Switch from Logic 9 to new iMac

I plan to buy a new iMac and I have Logic 9 on my old iMac and want as well on the new. I have the Logic 9 discs and the activation code. Can I install Logic 9 on the new iMac? I can run on both computers, or only one? If it is absolutely necessary, I do not fear the uninstall of the old, but I would have it on both. I didn't want to re-buy Logic 9.

Additional question: if I end up buying logic X, is compatible with loops and Logic 9 files? How to import sounds Logic 9 in Logic X?

Hello

Yes, but you will need to factor in the new iMacs is not an optical drive. You can connect the 2 Macs and use the Remote Disc feature

Use the CD or DVD drive from another computer with your Mac - Apple Support

Or you could make the installers disk images and copy the images.

A new Mac is likely to have an OS El Capitan on it, so you must update LP9 to the latest version (9.1.8) immediately after installation.

If I remember correctly, there are two different versions of the installation discs: there may be problems with the earlier mark of 2?

Both.

LPX is generally compatible with the files LP9. If you install the legacy and compatibility content of LPX, you should have all the material provided with LP9.

Note additional applications provided with LP9:

WaveBurner (discontinued)

Soundtrack Pro (discontinued)

Compressor (purchase)

etc etc.

  • After the migration to the new iMac 10.11.3 - unable to repair permissions on your Photos App library

I bought a new iMac running El Capitan and migrated from my old iMac running 10.6.8 and opening of the Photos app after migration ended I see the error "failed to repair permissions on your library. Initially, when I open the Photo app, I'm asked to select the library migrated or create a new. I select the library migrated and then see the above error.

I tried on my new iMac running disk utility, and there is no error reported. "I tried too hold down the command and option keys when opening the Photo app and I go as far as the window pop up prompting me that" you are about to repair of the 'iPhoto Library' library but after selecting the repair, it returns the error "year error occurred while repairing permissions" and citing is the only option given.

I then tried to go back to my old iMac and did a full rebuild of my photo library using the command and option keys when opening iPhoto App and also ran disk utility. Then I made another backup from time machine fees and moved once more to my new iMac. This has not improved the question, and I see the same mistakes.

I also tried the iPhoto App 3rd party download manager but it does not allow me to open the application because it returns the error iPhoto Library Manager, must have iPhoto 8.1.2 or later must be installed. Of course when you run 10.11.3. My App Photo conforms to this requirement.

I am really confused on this issue and would appreciate any help or advice for this problem.

    Kind regards

  • Migrate messages from the Macbook Air to new iMac 2012 2016

How can I migrate all my messages (text, iMessage) of my Macbook Air to my new iMac 2012 2016? I have a lot of messages on my laptop and I want to migrate them to my iMac just to have them for reference/memory later. I do this because I would like to activate the monthly updating of message on my iPhone, so he won't have to queue all my messages it years ago and I am also reformat my old Macbook Air. Is there a way to do this? Thank you!

Messages and e-mail accounts and data are found in/Home/Library/Messages/and/Home/Library/Mail/files. Just copy the content to the same folders on the new computer.

Or you can migrate your complete folder from the old computer to the new home. This can be done using the love at first sight between the two cable and on the new computer using target disk Mode use the Migration Wizard to migrate your application. It could also be run from a time Machine or another external backup drive.

Migration will not overwrite any user account that has already been created on the new computer. MY simply creates a new Admin user account name. You will then need to switch to the newly migrated account.

  • Get the new iMac - how upgrade from CS2

I get a new iMac in a few weeks and it will come with the new Snow Leopard operating system. I'm currently under Photoshop CS2 on a Powerbook running 10.4.11.

I know I need to switch from CS2 to CS4 to run Photoshop on the new iMac. What is the best way to do it? I don't think I can even install CS2 on the 10.6 iMac and have little place on my poor Powerbook first he set up.

It would be wonderful if I could keep the CS2 version running on my Powerbook and install a version upgrade of CS4 on the iMac. Is it still possible?

When you install CS4 update on the new Mac simply enter CS2 serial number when prompted.

Imported photos iphoto to ext drive to the new imac then lost new photos that were stored in the new «Photos for Mac»

All those Iphoto original is in my new mac now, but still using the format "iphoto". ...  Found the most recent that I had stored in the new format 'Photos for Mac' in icloud but can no longer run the new format or retrieve photos from icloud on the imac?  I'm confused... iPhoto Photos are two different applications and they use different libraries.

  • Use of bluetooth, how to copy selected music from my Macbook 2009 to my new iMac

Using bluetooth, how can I copy selected songs from iTunes in my old Macbook to my new iMac? (It might help us to let you know that I don't buy music from the iTunes store). Thanks in advance for your advice.

How old is the MacBook? Support AirDrop?  If this isn't the case, then the simplest method would be to use a flash drive to move audio files selected from the MacBook to the iMac.

  • Unable to connect to download FF update of the message from the FF site. What should I do? have the new IMac.

I got messages from Firefox for download and important update. When I click on download, I get a new screen that says contact Server download. I wait and wait and nothing happens after several minutes. This has happened 5 times recently. Is there something I need to do to allow FF to access my computer? If he has problems with the update or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a fresh install of the new version.

How can I selectively transfer files from an iMac 2009 to a new iMac in 2015? The two running os 10.11.3.

I do it with a G4 OS Tiger and the Mavericks MacBook by plugging into an Ethernet jack on my router and by enabling the sharing of files on the G4 in System Preferences > sharing.  If items are placed in a folder called 'Public', it can be read by anyone on the network by logging in as a guest. Otherwise, if I login with my user ID on this computer I get access read/write for all of my folders.

  • Restoring OS & Apps from the old to the new iMac

I have a 2008 iMac that has served me well so I can hardly keep from crying.  I'm finally getting a new iMac 27 inches 5 K 3.3 GHz.  My current iMac is up-to-date with OS X El Capitan and a bunch of applications of course, I don't want to have to re - install, configure, etc.  I keep a full mirror backup on an external LaCie drive. Wouldn't not OK to just reset the new hard drive and restore the OS and applications of my mirror image? All adapt to the new hardware configuration? Or is there a better way to do it so I don't have to reinstall my apps?

The best way to do it is the first time that you start your new Mac, you will be in the installation wizard. Follow the steps and choose to spend your 'old' Mac (sorry). Choose to transfer all.

  • Bought last week a new iMac and iPhoto does not come as an option to download photos from Facebook...

I used an iMac for years... bought a new iMac * last week and used my time machine back up to transfer data... ok, it has done that... now I have the toolbar "photo" and "iPhoto"...

Until now, when I right click on a photo, I was giving the option to iPhoto to transfer photos from Facebook... now, the only option I have given is 'photo '... I don't really want to use photo... I think iPhoto is easier to use...

So, how can I get iPhoto returned as an option?
