Sync Outlook blackBerry Smartphones issue: sync Bennett tells me to remove 300 + entries in Outlook

Hi all

With my wife, we had 2-BB Curve 8520 and we are now trying to synchronize both of them with our Outlook 2003 SP3 on XP SP3. Both do the same thing:

1 / first synchronization goes well, BB calendar is full,.

2 / all syncs well for a few days.

3 / one day synchronization said us it will remove 3000 + items on Outlook, of course I click on reject and cancel synchronization,

4 / I reboot OK by one-dir tp BB Outlook synchronization.

5 / a few days later, he returned to step 3 and behaves badly again.

I can't get any lasting solution, the only thing I got is a workaround that lasts only a few days.

Our version of BB (mine / my wife):

-Platform: 4.2.0.118 / 4.2.0.135

-Application: 4.6.1.274 / 4.6.1.314

Thank you in advance to all those who would give us an indication!

Hi, bifocals

Thanks a lot, seems the entry 'BlackBerry Desktop Manager wants to remove the old entries for the Microsoft Outlook calendar' is the solution! In fact I don't even think that the BB can have a default setting of delete items 60 + days. Could be initially to welcome old, low-mem models and remained that way.

I'll test it 2-3 days and if everything is OK, I will mark it as resolved.

Cool!
I'm glad that you fixed it.

In your case, I think that your best tool besides the others will be the transfer of date range option when you configure calendar synchronization. I put mine 5 years each way. !

Please solve the thread so that others can find your answer faster.
Thank you

  • BlackBerry smartphones issues with BB Pearl 8100 on T-Mobile

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100, my father gave me, on support for T-Moble. There seem to be some quirks:

    1. It says that I have two missed calls (or more) at all times. He stil increments when I miss a call, and when I discovered the call log, 2 are given the number if it was higher, but otherwise he doesn't have a 2.
    2. Where I live, T-Mobile does not reach then I'm roaming on a local carrier, Corr Wireless. Why can't I set up email on my device. I can go to a city where T-Mobile reached, but I keep forgetting to try to set up roaming are not. Is there a way to get around this or should I just put in place in the city? And as a side note, it'll work on homelessness when it is implemented?
    3. The trackball seems not working not just all the time, and in fact it often will record a 'up' when I try to scroll down, while it won't save a 'down' when trying to scroll to the top. This problem comes and goes, but when it is at its worst, I can't scroll down at all without using the shortcut keys (which don't always work in a given application). If this can be a software issue or firmware, or is usually strictly a question of mechanism of sale? In addition, left and right are generally not affected. Also, which may or may not be related, but the click does not always work, I have to use the Enter key in the place (or what I can do what clicking would do otherwise). By clicking on I mean by pushing on the trackball, it does not seem to register.

Well, it's a moot point now. I took the trackball mechanism and the ring of restraint and put them in a BB 8320 that I have which worked fine except that the trackball did not work well and the retaining ring has been broken. BB curve has more features than the BB Pearl, at least in this case, so I'll stick with that.

Is there some sort of routine at the level of the developer which allows to determine all routines running or trying to send or receive at any given time?  I think there will be something similar to Windoze Task Manager, but no indication in the User Guide.  Thank you!

    Hello!

Please come back and continue the same thread - that helps more than you know!

It's interesting... I have no experience with the app as you describe, it is supposed to work such as documented in the KB. I hate to be dense, but I can't say your words - have - you just go to MyWorld or you really you connect once you got there? You must connect so that you can see the apps that you paid dedicated... just going to MyWorld shows (I think) the free apps you have installed. Here are the instructions just in case:

    http://docs.BlackBerry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/7268/re-install_an_item_on_a_different_d...

If you already have and it does not appear, then I suggest a number of things...

    (1) contact the developer of the app - see if they have your purchase and can validate somehow they sent the key in AppWorld correctly. If they can simply provide you with the key, then even better!

    (2) if they can provide you with information that the key was successfully sent to AppWorld (but do not provide you with it), so we ask you to open a ticket in the following way:

    Go to this address:
    https://www.BlackBerry.com/CSOHelp/index.do?ft=generic

and complete the form. Use, in the "Please select a component:"on the ground, AppWorld billing/payment selection. " Some problems with this site relate not to validate the pins correctly (he denies me, for example!). The alternative that we have so far received must then use the AppWorld - General selection on this same form.

If this does not work, then please let us know here and we'll see what we can do.

    See you soon!

Well, there must be some third party application you got installed with a notification.

    WhatsApp, Kik?

If you have an icon of wandering answering MACHINE waiting on your home screen:
Dial your voicemail and clear the message.
    * You can call your BB from another and leave a message. You BB, call your voicemail and clear and delete your messages.
    * If the above fails, pull your battery to reset and restart your BlackBerry.

Since I update OS 7.1 on my Bold 9790 SMS more than 1 months are deleted automatically. This is despite the validity period of the SMS on "Max". How can I stop this?

Home screen > menu > switch application

This should open the application "Messages".
menu > options > General options
There should be an option called 'Keep the Messages' with multiple values: 15 days, 30 days, up to 6 months and forever.

It differs from the "period of validity of the SMS.

  • BlackBerry smartphones is this a problem with my Bold 9700 flash memory?

A few annoying problems recently with my Bold 9700.

First, my Blackberry has suddenly started to massively delete recent appointments in my calendar, which will attempt to remove them from my Outlook calendar when I synchronize the device to my laptop.  This has not happened before, and I checked to make sure that the schedule is set to never delete nominations, and it is set correctly.

Second, my Blackberry App World application (both on the device and online) does not display one of my installed applications, except one, but they are all still on the device and working properly.  I'm 18 apps installed from BB App World, beyond the pre-installed applications on the device, which are less than 10 MB in total size.

The reason I think that the problem could be linked to the internal flash memory is that whenever I want to install an application, I usually get a message indicating there is enough memory and I have to uninstall some other applications to free up space.  When I checked my memory earlier, he said that had less than 1 MB.  I restarted the machine and now it tells me there is 12.2 MB of available space, which always seems incredibly low for me since I installed only about 10 MB of my own applications.  So, I delete the file all attachments of the device and do not keep e-mail on the device beyond 30 days, and all media is stored on flash cards, not in the device memory.

The most important question I have to solve is how to prevent the device to delete data from calendar (it keeps recurring appointments, but has been deleted and everything before about two weeks ago).

    Hello

It's an automatic protection mechanism with BBs. During the AppMemory (not the device, no media memory card memory) get low, the BB must start deleting things to preserve its ability to operate. Unfortunately, he really can't go after data... it can't really go after installed applications. Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
      • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB10183 E-mail messages are removed from the BlackBerry device until the messages expire

In addition, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

Now, AppMemory is not just for the apps... the real BB operating system is here as well. Depending on the options you have included, which might be things bloating as well.

    Good luck!

I have two own phones a Samsung S5 and BB 9780, please help me to unlock the network.

    Kind regards

OK, so you need to start with is the following:

    • Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

The steps of the WIPE removes prevention device-lock password and return the unit to (almost) a State of "new factory". If the device is locked by password, then you just keep trying until exhaust you all attempts, how much the device will perform the WIPE to remove this password.

Be aware, however, that it didn't is not held here which may have to be performed by the actual owner of the disk... for example, the former carrier may refuse your request to release the BB ANKLE of their BIS system so that you can have your door - create an account BIS for the device. You are not the owner of the disc with that carrier, but as you go through the required legal process, the police various or other reports that you hold some sway with the former carrier.

In addition, it is possible that the previous owner reported to their carrier (and other authorities) as lost, and the unit may now be on the blacklist, which will prevent its features on any carrier anywhere, anything else is done. But, again, these official reports, you have maybe a few extend.

You do not want to check if the device is carrier unlocked or not... If not, then it can only serve as it is originally made for door. Reference:

However, even if unlocked, so also reported as lost, then it still won't fully work on any medium. Except again once you use your police service and other reports as stabilizing with the carrier imposed on the lock.

Also, be aware that no BB devices are universally functional on all carriers. First, each model is made with only a few radio technologies and frequencies that the unit can operate with... and can operate on carriers that operate on those. In addition, each carrier decides what specific device model numbers that they will support for these features BB... If the carrier does not have this device as supported for automatic broadcasting HRT and address book maintenance, then full BIS functions may not be possible, even if it is consistent with what the carriers of radio signals.

You have a lot of work to do. Good luck and let us know!

  • Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError blackBerry Smartphones

    I have a Bold 9900 using 7.1.0.714 platform 5.1.0.532.

Facebook does not work because instead, I get an untrapped exception: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError.

I need help to solve this problem please

Hello and welcome to the community!

There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

If it doesn't boot properly, then you need to try Safe Mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode

There may be a code updated to the value of the carrier - check out them through this Portal:

The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably a lot of pages) until you see a line that says "eception execption. Click on this line. The application name will be in the info. Alternative methods to implement the newspapers are in this KB:

    • KB05349 How to activate, view, and extract the the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone

The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application. Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

Good luck and let us know!
