To set the spell checker to use English in Office 2003
I use Office 2003. Recently, I was using a documented who wrote in Spanish in South America. I wrote in English. The spell checker has proved to be in Spanish. I tried to change the country, but whenever I did it would return to the Spanish. I can't find a way to put the spell checker to use only English. I loaded a document originally written in English, but the spell checker remained in Spanish
Can you help me.

How to keep English as a default value in the spell checker after adding another dictionary?
I added a Spanish dictionary for firefox that I sometimes email Spanish-speaking. Since then, the spell checker has stuck to Spanish language by default whenever I restart the browser.
As soon as I select English, it remains until I close the browser. But goes back to Spanish when I open a new window.
I tried every setting I could find, and I also tried to remove and reinstall both languages via add dictionary.
I am at a loss. Can anyone offer some advice?
Thank youYou can check the spellchecker.dictionary pref setting on the topic: config page and if the pref tells the user the value (in bold) and then try to reset via the context menu to the default value.
You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue. If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

The spell checker in the bad taste of the English
So I am sure I posted this a couple of weeks, but I can't find he's going so here once again.
I am running Firefox 3.6.13 provided with Ubuntu (10.10).
When I use a word like flavor, the spell checker highlights with the tildes and suggests 'flavour '. Similarly for the behavior and other words. I agree (that I just sqiggled; he wants to "recognize) as the British spelling convention. I downloaded the 5.01 spell English of the United States, but that was of no use. I finally thought to look in: config and found: spellchecker.dictionary the value en_AU - in other words, the Australian Dictionary.
I can't just blindly this put to US without knowing that:
-C' is the correct name for the dictionary I need. (Seems likely).
-That the extension above is indeed the dictionary it would have access.I note that the Australian Dictionary is spelled en_AU - with an underscore - while the American dictionary is spelled en - with a dash. It is the kind of stuff I have to watch out for, because if I bumble, I am not able to restart FireFox.
Thanks for the help here.

Is easier to let Firefox to do this.
You can see which dictionary is selected if you right click in a text box and open the submenu language.
You can open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you don't.
Also make sure that [X] "Check spelling" in the menu contextual has a tick.See also:

Checking spelling WinXP and OE6
Hello, I use Office 2010 and Outlook Express 6 with Windows XP. In order to recover the English spelling in OE6, I installed the spell checker for OE http://www.snapfiles.com/get/spelloe.html. I would like to find a similar tool to retrieve the spelling correction in OE6 for Italian. So not the tools that spell everything I write anywhere, but one that works from OE6 allowing me to choose the Italian in the drop-down relative to the menu where to find English (United States) spell now. Can someone help me?
Thank you
Best regards
I've been in the OE newsgroup & forums for nine years and I've never seen a third Italian spelling part for OE.
If you have a copy of Microsoft Office 2003, you may be able to get that way.

Why the spell checker has become delayed?
It was that features built-in to firefox spellchecker did exactly what I needed, it's to tell me when I misspelled a Word. However, it seems these days that it is dictionary source is manufactured by complete idiots.
More than 2 dozens of times now, I've learned that a word somewhere in my internetting will not, just to google it and find out who guess what? IT HAS BEEN SPELLED CORRECTLY.
The spell checker does not recognize as the word MILLENNIUM. WTF ha [open?Unless you have misspelled voluntarily the word MILLENNIUM in your question, the correct spelling is Millennium (2 n, not 1).
- U. S. English: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/millennium
- British English: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/millennium
You must install a dictionary instead of using the built-in dictionary (u. s. English Firefox only). It seems that you do not have a dictionary installed: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/language-tools/

The correct spelling is displayed in the English Dictionary of the u. by doing a right click on the misspelled word. I have not installed British English Dictionary.

the express uses french Outlook for the spell checker
I had the same problem with my old pc with window7 I remember something being said about widows 7 not being compatible with office 7 that I installed. the parameters are for English and outlook express is used with office use enlish to spell check, but when I'm not using Office E-mail it will use french for spell checking. Because I don't speak french, it is a problem. I prefer not to use e-mail with the office if I can avoid it... I remember that a person of this forum developed a fix for the problem I downloaded and it was corrected. Have afix. Thank you.

How to disable permanently the spell check in Notes
How to disable permanently the spell check in Notes?
Here are my steps:
- With the help of Notes in OS X 10.11.5, click Edit/spelling and grammar and then clearly the 2 options "check spelling as you type" and "automatically correct spelling."
- Close and re - open Notes.
What I expected:
only the two options "check spelling as you type" and "automatically correct spelling" is always disabled when Notes is reopened
In fact:
the two options "check spelling as you type" and "automatically correct spelling" is enabled once more
Spell check in Notes for a reason any seems particularly disruptive and unnecessary. Any way to turn it off permanently?
System text/keyboard/preferences and uncheck automatically correct spelling.
