Switch ThinkPad Yoga Clickpad with new TrackPad

Hello world

The new ThinkPad Yoga 12 seems to have the same dimensions as the original ThinkPad Yoga. Does anyone know if it is possible to install the new TrackPad with the buttons of the 12 tons per YEAR in the old model? Or are there hardware/driver problems?
I'm sure that many have the same question for their machines, for example the T440, what about those?

Thank you!

  • ThinkPad Yoga 14 upgrade to SSD

    Hello

I just bought the Thinkpad Yoga 14 with i5/8 GB DDR3/1 TB Hybrid drive

I also bought a processor Intel 240 GB SDD upgrade to.

I tried to clone the disk SSD, but it gives just a blank screen or select jumps back to the boot of the screen when start to boot.

I also tried to boot from a USB stick with Windows 8 on it, then install it on the SSD, but the same thing happens when you try to boot from USB (white screen or jumps back to the boot selection screen.

I tried to turn off Secure Boot, boot legacy mode, boot order, Windows load mode turn off/on... nothing works.

Technical hotline of Lenovo does not support upgrades.

Please, any help would be great.

Hello, I did the SSD upgrade last night and everything works so much better! I'm still not sure about the ram if its extensible or not.

Here are the steps I took to swap the drive hybrid SSD HARD drive:

    (1) bought SanDisk Ultra II 480 GB Solid State Drive - $139.00

    (2) purchased Insignia 3.0 Portable Hard Disk Drive Enclosure - $29.00

The case comes with the cable, you must clone the disks and then you can use your old HDD as a disk after having done an image backup and system if you want to, otherwise you have to buy the enclosure but will cable. I found the cost of the cable start around $10 and go on a $29, so I just went with the box. You can find quite different price elsewhere, that's just what I found locally.

    (3) make a backup of your entire system to an external drive, a system image backup and image of the system CD drive just in case.

    (4) download cloning software. I went with the free Sandisk recommended software - EZ GIG IV

    (5) Connect and clone old HDD to your Instructions SDD news will be with your new drive or the software.

    (6) once the clone is complete, unplug your internal battery in the BIOS. Instructions for this can be found in thinkpad manual.

    7) turn the power off and remove the laptop cover. Instructions for this are also in the thinkpad manual.

    (8) remove the old HARD drive. Thinkpad manual instructions

    (9) install the new SSD. Follow the instructions in the manual of Thinkpad and Instructions supplied with SSD

    (10) closing the case back up, put the screws back in and power on.

He had a black screen for a while when I turned it on and while I studied what had not worked, that I thought it was normal and literally as I was reading all came and was immediately noticeable how fast he was. I ran the Bios Update tool on the lenovo support area but I didn't have to change anything in the bios and everything works great. I did not remove the 16 GB card as Ive read that some people have. I'm still not sure if this makes a difference or not. The event viewer shows no defects, and it shows as active / online and running.

I'm always interested to find if I can pass the ram from 8 to 16 GB. If anyone knows...

Also, I've upgraded to Windows 10 the day I bought the machine, so I don't know if that has nothing to do with the swap go smoother.

  • ThinkPad Yoga S1 does not start - fan runs only

    Hi guys

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1 (Type 20CD-00ALMZ) which was working fine for the last 10 months, but now refuses to start. I use it everyday at work on the docking of desktop with screen and keyboard, mouse.

The last three days, I couldn't start the button on the docking station, by the hard button on himself.

Today, it was totally fine, even on the hard button that it no longer starts.

    The behavior is fallowing:

    -push the power button

-the 'I' light on the logo comes up and the fan turns up about 3 seconds

    -l' screen stays off

-After that, it turns off completely for about 1 second and leaves with the same behavior

-This boot loop continues until I close it and it stops from new

Anyone who has any idea about this?

    Thank you and best regards

  • MDT 2013 Thinkpad Yoga 12 - WinPE boot problems

We have two models of Thinkpad Yoga and use the same ethernet USB dongle to run MDT and their image with Win 8.1.

Type 20 c 0 works very well. When we arrived the 20DK of a new type, we had some problems with our image of fat because of the different hardware profile and we weren't using a configuration of total control for drivers on our MDT.

I created a new MDT installation on a virtual machine and I use the method of total control of the management of drivers by model. I have a profile of selection for winPE and imported the drivers of storage and network for both models (x 64 only, we don't have any x 86). I tried initially the USB3 Ethernet adapter driver I found under downloads for the 20 c model 0 but have tried since the upload of pack pilot SCCM and other I found specifically for the adapter realtek and SCCM, but nothing has changed. The current versions of pilot in my winpe folder are 8.15.0701.2014 and 8.8.0911.2013. Have updated the deployment share, copied the contents of the x 64 folder and copied the litetouchx64.wim in the sources on our USB startup folder and renamed to boot.wim.

Currently on the 20DK I get the initial screen for MDT spash with blue background, but before any connection charges of screen I get the blue screen of crash with error (ndis.sys) System_thread_exception_not_handled. I guess I do know for sure that it is a problem of network driver but because it fails before the same connection to the deployment share it led me to believe that this was the case. I tried to turn off 3 USB mode in the bios to see if this will have an impact, and he didn't.

The 20 c 0 still works fine and I was able successfully to the image (from my old wim of fat that I copied from my old server mdt)

Completed up to add all the drivers for this model in the folder of WinPE drivers and who took care of her.

  • SAMSUNG SSD Pro 840 died after two days of Thinkpad Yoga

I replaced my new Thinkpad Yoga with Samsung 840 Pro SSD and he died two days after I see the core in something Page error, and I couldn't start later. I am connected later this SSD to USB port on my other laptop and he was dead. Lenovo Diagnostics failed for SSD drive as well.

I would like to know if anyone of you tried Pro 850 with Thinkpad Yoga and was happy with it?

I have a S1 of Yoga in which I recently installed a Samsung 850 Evo (not the 840, not the Pro 850, but they are similar). So far, he's doing much - he has been here for about 2 weeks now.

It is Windows Pro 8.1 with full disk encryption enabled.

  • Pen Active ThinkPad Yoga 14 (20FY) does not

Just picked up a new Thinkpad Yoga. No doubt thrilled by the specifications, it seems to be the laptop perfect for me the dedicated graphic combination, capacity 2-to-1 and especially, a wacom pen. However, upon getting it home, I find that the pen is not working either. Curious, I went back to Best Buy and tried the pen on the display model. This one does not work either.

They have some kind of problem with the digitizer pen works do not? Is there any fix known for this?

Have you some troubleshooting on mine. Discovered by putting the pen from my computer on another computer that the pen refill port on my computer is defective. Pen works fine when loaded into another computer.

Certainly hoped he would pen and not the computer itself. Now, I just have to decide if this feather is worth not having my computer for too long.

    Greetings,

    I bought a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 260 (Core i7, 8 GB of RAM, Win10 Pro 64-bit, the Type of Machine 20FD) October 18, 2016.

When I connect it to my external monitor Dell U2713H, the screen blackens periodically respectively off and turn it back on after 1-2 seconds. The display works fine with my other 260 Yoga with the same specifications.

The problem occurs when connected via DisplayPort, but also via HDMI. I have all tried, installed upgrading the BIOS, all new drivers, reset the Yoga to the factory settings and tried it again.

Have you any idea what need then try to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

  • Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X 1 touch screen does not work

    Hi all

I just bought a brand new Thinkpad Yoga X 1 and out of the box, the touch screen is not recognized by windows and no entry through fingers or via pen works.

I would be very happy if someone could tell me if it's just a wrong settings or if the laptop is faulty.

    Thank you in advance,

    Torben

    Hello Peter,.

Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately, it was not a software problem, but the dealer that I bought traded without any hesitation and now I have a new unit that works like a charm.

    Best regards

  • Help of digitizer Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga S1

OK, so I just got a thinkpad yoga S1. The that I had was the one without the digitizer pen automatically installed in the side of the computer. The pen came separately and it is the same as that exact one used with the version that comes with the pen. I do not know the product code or even what her name. Which driver should I install and how can I register the product? Also, because the version I have has as a black spot where the digitizer normally goes is there a way I can get out and be able to accommodate the supplied stylus separately?

I think that there are two options, that it is either the stylus or it doesn't. Who does not have integrated pen does not support the feather because of the used Panel. That's what I remember when I was doing research in this unit.

  • ThinkPad Yoga - black screen

After reading question formidable black screen for other models, I check if the Thinkpad Yoga also has the black screen problem. Since this happened just within one month after the expiration of the warranty, if it proves to be the hardware problem this has strong changes as the latest product lenovo belonging to the family.

Question: I'm back a work House to wake up my sleeping Lenovo. Noticed that he seemed to be in mode black screen with nothing appear. So tried to press a few buttons and then finally turned off using the button. To restart, I could see the sign of Lenovo and the option to press ENTER to check the other options and I ignored as usual scenario happy path and let it go. At the time, that it usually starts showing the Windows screens, I don't see anything happen. A black screen with all the lights on the keyboard still works but no screen. Connected to the projector to see if the login screen displays, but it didn't. Tried to reboot several times, reset using the hole of pin down, ran Diagnostics and tried to update the system etc using the options of troubleshooting, checked BIOS settings - that appear on the screen and the LCD like a charm test pass, but when Windows starts does not work.

ThinkPad Yoga 15 running on Windows 10 pro. 20DQ type of machine.

The frustarting thing is guaranteed just expired in late July, phone support will not even discuss the issue since he arrived at expiration. I spent the right amount of days thinking about spending a lot on this laptop last year only to reach a point in a year I might have to spend little more just to save her. Help, please!

Hello. Is it possible that system has gone through an automatic update to Windows 10 anniversary? If Yes, I have experienced the same problem - it will not start and show only black screen. For me, the previous generation ASR failed also. Here are my options:

    (1) I managed to complete the update after you follow this procedure - https://support.lenovo.com/cz/en/solutions/ht501760

    (2) if that is not enough at this point (I don't know if this setting is needed before a failed installation), I was able to recover a previous version:

-on another computer, download Microsoft media creation tool and create and install USB offline media

-boot from media by pressing F12 at startup and on the second screen (I think) at installation, you can decide not to install the system, but recover the system - there is a link on the lower left corner. This brings you to the recovery screen where you can revert to a previous version

I would like to know if it's completely irrelevant, or it is useful.

  • ThinkPad Yoga 14 (20FY) - can not auto-rotation, Missing in Action Center - WIndows 10

I just did a clean install of Windows on my Thinkpad Yoga 14 10. I tried to install all the drivers that I could. The only thing missing for the laptop, it's that I can't auto-rotation in tablet mode. Auto-rotation setting is missing from the center of the action and enter the display settings is not an option to allow auto-rotation. I also tried enabling the sensor, the sensor monitoring service and Service of sensor data with no luck. What are the conditions to get this working?

    Thank you!

I finally got it to work. After some intense searching, I found the driver that I had to install. It ends up being the Intel integrated sensor Solution. Installation of the package has work as well as the addition of a "sensors" section in device with drivers HID sensor Manager.

    http://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds112057

It's weird that the driver does not show in the ThinkPad Yoga 14 drivers page.

  • ThinkPad Yoga wakes up on his own after going to sleep cover blame if the wifi is enabled

Recently, I noticed that my Thinkpad Yoga (20CD00B1US) guard wake up itself.

    powercfg-lastwake returns

    Suite history Count - 1
    Wake history [0]
    Wake Source Count - 1
    Wake Source [0]
    Type: camera
    Path of the instance: ACPI\PNP0C0D\2 & daba3ff & 2
    Friendly name:
    Description: ACPI lid
    Manufacturer: (Standard system thing)

Happens if the lid is kept open and I used the power button / stop for sleep or if I just close the lid. As soon as I do that, I see red LED comes on and off slowly so I know he's asleep. However within 5 minutes or less, I see that the red LED on the top of the 'I' on continuously.

    If I powercfg - devicequery wake_armed, I get

    Intel (r) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

It's really weird. I have wireless WPA2 (PSK) network, and I am confident that other devices are not so smart to send all the WOL packets (or whatever it is called for the wireless). I also have the AMT and other stuff turned off in the BIOS. Smart Connect Intel's Remote Wake on OFF, keep fresh data is ISOLATED as well. The problem goes away if I turn (turn off wifi) airplane mode before you send the PC to sleep.

Anyone who undergoes a similar behavior and what can I do to avoid waking up without flipping switch wifi? It is strange that the lid is to blame, while the problem is somehow related to the wireless adapter.

P.S., the installed BIOS version is 1.05 (not the last 1.06). All critical updates are installed.

You can check the properties of the WNIC in Device Manager to see if allow this device to wake the computer under power management is enabled. If so, deselect the option to see if your problem is resolved.

    Kind regards.

  • Boot ThinkPad Yoga 'howto' from a SD card?

    Hello

is it possible to make bootable from a SD card on Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga?

I live linux image, but there is no optical drive on the system, then I would be happy to use the SD card slot. When don't start with selection of boot, there no SD card slot even though I have inserted in bootable SD card. On the other system, the same card start correctly.

Is there some settings of wood to allow the start of SD card slot, so it will be included in the list of boot devices? The same system to boot from USB, USB use a USB port, so the SD card is a better option.

    Concerning

ThinkPad does not support booting from SD card.
