Sync iTunes Playlists between Macs

Well, if Google knows anything, then this question is moot. I searched for hours for a way to do this (see section).

Can someone lie to Google? I want to run my iTunes with 2 computers - and here County, favorites, playlists, etc., are the same on both computers.

Computers are at El Cap, two iTunes are up-to-date, and iTunes is on a NAS.

Any help or thoughts appreciated.

You probably know, but you will need to put in place a process to sync between two computers

Someone could probably help you with a script that is triggered by a change + x minutes and synchronizes the files updated with the files on the other computer

Don't know how easy it is it is - without doubt OGELTHORPE or Grant Bennet-Alder or Linc Davis

  • Syncing iTunes between Apple devices without iCloud

    Hello

I want to synchronize my iTunes between my Mac and my Macbook Air library.  I tried to connect via a cable Thunderbolt, but the icon does not appear in iTunes.  I believe to sync iTunes via iCloud, you pay a monthly subscription.  Is this correct?  Is the only way to do this via a USB port to a USB cable between the two devices?

I use an old computer, but I don't think that file sharing can be done simply with USB or Tuunderbolt.  It can be done by using file sharing which is set up in system preferences.  Yet, I don't know that it is the ultimate solution for your desired result, particularly if you want to "sync" to your library. For iTunes on computers, there is not this function as another "synchronization" by ensuring that you have personally copied all the files from one to the other so that they are identical on both computers, or by using a common repository and only run iTunes on one computer at a time.  There are too many possibilities to list them all here, so it would be useful to have the exact details of you what you want to do (not that we can guarantee it won't be possible).  Oh, Yes, the official solution from Apple would use iCloud. Even in this case, it is not perfect sync as far as computers are concerned.  Corresponding has an annual subscription.

  • How to stop applications to sync on my iPhone when I sync my music from iTunes on my Mac to my iPhone?

How can I stop all applications that are in my iTunes to sync on my iPhone while I'm syncing my music from my iTunes on my Mac to my iPhone? He doesn't have a checkbox in the Apps section for not having ALL these apps to go back on my iPhone. Help! Now should I remove each app individually out of my iPhone?

    Hi there deg20,

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support! Looks like all the applications listed in iTunes to sync your iPhone while you move your music. I can understand wanting to be able to customize the content that is on your device. I'll be more than happy to help!

From what you describe, appears it option "automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" to be enabled. To activate which turns off, select the Summary tab and uncheck the box next to this feature. Once you have done this, you should be able to navigate between sections of content / media specific to choose what you want to synchronize with your device. After you apply these changes, it should appear on your iPhone. See the following article for advice on the content of sync on your iPhone:

Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer through a USB port

You should also ensure that you have enabled the option to manually manage content, as described in this article:

Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer through a USB port

If you don't manually add or remove content from your device

Check the option "Manually manage music and videos" is turned on:

    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. Open iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version.
    3. Locate and click on your device.
    4. In the left sidebar, click summary.
    5. Scroll down to the Options section.
    6. Check the "Manually manage music and videos."
    7. Click on apply.

You might see a message that your device is synchronized with another library. This means that you used another computer to sync your device in the past, and iTunes cannot sync without erasing first and replace everything iTunes on your device.

    Relax your day fantastic!

In other words, if I added a song to a playlist on a Mac, it's then replicate to the other two. Or when I created a new playlist on a mac, it is added as a playlist on the other. Thanks for any advice.

My 'primary' Mac has a local copy of all my songs in the iTunes music library, which is reproduced in iCloud via iTunes game.  I have an old Mac connected to my HDTV system and music, in the living room.  Access the old Mac my iCloud (including playlists) music library; It has all the songs stored locally.  I also access my library of music iCloud on my iPhone and iPod touch.  Songs can be downloaded or streamed.  Changes to the library of music on a computer related or peripheral are reflected on the other.

  • How can I sync my email between my mac and my iPad

I'm a Road Runner e-mail account and use Outlook on Mac.  I also have an iPad 2 Air which I just bought.  Is it possible to sync my email between my mac and my iPad?  I wish I could use my Mac or my iPad to check my email and store messages in my files.  I currently can't do this on my Mac, I don't know how to synchronize between both devices.  Did I ask for possible?

If the e-mail account can be configured as IMAP, you can add the account for both devices and they will keep in sync.

  • Impossible to permanently delete iTunes Playlist

I seem to have a playlist iTunes ghost on my iPhone 5s that I can't seem to permanently delete.

You can see the contents of the playlist in the image below. I can select each song and remove them, but they come back after I have sync the iPhone with iTunes on my Mac mini.

I'm sure I'm wrong, but is there a way to permanently delete this playlist on my iPhone? Thanks in advance!

TT2 is the iTunes of real experts around here, so hopefully it will chime.

In the meantime, I guess that you delete the playlist in iTunes. Is this correct? I also see that the songs have the dreaded punctuated by circles next to them. Which is never a good thing, I know. I read that if you unsync your music and delete this and then Resync, these circles go away and the music should appear on the device again. Then you should be able to remove them properly.

I will admit that I am no expert on iTunes, but I know that dotted circles are not good.

    Hi zronw!

Thank you to use the community of Apple support about this where the selection is not appear after you try to synchronize your MacBook Pro.  You certainly did a few good troubleshooting far steps.  I'd be the same way and would like my music appears on my iPhone right after I tried to sync it.  No worries, we have some other measures to do so that it will properly syncs.

The first thing we want to look at is to make sure that your MacBook Pro is up to date since the last version is 10.11.5.  To do this, follow the steps described in this article:

OS X El Capitan: keep your Mac up-to-date

If she is not always sync correctly after that, we would like to reinstall iTunes on your MacBook Pro.  Do this step will do nothing with your iTunes library and you do not need to remove the version of iTunes is always there.  All you need to do is to make sure iTunes is closed, then go to this link to download and install iTunes:

    Download iTunes

After that, open iTunes, plug in your iPhone and it should allow you to sync your playlists as usual now.

    Have a great day!

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of using iCloud drive (or other Cloud services) compared with iTunes game against external hard drive, Solid State etc. to store my songs iTunes, playlists, ratings etc?

First question: what are the advantages and disadvantages of using iCloud drive (or other Cloud services) compared with iTunes Match against Solid State external hard drive etc to store my songs iTunes, playlists, ratings etc?

Please let me know what are the alternatives for storage of my songs, playlists, song etc. other than iTunes game ratings ($ 24.99 / year)?  Is there a way to store all my songs with my song ratings, playlists, etc. with a CD song quality? Most of my (currently 130 GB) songs on my computer are CD quality that I prefer to keep as well as my notes of each song (i.e. 5 * vs. 4 * etc.), playlists, groups (music, classical, popular, country etc.).  What are the advantages and disadvantages to store my iTunes songs while CD quality with my personal notes, reading lists, groupings in the cloud?  ICloud of Apple Drive ($ 2.99 per month or $36 / year for 200 GB) would be the best way to automatically update and maintain my rankings iTunes personal including the future editions of the song etc or using Amazon, IBM, Microsoft etc cloud or an external hard drive SSD would work as well and maybe cheaper?  I currently have my iTunes on a PC of 2007 with vista (I use a 1 8T Western Digital external upward by car for my personal info all over HP, songs, photos etc. which is currently close to 170 GB) but also have an Apple i-phone 6 & I Air cushion.  Although I did not need to have all of my music with all their sides, etc. available on all of my devices at all times as iTunes game, I still would have easy access to information on both my PC and my iPhone or iPad?  Thank you.

    In my opinion?

I back up my data to an external drive for several reasons.  The first is my data - if I put on the cloud, someone else has control over it, they can see what I have and change the preferences to what they see of marketing.

Almost as important as that - if I had to rely on the cloud whenever I wanted to update my playlists on my phone, I need a better internet connection I have now (working at sea).  To get the best out of the cloud, you need a solid link to home, work or mobile.

As a spin-off - I hate the fact that Apple take away a feature in their software updates and then allow an app to be sold in their store to replace this feature - or worse still, some features that were available before the updates are now "cloud only."  And Yes - you have to pay for the cloud.  I like most of the people do not appreciate the 'accomplished fact. "

From the back of the external hard drive ASI downside, is that to be safe, you need to store outside in a separate computer place.  If keep you them together, if one is lost, probably, they are both.  That is to say for me a full backup before you travel, then a new upward as soon as I go home.  Downside is how much data may be lost between the two back ups if I needed to restore.  For me, its worth the risk.  If I was away and say had bought a ton of new music and couldn't go home anytime soon, I can always head to the store and buy a new external drive, they are massively expensive.  Even if my computer has to go for repair and my remote is to halfway around the world - I want to buy a new one.

Now, some will say that once you buy a new external, you spend more than you would on a cloud subscription.  It's true, but in the 6 years following the purchase of Mac that I've only had to buy a new external once - so with a little luck and planning - it works.

I left took well - I am not a subscriber of cloud, nor do I want to be.
