything on my office laptop. I went into Control Panel, printers and tried to add this printer. I'm assuming that, given that the printer is already selected for the wireless, I thought that I'll be able to see that when I add a printer. When I tried to add the printer its asking me a URL. I tried to get the printer Network Setup page portable officejet 6500, but the URL does not work. I need to install the CD that came with the printer portable officejet 6500 on my offcelaptop to make it work? Any help would be appreciated.

    Then go to the computer.

    1. click on Start Menu

    2. Select all programs

    3 select the HP folder

    4. Select the name of the computer

    5. click on the IP ADDRESS UPDATE or wireless configuration.

    6. put the new ip address in the place.
