  I have the latest version of 'CC' Pshop, LR and bridge.

  I find it easier to manage the sides in Bridge, assign keywords, etc. and then perform a synchronization of LR.  Before about a week before I could rate my photos in Bridge, for instance, a rating of "2 stars", then in LR, (pointing to the same physical folder where pictures (RAW and JPG) right click on the folder and select "synchronize files" - and the sides would be updated, so-called '0 star' to '2 stars'.)

  This feature no longer works.  I'm not sure that the upgrade had nothing to do with it.  I did not change the way in which this bridge or LR handle meta-data.

  Any help please?

  Default Lightroom reads and writes metadata to the catalog file, it can also write some of the data in an xmp file if you choose to do so.

  Bridge and ACR however only reads and writes the xmp sidecar or in the header of the file.

  If you import an image in Lightroom and there is metadata in a file this Lightroom xmp will read and apply the data. After you import the files if you update catalog information in Lightroom, you need Lightroom to do. (Menu bar > metadata > read metadata from file.)

  I don't know if if that happens when you choose to synchronize a folder, if there are new files to import, it will read the data but I think it's maybe not done to files that are already in the catalog.

  To do my photo galleries, I use CS5, because it's the last usable version by the modified galleries I could since CS3.  My modified pages have links to other pages on my web site, while those who come now with Photoshop are completely unrelated.

  Thus, another feature lost in the bridges later is the ability to display the ENTIRE contents of a folder and its subfolders.  To work around this problem, I chose to show records including metadata or file name DOES NOT contain zzz, since no don't.  It worked well and I made hundreds of galleries of my trees phylogenetic species folder.

  Until I came to this gallery, of the Tachinidae. I updated all my galleries of arthropods after I did the usual procedure and created the Gallery (and deleted the previous Gallery on my PC and the web), I noticed that the first image is a Belvosia and not the Archytas or other species that should have come before, in alphabetical order.  I tried again and found that it was not a lot of files in subfolders that should have come up.  I tried other finds, as all files ending in .tif, or anything that had the keyword Tachinidae, always the same result.

  Then, I tried the same search in CS6 and he finds everything, but of course, I can't do my galleries here, I went back to CS5 and made a new folder TACHINIDAE 1 and moved all the files and tried again, without success.  I tried a file backup with the same result.  Reset did not help.

  Today, I tried again and as he has done the research, I could see it indexing the Archytax subfolder and others which have not been included, but now, after more than 30 minutes, all I have is a circle of rotation and no element.  I had turned to other folders I did just before galleries and they shoot to the top of all images, as before, but this has stopped my progress in this project dead in my tracks.

  I can't make any sense this at all.

  After hours yesterday and again today on this seemingly intractable problem, I deleted the cache and restored normality!

  I have a folder in my finder 'search in the current folder' where returns 0 results even though I get the names of the files in this folder.

  Thanks for posting in the communities of Support from Apple. I see that there is a folder with about 300 PDF files that you are not able to search through the search option. I know that the research allows me to find just the right file. I'll be more than happy to help.

  You did a great job so far with re-indexing of that folder. First of all, to start in safe mode. This will be clear cache files and perform a few system checks. Once in safe mode, see if you can search inside this folder. Here is the article about how to start in safe mode. You can ignore the part where it says "If your Mac does not complete startup".

  Reboot will leave safe mode. If this does not work, try to test this question in a new user and copy the folder in this new user to see if this is a question broad system.

  You have a common problem with Windows 7. The work that I and many others use is a utility called FileMenu Tools. You can download safely from this link: http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/System/System-Enhancements/FileMenu-Tools-Portable.shtml .

  After downloading, install the program. Each option is checked by default. I would be much more selective on this subject, otherwise your context menu will be a full page long! When the main window opens, you will see a list on the right side of all the elements that can be added to the context menu. Start weeding through the list and every one to take away, you don't need the United Nationsby checking the box.

  Once you have completed your selection (de-selections) make sure that you click the green check mark in the row of icons at the top of the left window of the interface to 'Apply' of your choice. The program can do much more, but that answers your specific question. I am told that the program has a good help file, so try here if you are interested.
