However, as I've used Apple computers for more than 30 years, he never had a case when they released an additional OS that works on previously excluded material.

OS for mid 2009 MacBook Pro update
I work for a non-profit on a laptop given to us by a local research laboratory. So the first thing to understand is that I have to find "the best way to make things work" even though it is not as advanced or great power that may be desirable in an ideal situation. Who says:
I've been running OS 10.6.8 on a MacBookPro mid-2009. From now on, the software companies are all pulling the versions of software that I can use on 10.6.8 so I have no choice but to update my operating system.
My concern: two years ago I updated a MacBookPro 2007 10.6.8 to 10.7 (Lion) and he died 3 weeks later. The technology at the Mac Genius Bar told me that it was because the real hardware - hard drive of the machine - was so old that the upgrade has been too hard on it and it burned. I understand that, even if the hard drive is not burning after an upgrade, the computer may run very slowly and for the same reason (physical constraints). It would also be a problem.
Given all this, what is the best suggestion for the safest possible and achievable OS upgrade, that I can put on my machine so I can stay in business? Can probably manage 10.7, even if the material is nearly 7 years old? What 10.8.5 10.8 or same?
I realize that system specs say it can work even in Yosemite. But I don't want to take the risk that go well, given my recent disasters.

Hello! Can anyone help me in this state of EtreCheck to understand what I need to do to improve performance with my MacBook Pro? The computer is slow to respond after the computer starts. Apps are also slow to load. Once I have apps open, the speed is satisfactory. It just seems to have the hiccups a lot just to get there.

Mid 2009 macbook pro running slow after update
I had my computer since 2009, everything was quickly until I upgraded to Snow Leopard to El Capitan. After the update to El Capitan turn quite slowly. He was also heat very quickly. I ran first aid and running being check. I backed everything up to TimeMachine, removed several old files (movies, photos, etc.), but it is still slow. Best replacement battery for mid 2009 Macbook Pro
Hi all
The battery on my MBP of mid 2009 is on its way. I discovered recently that Apple now no no batteries for MBP 2009 community service because they are vintage. I was very disappointed by Apple, after hearing this. My question is what is the best replacement of the third battery in my laptop? I read the comments from Anker Lizone, keys and power GreenBox. Kernel Panic mid-2009 Macbook Pro
Hi guys,.
Since OSX Mavericks, my mac frequently crashes and restarts. I initially if it was to him more heating, but appears not to be the case, as it does cold also. I am totally confused because it's so random when it does. I upgraded the Ram in 2010 and it has been fine, but I saw a few people here with a similar problem who have posted their journal of crash and said that it is the RAM. I really hope that someone can help because it's getting really frustrating. I know that I probably need to upgrade my mac, but one I don't have the money right now and B it is a model of Steve Jobs, thus, I am reluctant to negotiate. In any case, here is the log. I have a faulty ram (top) slot for a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro 13 "i5. Can I install a 8 GB Ram in the slot below or is maximally 4 GB?
This was after the 3 beep error and I couldn't restart the Mac with one of the 2 GB of Ram into the lower slot.
Is there a way to test if the top housing is faulty or just dirty?

Yes, the MBP will work with a single module of RAM installed, but there will be a slight performance decrease. A MBP 2012 will accept a module of 8 GB RAM.
Is there a way to test if the top housing is faulty or just dirty?
Install each RAM module individually in each slot, leaving the other empty. If the two RAM modules work in a slot and not the other, the slot is faulty. Sometimes the adjustment screw can resuscitate the slot. If this is not the case, make an appointment at an Apple store for a FREE evaluation.

Mid 2012 Macbook Pro with or without retinal incredibly slow
Hello, I'm typing this for my mother. It has a mid-2012 Macbook pro without the retina which is very slow. She has recently updated to 16 GB of ram, and we are all pretty sure she did her properly. On crucial.com, I chose my system I, mid-2012 MacBook Pro 15 inches. I want to move to 8 GB of ram, but I want to know if their DDR3L will work. On their site it says DDR3 is 1.35 volts and the DDR3L is 1.35 volts as well. They are both the same speed, 1600. What is the difference between the two and the DDR3L will work?
