Switch Gigabit WRT610N issues [issues]

Hi all!

I have a WRT610N, a Modem ADSL Philips. and two computers (both using the Gigabit adapters)

I connected the Modem ADSL Philips (with 100 Mbps switch) with the WRT610N (via the port of bridge) and everything works like a charm... I have Internet 24\7 without problem. The WRT610N does all the work and I'm 100% convinced.

Go to the question of the gigabit switch...

I plugged both the two (gigabit) computers on the 4port Gigabit switch and I have a problem. Sometimes there are disconnections (for milliseconds) and then the LAN is back on. And the other problem is that many times, one of the cards of the SCP "haircuts" 1000 Mbps to 100 Mbps through its own.

I don't understand that... anyone having the same problem?

I use Cat5E cables (today I bought two cables Cat6 to test...). Is there a problem using Cat5E cables for Gigabit speeds?

also, can someone tell me if the Modem ADSL Philips will be bottleneck of the switch? (As I said I plugged into the WAN (bridge) of the Linksys WRT610N, and not in a LAN port port... so I think that I will have no reason of bottlenecks?)

I thank very you much for your time...!

Tried the Cat.6 cables I bought... Seems that the cables made their work. I could have solved the problem.

My 2 PC working at 1000Mbps without interruption for hours now.

I think that the problem is resolved.

(I will let you know if someone has the same problem with me..)

EDIT : that's all! Cable Cat.6 worked like a charm, no hic - ups more on my LAN... Two computers running on 1 Gbps smooooth! hope this will help other people having this problem...!

    Hello

So I have a podcast on the iTunes store, which currently has a feedburner feed and pulling the MP3s from an Amazon AWS account.

All episodes are now also hosted on SoundCloud so I want the iTunes and Feedburner, feed to point to the SoundCloud RSS like this will obviously save me money on my AWS account.

I added the tag to my current xml, but before I download that for the server that both iTunes and feedburner watch I don't know there is something else I need to do, like set up a 301 (which I do not know how!)

I'm also not 100% on this wise backend operation.  When someone accesses the old RSS feed it will just point their SoundCloud RSS as well which means that all future episode downloads and will come from there?  Then I can remove the current episodes of AWS and only add new to SoundCloud?

    Thank you very much

If the iTunes store using the Feedburner and streams that feed pulls its information from another stream. and you want to change the original feed to another as the Soundcloud food, you don't need to enter the new-feed-url or 301 redirects. All you need to do is tell Feedburner to use the stream from Soundcloud. So the next time that the bank check supply - usually a few days or more - she sees news feed via Feedburner.

The new-feed-url method is necessary only when the flow of the iTunes Store is actually being used needs to be changed. A 301 redirect behaves in the same way, but is only possible when you have control of the server. If you add the new-feed-url tag to flows that FeedBurner is currently using it will redirect the store and all the subscribers of the Feedburner feed and streams referenced in the tag. You should not add this tag (or delete if you added it) If you want to go on the use of Feedburner.

If the Feedburner feed is currently using a food to which you are happy to continue to use, all you need to do is change the URL to the media file of each episode to the new URL. This also applies if the current stream is built directly in Feedburner.

Each episode must (although she can't) contain a "guid" tag which is a unique identifier for the episode. If you move to another stream that you if possible keep the same tags 'guid' to your episodes, although very likely you will not have sufficient control to do this. In this case, your subscribers will see old episodes as a new episode and might well find themselves download again, according to their parameters. There is no way round this if the 'guid' tags have changed.

You shouldn't remove anything of AWS until you are sure that the store has evolved to the use of flow Feedburner modified. If you add a new episode to the modified food, but not to the former, which appears in the store (not only for subscribers) as soon as you are sure to close the AWS account.

  • USRP N210 connect through SWITCH GIGABIT

    Hello

A quick question to make it easier to work.
Now, I use 2 computers to the internet and work with the USRP.

Is it possible to connect my computer AND usrp to a gigabit switch so I can use internet and at the same time the USRP?

The subnet I receive is 10.67.49.1, so I give 10.67.49.2 my USRP.
My computer is assigned a random ip address in the DHCP-here beach. 137, but I can't see the USRP (not in the cmd > arp - a, not in of usrp config util). Even when I change the IP of my computer to: 10.67.49.3 it does not work...

But when I connect the usrp to my computer and use static IP address, it recognize...? Or is it just not possible...?

  • WRT320N used as switch gigabit single - Question

    Hello friends,

I use WRT320N a few days now and I'm happy with it so far! It has not overheated as many people reported and performance is also great (wifi and gigabit ports). I tested all the functions (NAT, Advanced Wireless Settings, Port Forwarding,... Access Restrictions) - all the great work, but I'm bit stuck on that easier - temporarily configure it as regular gigabit switch with an IP address: I put my cable WAN and LAN cables in ethernet ports 1-4. NAT, DHCP and firewalls are disabled in the router. I have the DHCP server in my network which is based on the MAC address IP address assignment. In "Setup" > "Basic settings" > "Router IP," I want to set up automatic configuration - DHCP, but it is not possible, so I just type the same IP address, it must obtain from the DHCP server (in this case 10.109.249.42). All ethernet ports 1-4 has the same MAC address (in this case, 00:25:9 C: 4 d: 16:86)?

Everything works fine, my computer's IP addresses are correctly assigned (as well as wifi devices) from the DHCP server on my network, but I feel like WRT320N address is unaffected - the problem is that I can't connect to the router under http://10.109.249.42 administration. There is no IP restrictions for remote management. Any ideas?

Screenshot of my "status" > "Local network".

Routers Linksys WRT are not designed to be used as a simple access point/ethernet switch. That's why you won't find any configuration options you like for this configuration. You must configure a static IP address to the address LAN IP on the WRT. There's no other way. It's always a static IP address. The WRT will never get the address LAN IP of the server because it is designed to serve as a internet gateway and the DHCP server.

It is clear to me why you are not able to access http://10.109.249.42/ while you are able to access the status page...

Is the computer from which you are trying to access the router within the 10.109.249. *?

  • E3200 status for the Port issues

    Hello

On my E3200 (Firmware v1.0.04), I service gigabit (technology Versa Vx-200E) plugged into the WAN port and 4 lines connected to the LAN ports.

"The Internet Port" shows 10 / 100 Mbps (why could - this be?)

    LAN Status port:

1 - Gigabit poster.  (Connected to a Gigabit Netgear GS108 switch)

2 Watch at all without status (connected to a switch gigabit TP-Link TL-SG10005D)

3 watch at all without status (connected to a switch gigabit TP-Link TL-SG10005D)

4 watch at all without status (connected to a switch gigabit TP-Link TL-SG10005D)

Why the Internet Port displays 10/100 when a Gigabit is connected to it?

Why do 2-4 LAN ports show no status at all?

    Thank you.

    Paul

Hey, Paul! The WAN port on the router is not gigabit capable so there is no way he will go beyond 10/100. The LAN ports will show only status if data packets are transferred.

  • SRW2024 console unconnectable / unknown "switch ip.

    Model No.: SRW2024 version 1.1

    Serial number: RIE1061000687 GGR2806 MM

    Namelesstag: 0014bf59A19E

    Boot sequence:
Time: 0 - inserted power cable
Time: 0.1 s - system led glow / fan starts
Time: 2 s - Port status LED lights to the connected devices (since my router and the laptop has gigabit, "Link/act" and the "Gigabit" (green/yellow) leds light up

I bought this switch on ebay. The seller said he had just jused it to "separate the internet."
It was never used as anything else then a standard switch. He didn't have the 'ip' switch or the name of user and password of directors there.

I know that you can easily connect to the switch via the console despite "not knowing the password".

The switch works like a standard switch "not manageable. All ports are working, and I can connect to the switch and the switch to my computer a TP-cable from my router. This works for all ports.

But I'm not able to reach the configuration of the switch. Web dosnt work, since I do not know the ip address of the switch. I tried a few kommon ip like 192.168.1.1/192.168.1.254 and 10.0.0.1/10.0.0.254 with no luck.

Normally this wouldn't be a problem, as you can connect via serial (RS232) console port.

I can not connect via the console port.
I have a converter usb to rs232 I tried without success. This converter has worked for simular devices in the past (dreambox, another computer), but I get no response from the switch when you use hyperterminal of windows.

Thinking that the serial cable could be bad it made me try the "loopback test he." By shortning pin 2-3 the "switch side" of the cable. Now, I get the characters I type in hyperterminal, and it tells me that it is not a cable problem? Or it could stil be?

    Parameters used:
    Com: 27
    Bits per second: 38400
    Data bits: 8
    Parity: None
    Stop bits: 1
    Flow control: no

I thought this might be because "usb to rs232" converters dosnt always work. I plugged my old celeron, with windows XP computer. It has a serial communications port, but it gave no results.

I also tried to connect the cable series from my laptop and my old computer. This method works. Characters typed on a computer is displayed on the other computer.

Can I use the '74-0495-01"what either (photo below)? It is in the box with the switch, but AFAIK it is not usable on this switch.

    Issues related to the:

Is it possible to "deaktivate" port of the console? It gives me a chance to find the "switch ip".

Is it possible to restore the default configuration of the switch shorting something inside the switch? Then I was able to connect to the default ip address: 192.168.1.254
It is strange that the switch works when it seems that the configuration of switch area appears to be dead?

Does anyone else have any other ideas or tips?

    Hi Hareide,

Here are a few things that come to my mind:

    1. check if you use straight through DB9 - DB9 cable, no filter

    2. try to use weaker in hyperterminal transfer speeds, where speed has been changed. Common tariffs are 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200

    3. you can install the software Wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org/) on your computer and capture of traffic from the interface connected to the switch. You can see the IP address of the switch in some packages, or if she asks an IP by DHCP. In the second scenario, you need to connect the switch to a network with DHCP, so that he can choose an address, and then access it by web menu/telnet

Let us know if this helps you,

    Best regards

    Janis

  • Does not Xperia m4 aqua - switch on the problem

A day after the update a few days ago, I noticed switching on the issue.

When I switch on the phone screen, black spirit Xperia logo appears and flashes slowly.

Hard reset and 120 sec reset method - no positive results.

I tried PC companion - repair is no problem, but when I try to turn on the phone - always the same-screen black with the logo result.

I need help - any other procedure to do? or repair service will be the solution?

    BR

    Hi @rafalc,

    I'm sorry to hear that.

If the repair of software did not help, then it seems not that your phone is in need of service. I suggest you contact your team of Local support for more information on how to here.

  • The WAN Port is communicating with the Ethernet switch?

I have a Comcast gateway that the router is disabled in so it acts only as a modem. This is related to an Airport Extreme, which serves as my router via the WAN on the AE port. I created a different WAP with a Capsule temporal from the airport, located downstairs with an Ethernet cable from one of the Ethernet ports on the AE to the WAN on the TC port. I think it's what we call a 'roaming network.

My question is, can I connect my switch Gigabit 8 ports in one of the Ethernet ports on the TC to complete connections wired to all devices connected on it, or should I first connect EI to the switch 8 ports and then connect the switch to the port WAN TC to complete my network "roaming"? In other words, plug it into the port WAN AE or TC still allows you to use other Ethernet ports as a switch?

    Thank you!

can I plug my Gigabit 8 ports switch in one of the ports Ethernet on the TC to complete wired connections to all devices connected on it

Yes, assuming that the TC has been configured to run in Bridge Mode, which would be normal.

or should I first connect EI to the switch 8 ports and then connect the switch to the TC WAN port to complete my network "roaming"?

It would be considered preferable to wiring, if it is convenient to do so.  For example, in the configuration of the wiring in the previous example just above... If there is a problem with the time Capsule, then all devices connected to the switch to the time Capsule would have a problem as well.

If the switch is connected to the AirPort Extreme, and the TC is then connected to the switch... If the TC has a problem, the other devices connected to the switch of will not be affected.

  • Can I use a router downstream of a switch

I have a connection internet optical fiber that does not require a modem.  I have a server in my home office LAN Win Server 2008 R2 - for access by remote clients - RDS and 5 computers.  Computers Server and 2 have gigabit network ports, the other maps of 100 MB.  I also have a static IP address from my ISP for my server to be visible to the internet.

Because my gigabit router is dead, I currently have an old 100 router MB Wireless with 4-port Ethernet 100 Mb, which feeds my switch gigabit (unmanaged), but this causes the switch to be reduced to 100 MB.  To avoid buying a router again, a bit expensive, gigabit, I would like to know if it is possible to have my switch FRONT of the router, so that my gigabit computers can operate at full speed and 100 MB computers can be connected to the router.

I tried just their hanging in this way, but nothing has worked, but I don't know if I missed something.

Assuming that you have an external IP only, which will not work. The router must be online before computers.  It is the router that allows a single WAN address to be shared among multiple computers.

  • SR2024C network problems out of Box

    Hello

I added 2 switches gigabit SR2024C with miniports (10/100/1000) to my network. I have them in 2 closets separate connected via fiber for miniports. As soon as I connected the switches in my existing network, I lost all connectivity on the network (servers, workstations, and PLCs. I couldn't ping servers or workstations. I could only ping via loopback for testing.

As soon as I disconnected the servers (and waited about a minimum or then everything began to speak again.  I could ping servers, workstations etc.

As a test, I have reintroduced the Sr2024c in the new network and BAM! the same problem. Knocks out the entire network. (And nothing that I plugged in the new switches even further than fiber linking the SR2024 2 then the fiber connecting from my network existing in the SR20204.  Another test I tried was hang each SR2024 separately in the network existing, thinking that perhaps one was bad, but they both were individually doing the same thing.

Someone knows a problem like that?  This stinks... any input would be appreciated...

    Thank you

One of the things I would check is to make sure that all switches run the same STP. You should be able to issue the following command on the cisco switches to ensure the good functioning of STP

    Switch #: show spanning tree

  • Copying files between hard drives problem

    Hello

I have problems copying files between hard drives on my computer. I was having this problem on Windows 7 and Windows Vista, but never met him on XP.  It seems that there are several similar topics, but I think I've noticed a few oddities in my own experience...

I have several drives, between 500 GB ~ 1 TB.  Problems arise when I try to copy a folder with a large number of files (pictures, records about 4 GB in size, typically).  Initially, the transfer rate would be HD burst speed, somewhere between 90 MB to 150 MB.  Speed would be reduced to about 30 MB, or even lower.  The transfer ends by becomes so slow that the operation would take hours to complete.  If I try to cancel, it would take minutes to do.  The computer run slowly for a long period of time, with an offset of intermittent until I have to reboot the system.  This occurs regardless the source and destination drives.

On some Samsung drives, this problem is actually lead to the corruption of data on the source and destination drives and i/o error messages.  CHKDSK runs at startup, try to solve the problem, but the data would be lost or unreadable disc.  I have since thrown the Samsung WD drives, do not have IO error, but the file copy problem persists.  I also disabled chkdsk at startup for all readers.

My drivers and Bios are up-to-date.  Computer is free of viruses and malware.  I have no more trouble with Windows 7.  Curiously, if I compress my folders/files in one RAR file, I have no problems copying (transfer rate remains stable at 30 ~ 50MB).  This leads me to believe that this is not a hardware problem, but a problem with the Explorer of solutions, and that respect more particularly with the number of files transferred rather than size.  (But unpacking these files also lead to poor performance sometimes...)

Is this a known issue that will be corrected?  I really like Win7, but because I work with large number of files and many backups all the time, stability during the file copying is a must.  I have perhaps to go back to XP, or use another OS entirely...

    I had the same problem;

    My system-

    Windows 7 Pro 64
    Core i7 940
7200 RPM dual 500 GB SATA
    Gigabit ethernet

    Gigabit ethernet switch
    Gigabit router

Buffalo NAS 1 TB, RAID 0, Gigabit Ethernet

    -----

I was getting speeds of transfer of a maximum of 500 / 600 KB/s between the hard drive and network storage drive. I went through a number of * fixed * on the web without success, however, I disabled "TCP AutoTuning" and "RSS" rebooted and voila, I now get speeds of transfer of 9-10 MB / s and from the network drive.

    The fix
It should be noted that, in addition to this, I have updated to the latest updates for Windows and off the DRC in the Windows Options under programs/features.

How to disable TCP AutoTuning and receive scalability side

    1. Open a prompt with administrator rights.
    2. Type the following commands, and press enter (the second command on RSS is optional):

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel = disabled
netsh interface tcp set global rss = off

    3. Restart the computer.

  • ATV4 - bad sound

    Hello

So I have this problem with Apple on the ATV4 music. The sound is really muffled and distorted. I changed the output 5.1 auto in settings and it seems to be a slight improvement, but is not the only striking sound is still not clear. Songs played on TV channels or Youtube all the normal sounds, but the app Apple music songs are suppressed. Apple music is called to play always more high quality, whatever the internet resources. And internet high speed is 1 Gbps.

    Config: ATV4

    TV: Sony 50W815 (2014 model)

    Audio system: Sony DAV-TZ140

ATV4 connects via a HDMI cable to the TV. There is highspeed, latest standard. It connects to the internet via an ethernet CAT7 cable.

    Help, please!

I know you said the sound is muffled and distorted but there could be something in this support article for help.

Get help with audio, video, or power on Apple TV - Apple Support

If you hear static or that you hear no sound on your Apple TV

Get help with surround sound. For all other issues, follow these steps and check the audio after each step:

    1. Unplug both ends of your HDMI cable. Then plug them in.
    2. Turn off your TV and receiver (if you use one). Unplug your Apple TV to power, then reconnect. Re-turn on your receiver and your TV.
    3. Connect your Apple TV directly on your TV instead of use a receiver or HDMI switch, as the issue might be with your receiver or switch.
    4. On your Apple TV, choose settings > Audio and video.
    5. Make sure that the Audio output is on Apple TV.
    6. Change the Audio Auto Mode to 16 bits.
    7. On Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), change the Dolby Digital Out on OFF setting.

If there is no sound when navigate you in the menu, select settings > Audio & video and ensure that the sound effects and music is on.

  • Satellite P200-143 stop questions

When I turned off my computer, while on the network, the computer shuts down normally, but a minute later, automatically restarts.

However, on the battery it stops as it should.
I checked my power settings, and they are all very good.
So I was wondering if anyone knew what I could do.

I was stop by keeping the power button down, as seems to be the only way.

What operating system do you use?
Is this an original image of Toshiba preinstalled?

To be honest, this issue seems to be very strange
I've never seen anything like that of course I know to automatically turn off the bottom but never about automatically switch on the issue.

    Hi hanzo

It's really strange question and on this virtual path, it is not possible to say what may be the problem. These questions must be checked a little intensive.
What we can do is to speculate on the possible reasons for such behavior of the laptop.

Putting off tension of the issue can be caused by the high material temperature but this switching on the issue is truly unique. I've never heard before.

I put t know what you think of all this, but maybe you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and ask for help. They can check it out. I don t know where you live and how is since long a standard warranty of your country, but I assume that the warranty is still valid, so it can be fixed for free.

Be honest, what you can do about it, especially if the problem is the power button / stop? You can solve this problem?

  • PoE has stopped working on PowerConnect 7048P

    Hello

Three of my switches have stopped transmitting the power of Ethernet to devices, the above image is the main indication that there is some type of problem, that and record entries that follows:

Warning SEP 10 16:08:09 POE Unable to get access to the controller of PoE.

Everybody runs into this at all?

My firmware on my devices is 5.1.4.5 (I think that the firmware in the screenshot above is the PoE controller firmware).

I experience this twice on the PC7000 series.  The only resolution is to RMA the switch.  The issue is that PoE controller disconnects with no way to get it back.  How solve this with TAC should run the following command:

See the inline version of the firmware power

If you see a firmware version number as 4.0.1.2 controller is very good, if you see request timeout, then the switch must be that would be RMA.
