Switchable graphics option Bios Update Dv7 4100 series for hd 5650 m driver

Y at - it another version of bios for my laptop? (I've included a few specifications of my laptop at the end of my post)

I heard an update of the bios of other series that could control your switchable graphics. But my notbook integrates the latest version of the bios that I can download (v3.5, I think).  And this version does not include the switchable chart control.

Why I ask this question? Because with switchable graphics disabled, you should be able to update your video card driver. With this driver I could play new games like far cry 3 or other new games with the quality, I should be able to play.

My laptop:

-Pavilion dv7-4177-eb

-Video card: Mobility radeon hd 5650 graphics card

-CPU: i5 M460

-Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 144 b

with greetings

Jori

If you try to update the driver from AMD, AMD, be sure to do so only with the card on and not off AMD. If turned off switchable graphics, AMD map will not be displayed and the Intel card having for result the error you received.

On a side note, AMD recommends sticking with the drivers from the manufacturer of the laptop.

Hello. I need a help or instructions of my situation. I have a problem, look for the switchable graphics options for my laptop. The original operating system of this is Windows 8 64-bit. I changed my operating system in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. After you have installed the necessary drivers for my laptop, I noticed that the switchable graphics options configure is missing, even the AMD Catalyst Control Center. I installed two drivers properly after installation of Windows 7, but AMD graphics options is missing. I tried to update my driver AMD by installing the latest driver, subsequently software Catalyst through the utility of automatic detection, but after installation, my laptop screen became large, and the option "Configure Switchable Graphics", said that the driver I have installed is not compatible with my laptop. I opened the system restore back to a point where I have not installed yet. I'm not sure if I should install the AMD driver that I found here in the HP drivers. If anyone knows how I can reinstall the driver of my need of system, I would be grateful.

    Hello:

Because your laptop is the switchable graphics, the driver only graphics that you can use is the HP one.

I don't think that HP has linked the AMD/Intel switchable graphics driver to the correct address to the care of your laptop and driver page.

Uninstall the graphic drivers you have already installed and restart... but instead, try this one g6t-2000.

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

There is no fixed graphics mode in your model.

  • Switchable graphics using Windows Update update

    Good evening

This may be a very stupid question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere else.

I have a HP Envy-m6 with switchable graphics, with the usual of an Intel HD 4000 combination and an AMD Radeon HD 7600M graphics card.

When I bought the laptop and did not realize he had switchable graphics, I made the mistake of updating the drivers for one of these cards through the manufacturer sites, bringing all to go haywire. I finally managed to restore it and I was told that the only way in which you can update these drivers is via the software driver on the HP website offerend (or perhap use HP Support Assistant).

However, only today, Windows Update indicated that there were updates for pilots of the AMD and Intel. My question is simple: can I update the two drivers through Windows Update, or it will cause switchable graphics break?

If I can't use Windows Update to update these drivers, HP will come out a combined driver package that integrates these new drivers on the Support Web site at some point?

Apologies if these questions are obivous, but I couldn't easily find the answer elsewhere, and I would rather have to re-install my drivers from scratch once again.

    Hi Tio_Holzman,

Updates Windows checks the site of the manufacturer for updated drivers.  I recommend that you use the HP drivers, HP may have modified them for your exact system.  As you said when you install the drivers from the manufacture website, they do not always perform as you want and this is why.

The HP Support Assistant check the HP site for the current drivers for you exact model.

Pilots will be published or updated at the discretion of HP.

I hope that this has answered your questions.

    What is the problem?
What BIOS is right for my system?

    Please help me!
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

It seems that the OS Vista was preinstalled on this laptop.
This means that you have installed the Windows 7 system to your own hand.

The point is that BIOS update requires a few essential tools of Toshiba.
For example, the package of value added is an important software package and must be preinstalled on the laptop.

    VAP is installed?
If this isn't the case, install the PPV before trying to update the BIOS.

  • HP Officejet J3600 Series for Windows 7 device driver

I can't get my printer to work!  I installed different versions of the software, and every time I said that there is not a driver that exists for the HP Officejet J3600 series.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I uninstalled the software several times, and I tried to install with Microsoft plug-and-play decisions.  I went from the other way and I asked HP what is desired and installed from their point of view.
I've just updated my Windows Vista computer to Windows 7.  There is a significant update of Windows Update that tries to install, but it fails every time.  This update is HP - printers - HP Officejet J3600 series 63.9 MB and it was published on 02/07/2011, but it gives me "Code 800F0246 Windows Update encountered an unknown error".  I found that the print spooler was not, which allegedly allowed other printers at work, but not my HP Officejet J3680.
    Thank you in advance,
    Bryan

    Palcouk,

Thank you for your help in this matter!
Yes, I did contact the PC manufacturer and the hardware manufacturers of printer support site for the software, both are HP.  I also tried to install the basic printer driver as the complete software, but neither attack could solve the problem.  These efforts included a complete removal of the software from my system, reboot and all.  I tried plugging in is not the printer until you are instructed to do and I also tried to connect the printer, using the plug-n-play in order to have the windows to find the correct drivers, but no attempt would not work.  These are good ideas!
The solution ends up being a deletion of the printer driver for another printer that has already been installed when I was with Vista.  This driver is not compatible with Windows 7 and was originally the 'print spooler' to stop and cause other installation failure.
Technical support at the University said that they eventually remove the other printers on the computer system;  then restart the print spooler by clicking the Start button, the search for 'Services', the program opens, scrolling to "Print spooler", selecting and clicking on "start the service"; and then install the software of the printer as usual.  The printer works fine now!  Yay!
PS You are absolutely right about the existence of a difference between important and recommended updates.  When I got my printer connected to the computer and I tried to update by using windows update, I think he said it was an optional update, but when the printer was not connected, the update did not show.  I think you're right, it was only a recommended update.  Thank you for this fix!
P.P.S.  I'm sorry, I can see how you might have thought that he wasn't no matter what printer driver.  There was, I think, 5 drivers for the printer that were to be installed.  Four installed without any problem (I think they were to scan, fax, USB printers and one another, but that of the HP Officejet J3600 series did not and he said that he was not a pilot that exists for installation).  After the correction of the University, it is installed without any hitch.
I hope this helps those of you who may have similar problems!
    Sincerely and gratefully.

  • 550-142d Pavilion: the change of graphics card BIOS update

    Hello

I have a Pavilliion 550 - 142d I want to update to provide a better gaming experience. The map pre-installed in the Pavilion is 730 GT that does not happen at the end of game.

The graphics card, I intend to buy is the GTX950 or GTX 1060.

I did the necessary research on upgrading the graphics card.  But I discovered only recently that I need update the BIOS when changing the GPU.

What are the precautions or steps I have to take in what concerns the updated BIOS to support the new graphics card?

I just finished replacing my PSU 550w successfully today. The only problem I encountered was that I didn't have a slim-SATA to power the built-in DVD player. I intend to get an adapter SATA slim finally.

I will proceed to the graphics card vendor soon, please advise me on the supported BIOS I knew HP has an integrated program to monitor and update a driver accordingly. As such, I worry if the GPU card support is in place. Currently, I don't have any other NVIDIA program installed to update the GPU card.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Thank you for your concerns.

I raised my BIOS to version A0.13 (Dec 2015) and the latest version is A0.16 (August 2016).

I need to update the BIOS before or after changing the component?

As I predicted to change the GPU, my only question is if I have a correct display of the monitor if I were to run the update after the upgrade. Please notify.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi all

Really hoping someone can help me with this.

My old HDD not was not so I cloned the entire disc before it failed. -Just in time, too.

    I ordered a new drive - it's a WD scorpio black - Advanced format.

Unfortunately I can't get my picture on this new album.

Also, I am unable to do a reinstall with the original restore also cd because it doesn't have service pack 1 and that means that it can't recognize the HD.

In any case id prefer to be able to restore my image and not make a re-install when even if possible.

    So my question is this:

Y at - it an update of the bios I can ask my another pc version 2.00 is available which will include options to change the options of ide drive - ahci?

It's the only solution I can think of-bearing in mind I do not have an operating system installed, so the alignment tools are not an option as another fix. -Fast technology of storage Intel drivers do not work, because I have an AMD athlon processor.

So is there any BIOS I can Flash my computer with to activate the options mentioned?

I have a method to Flash the bios with a BONE, so this isn't a problem.

Also other suggestions for workaround on this more than welcome.

    Thanks :))

    The_red_pill.

    Hello

Update BIOS don t help you. To my knowledge, it does not add additional options such as a switch between AHCI and compatible mode.
In addition, you can use ANY BIOS. You must use the BIOS that came out for the model of laptop. But as I said, this isn't a solution.

In addition, the image of Toshiba already contains all the drivers in order to install the system. It s any SP1 isn t the image part.

I guess you're talking about Vista OS, given that the laptop came with pre-installed Vista OS. http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/discontinued-products/Equium-A210-17I/

I recommend you format the HARD drive first.
Use a tool called Gparted. You can create a bootable USB key containing this tool.
This allows to start Notepad in order to format the HARD drive.

  • Switchable Graphics and ATI Graphics Driver disappear (BIOS update)

Then the other day, that HP has insisted on the behaviour of one of its annoying BIOS updates on my Pavilion dv7.

Before the update, I was able switchable graphics and could pass the ATI Mobility Radeon 4250 something the 5650 (I'm sure I have these numbers). in any case, now, a few days after the update (which I believe I installed on 19 January), I noticed that my switchable graphics options have disappeared, as well as my option driver ATI Mobility Radeon 5650... large. So now games graphics look significantly bad and slow because I can't spend to the best driver. Thanks, HP.

So, the question is how to get back my switchable graphics and other driver? I was looking around and found some - related posts that can be useful for people who seek to answer this question, but aren't really help me:

If you answer this, please try to keep it in easy English and avoid a lot of abbreviations, I won't understand. Just consider me like a fool when it comes to installing and uninstalling the drivers and try to make simple instructions. Thank you very much!

Hey man, idk if you are still working on it, but I have the solution.  Basically, HP has two updates for each laptop model; one for laptops with integrated graphics card only and another for laptops with switchable graphics.  Unfortunately, the driver for laptop with integrated graphics card only has been the default driver in this update.  Instead of trying to reinstall the older driver, just install the new correct driver.  To do this, follow these steps:

    1. go on http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

    2. the website can automatically detect what dv7 you have.  Just click on the button "start detection".  It will ask you to download something, but its ok.  Do it.  Then just click on 'continue' and let it detect your system.

    3. There should be a screen that has 'Detected list of products' on him.  Under where it is said that your model is, there must be a link that says "software and driver downloads".  Until it clicks.

    4. in the next screen, you will need to choose your operating system.  Select it and click "next".

    5. a list appears with all the drivers for different systems.  Expand the category that says 'pilot -"graphic  There will be several drivers (one being that shitty laptop with integrated graphics card only and another for great laptops with switchable graphics).  Read the descriptions of each and it is made for laptops with switchable graphics.  Download the right one.

Once download you, you will need to restart your laptop.  When it starts up, it will be like new.

    Hello:

There is no graphics card AMD switchable for my model, even with a BIOS update.  That is right.

Or is it still be grayed out as in the current state.  That is right. An update of the BIOS will do nothing to allow you to change the graphic memory settings.  Everything will be grayed out as before.

So if I overload a game settings, from the middle to the extreme, this means that most of the 3 GB memory graphics will be allocated to catch the game? Or even will not use the 737 MB dedicated?   The laptop will initially use all the dedicated memory.  If that wasn't enough, he will then consume the maximum (2.4 GB) memory system available and put it to the chart.

  • No option switchable graphics after updating of the CCC to 13.101

    The version on my computer:

Product name: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

    Product number: QJ916AV

    Graphics card: Radeon 6770 m

Yesterday, I saw a forum that says updating your graphics card can solve the problems of far cry 3, so I updated my graphics card with the amd catalyst driver beta 13.

He basically updated my CCC to the latest version and also my graphics driver in Device Manager it turned Radeon 6770 m to radeon series 6700 m.

I'm not sure if my graphics card is actually changed, because this update is not directly from hp and so far it is not availible.

After the update, the CCC, I can no longer configure switchable graphics in my laptop. I want to downgrade my CCC driver and graphics to the original. I know that system restore will not work. should I uninstall AMD and then reinstall it from thishttp://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-105178-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...

    package?

If I should, y at - it a tutorial for uninstall safely, I don't want to spoil it!

NVM, you simply uninstall and reinstall, without other stuff need to worry

  • Satellite Pro R850-10V - switchable graphics ATI 6450 M / Intel HD3000

Unfortunately, right now the R series does not offer a switchable graphic option between the integrated graphics chipset (Intel HD Graphics 3000) and him dedicated ATI 6450 M.

I have a model R850-10V with an i5 - 2410M and there is no option in the BIOS to such a choice, who would help a lot to increase the autonomy of the battery using only the onboard graphics for example.
Could see us in the future upgrade of bios that would allow this integrated graphics?

It's a shame, because all other important producers (HP, Lenovo, Acer) who use ATI 6450/6470/6490 M graphics integrated solution, updated their bios to allow a switchable graphics option.

    Thank you.

    > Could see us in the future upgrade of bios that would allow this integrated graphics?
Very good question, but on the wrong place. This is the forum user and you will not get an official statement here.

Let's see if Toshiba is going to change anything, and perhaps offer some update BIOS.

  • Pavilion g6t-2000 CTO: switchable graphics in Pavilion g6

I bought this phone two or three years ago, but didn't notice this problem until a year ago. This is because I did not know what as switchable graphics were and supposed worked the map I spent an extra $ 100 for. I'm unable to use the AMD m7076HD graphic card at all. Instead I am forced to use the 4000HD Intel integrated for gaming, which is far from ideal. When I start the computer I get an error message saying that I don't have the dirvers for AMD when I left click on the desktop there is no option to configure switchable graphics, when I try to start CCC it gives me an error message saying that there are no settings to configure, when I try to change the graphic properties it only shows me that the Intel chip When I look into the setting graphic video games there is only the chip intel, and in the bios there is no fixed and switchable settings. The only way that I know that I have and AMD card in the computer is the Device Manager say. So far, I have tried several times to update the drivers for the cards and the bios of HP and just leshcat cards, repeaditly. I also took to geek team once, but the most they could do was to get CCC to open. With GTA 5 on I really want the issue to be fixed. Is there anything else I can do? I've scoured the web last year and found no other soloutions for my specific problem. If there's really nothing else I can do myself, where should I consider truly fixed. From what I've read, it seems that many other people had this problem and it never solved. I'm done with this computer and HP, I need answers quickly, or I'll just cut my losses and buy a new laptop from a brand that will sell me fully functional. Let me know if you need more info.

    Hi there @supersadness

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that you have had problems with switchable graphics on your laptop. I'm happy to help you with this.

First, you talk to install several drivers for this, but in reality, if you have switchable graphics, you need just the driver on the HP site, which contains the drivers for the AMD and Intel for a switchable configuration.

Please read the following for more information on how it works.

Computers laptops HP - overview of switchable graphics or dual GPU

HP - Switchable Graphics on laptops laptops configured with Intel and ATI GPU

This should be the only driver, you must install for switchable graphics features. It will start to download on your download folder by default once you click on the link. You will then need to run to start the installation. However I would recommend uninstall video driver previous first, then by restarting and then installing this driver.

AMD graphics driver high definition (HD)

Also, here is the description of the functionality from the download page:

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

Let me know if it helps.
