  • Satellite A100 PSAAR: Synaptics touchpad not working not not on Vista Ultimate x 64

I decided to upgrade my XP 32 bit Vista x 64 Ultimate on my PSAAR A100.
Operating system works perfectly except one thing - touchpad, which work perfectly under XP, is not answer at all under Vista x 64 (with SP1 of course).

Worse, it's that my touchpad (Synaptics) is listed in as a work Device Manager correctly. Hmm - I don't remember. Meet your possible suggestions - I tried to reinstall, I tried to use the A200 drivers (since Toshiba does not support drivers for Vista x 64 for line A100) and even had the newer drivers from the Synaptics site. Update Vista even me has new drivers - cool, I admit, but it still does not work, even if Windows does not seem to "know" about any help would be very appreciated :) it...

Problem is that this model of laptop is not supported for Vista 64-bit. I don't really know what you can try. Maybe install driver designed for A300?

I don't really know. You can use an external mouse with success?

  • 7 caused synaptics touchpad not working Windows Update

    Hello

I ran the windows 7 updates from last night on my laptop HP G62-373DX.  When I started my computer touchpad not working.  I went into Device Manager & it is said that the touch pad is damaged or missing.  In addition my Kaspersky anti-virus is also disabled now.  I tried to reset the device and also made a system restore back to before I was running updates.  Neither work.

    Any suggestions?

After talking with support for some time, they suggested I run a recovery, but I could not do this without a mouse (tab would not work to get me through the options).  I don't have a mouse so I thought I'd like to borrow a & then get back in touch with technical support.  In the meantime, I decided to try & get my anti-virus online.  Not sure if this is what fixed it or what, but after I downloaded the update for my anti-virus my touchpad started working again.  Perhaps, that was blocking the installation of the new driver?  Who knows, it works fine now so fingers crossed I don't have any problems more.

  • Synaptics Touchpad not working not but only for log-in

I had a little accident with my registry and lost a few settings. This may, or may not, be associated with the following question.

On my laptop, the touch-pad works fine until I log in to my user account (admin). As soon as I do this, the touchpad stops at this work and the only way I can move the cursor with a plug in mouse. If I connect to this particular account, the touch-pad starts working again. I can connect to a different user account and the touch-pad still works. It's only one account that is affected. Any suggestions where to start looking for the problem?

    Hello

Thank you for reaching out to us to Microsoft Community.

As you mentioned, that the problem is specific to a user account, this can happen if the user profile is damaged. To solve the problem, I would ask to create a new user profile and then copy the data from the old damaged to the new profile.

Your user profile is a collection of settings that make the computer look and work the way you want. It contains your settings for wallpapers, screensavers, wallpapers, pointer preferences, settings of the sound and other features. User profiles ensure that your personal preferences are used whenever you log on to Windows.

To create a new user profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile is also created.

For more information on creating a user and then profile by copying the contents of the old user profile to the new, please check the steps described in the help provided below Microsoft Article.

    Hi @badams182

Welcome to the HP support community. I saw your post about the problems with the touchpad. At this point based on the troubleshooting you have already tried, it's either a hardware issue or the TouchPad is disabled. There are two ways to allow first and foremost on the TouchPad itself if you notice a light on in the upper left corner, tap twice on the upper left corner. The light indicates the TouchPad has been disabled. You can also try activating by using this document from HP for help and the configuration of the touchpad there is a section disable TouchPad simply follow the instructions to enable it.

If none of these methods work, give us a call for a repair. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or Start here if you live outside of North America.

  • My on my Netbook of LT40 Gateway Synaptics touchpad stopped working.

The Device Manager in the Control Panel indicates that it works correctly and I have reinstalled/updated the software of several types, complete with reboots.  The touchpad is still unresponsive to any entry.  How to run again?

You've probably already tried this, but have you pressed F6- key to activate / disable the touchpad? You can press F6 accidentally disable the touchpad.

Just in case you were not aware of the F6 key, I found information in your NetBook available Quick Start Guide on the next page:

    Gateway - my support
     https://support.gateway.com/product/default.aspx?modelId=4043

Once on the page above, you will need to click on the tab of User Guides to see the link for the Quick Start Guide. The F6 is one of the special keys.

  • Satellite A100: Where to get a Synaptics touchpad driver for Vista?

    Hello

I just upgraded from Windows XP Home SP2 for Windows Vista Ultimate on my Toshiba Satellite A100.
I was wondering where I could download a driver for Synaptics touchpad that works?

I tried the generic drivers from the Synaptics Web site, but they do not completely install it (the second component still fails to install).
Then I tried those Toshiba Web site, but the Vista compatibility messages show an error that says error code "# 5 b 4 @10.

Then I tried the drivers compatible with Windows XP, and they work perfectly, except for the fact that I can not configure advanced features like virtual scrolling and tap zones.
I click the icon in the status bar, click the device settings tab, and every time I click the button nothing happens.

    Any help?

    Hello

Usually the driver from the Toshiba page should be quite valid and works.
Please note that there are different series A100 and if you download drivers, don't forget that you choose the correct drivers for the series on the right laptop.

Have you checked if the touchpad settings can be defined and modified in the control panel?
As far as I know that the touchpad properties can be set in the mouse option that is located in the Panel!

On the device settings tab you should the synaptics touchpad and click settings.
New window will open and you will find many options that control the touchpad settings!

    Good bye

    AFAQ

    Hi Afaq,

First, download the latest installer driver Synaptics, on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp52001-52500/sp52352.exe

Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

When windows loaded again, you should now configure options such as scrolling etc. - see the guide on the link below for more details.

    Configure the ClickPad.

    Kind regards

  • My synaptics touchpad will not work

My synaptics touchpad does not work I uninstalled and did everything in the control panel but I don't know what to do.

    Please help me.

    How to operate?

    Hello

First, it would really help to know something more on the model of the laptop, installed windows OS, etc.

Have you tried to activate the touchpad through Fn + F9?

  • Satellite L955 - 10K - Synaptics Touchpad Driver is not working properly

    Hello, ASRR here.

I had a problem with my driver for the Synaptics touchpad yesterday. I'm very used to use the "gestures" to work with my touchpad and the gestures did not work properly (in fact at all) for a while. Scrolling with two fingers, three fingers touch and others (in fact all the gestures) no longer work.

The cursor moves, and works fine but not gestures.

When I go to mouse option in the Control Panel, a window appears indicating that the PC is "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver." and asks me if I want to uninstall.

I have tried to uninstall, and then go on to Toshiba support page and download a driver that has been adapted for my model, operating system, etc..

When I implemented the driver I downloaded and restart the PC, the same window appears when I try to go in mouse options in Control Panel and gestures don't work.

An interesting thing I noticed though, is the fact that when I back the driver (in the settings to properties then Hardware) gestures do FINE. However, as he always asks you to restart the computer for Rolling back the driver will take place, when I restart it, it defines the Microsoft 2006 touchpad driver. who does not understand the gestures that I need.

I tried several times to fix it, but I can't. I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.

I really don't know what to do. Could someone please help?

My Toshiba model is a Satellite L-955-10 K with a 64-bit processor and system of operating Windows 8 initially installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    > I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.
How to understand this? Have you tried to put your laptop to factory settings?
To be honest I don't understand what the problem is here. I also thought that the new driver installation can help but obviously it didn't help much.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but you can set laptop to factory again and I hope that everything will work properly again. Before doing this test also to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore option.

One last thing: it has nothing to do with your touchpad problem, but I recommend you create a recovery (recovery backup image) using pre-installed recovery media creator media.

  • Synaptics touchpad is not working properly on the Satellite A100-635

My synaptics touchpad is not working properly my mouse works very well but does not work in every corner of the touchpad for special functions.

I tried to set it up again but it had no result, also I downloaded a new driver, but it had no results to. My buttons multimedia keys like play/pause or stop are not no longer works.

These buttons/keys stopped working at the same time as the touchpad. Checked with NOD 32 pro virus and spyware with ZA pro ==> no results.

Who can help me with this problem?

    Hi Jarno

Do you know how many different Satellite notebooks have a series? Drivers and tools are not the same for each of them. Because of this you should also tell us that you have.

According to your description, I can tell you: install OS using support and recovery delivered with factory settings, your mobile phone must be configured correctly.

  • Synaptics touchpad two fingers scrolling does not work in the player to develop modern UI application Windows 8.1

I have a HP Envy TouchSmart UltraBook 4-1161er. Two fingers to scroll worked well in all modern user interface applications that come with the pre-installed operating system Windows 8.1, but the situation changed after the upgrade to Windows 8.1. Now this excellent and very useful two fingers scrolling does not work in the updated reader application. How to make it work?

If the problem is in the drivers, maybe, install the drivers the latest may correct this?

I tried to find the latest drivers for the touchpad Synptics in my ultrabook on the HP website, but it's the same old v16.5.3.3, I already have (published in may 2013). Synatics official site contains a link to the latest touchpad driver pack v17.0.19. Can I install it?

I would try to install the Windows 8.1 (64-bit) driver Synaptics touchpad available in the download section of your sleekbook web support before using compatibility mode.  If the current driver does not work for you, try the earlier versions available .

If you have no positive results, then use the compatibility mode (select Windows 8) on all three Windows 8.1 synaptics touchpad drivers, starting with the most recent.

To use compatibility mode to install the driver just softpaq to the right, click on the file and choose troubleshoot compatibility. Select Windows 8 and run the installer.
