System does not boot after changing the appearance settings

I installed XP Home successfully, but the resolution of the screen to be changed. When I followed the instructions of troubleshooting, I was unable to get to the drivers. I changed the settings on the advanced screen prompt to auto, and now after the Windows XP logo load and it I hear the hard drive running, the next screen is completely white/black. Help!

Is this the same solution for: in the advanced options of monitor, I selected "do not use this device"?  I tried to update the driver for the monitor and reach for straws when the button 'update driver' has been 'grayed out' (not available).  I have a new HP 2009 flat screen and have just installed XP on a new hard drive.  Monitor worked, although some resolution.  The type of monitor has been defined as "default monitor" and driver is VgaSave.  Thank you!

  • Tecra A3 does not work after changing the power settings

I changed my power settings in my tecra a3 laptop and now it does not start correctly. wants to start but just keeps going back to press F2 or F12 it please help.

    Hello
where did you changed them? In the BIOS or in the Toshiba HW setup?

I suggest you go into bios after turning on your machine. You have to hit just F2 Ant then in the search for bios for setting "all default setting" or something with "bios setup defaults" to reset your bios settings.

After that, your computer should start up again.

  • Satellite Pro L40 does not start after changing the BIOS settings

Changed some settings in the bios last night and now when I boot I get a screen black lights flash and hard drive lights up but nothing on the screen.

There is no password on the bios... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

I put a windows disc now, I hear the disc spin but nothing on the screen

(I think that I have come to the right place on the forum)

    It s a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 model psl4be.

    Thank you

    > There was no bios password... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

You can set the default BIOS ONLY inside the BIOS access BIOS by pressing F2 or at the beginning of the initialization of the order

But I doubt that this problem is related to the BIOS.
Maybe it s just a simple bad luck that this problem happened exactly after change something in the BIOS.

Try connecting an external monitor and check if you can see something on the 2nd screen.

  • HARD does not work after changing the disk partitions recovery media creator

    Hello world

After installing windoows 8.1 April major upgrade (win 8.1 presents as OEM), and have shrunk C partition to create a data partition "D", "Troubleshooting" option under advanced start menu is no longer available.

Toshiba Recovery Media Creator does not work, too (it can not find any hard disk recovery partion).
I got in the OEM recovery partition.
I am also able to create a recovery using the Windows tool unit.
You have no idea about it?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Sorry to hear about all this. Unfortunately, you now have a big problem. I don't understand why you didn't create support of recovery before you started to change the factory settings, including to change the structure of the partitions of HARD drive.

Mobile offered with factory settings a structure specific partitions and recovery recorded image is saved on the partition of drive specific and marked with invisible markers. These markers are visible for preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool and when you start the tool can find points of reference and has full access to specific files.

Unfortunately, after changing the original scores structure Toshiba tool cannot find these markers more and is not able to copy files from recovery media recovery. What you need now is the original recovery disk. Using this disk, you can install original recovery image and after doing this, you will have new factory settings.

I know it sounds stupid now but you must order the original recovery disk and it can be done on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • OptiPlex 755 USFF does not start after changing the cmos battery

I have a desktop Optiplex 755 USFF requiring the cmos battery to replace. After the replacement of the computer will not start. It brings up the menu windows start, the sasfe mode, safe mode with network set mode command prompt, security, last know good configuration and boot normally. Any option will bring to the top of the WIndows XP loading screen and then re-boot of the computer right back to the start screen. A big loop. I can get the hard drive to boot in an Optiplex GX280 without problem. I was told of the motherboard needs to be replaced, but I changed the units of the system and the same thing with this hard drive.

I tried to reinstall the operating system and get all the way to "starting windows" and then the blue screen stop error message 0x0000007B (0xF7A10524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) dead. The computer is WIndows XP SP3, 1 GB of ram with 80 GB hard drive. It seems that the Setup program does not recognize the hard drive.

    Any help would be appreciated.

After several hours of experimentation, I finally found the correct BIOS settings in order to get the computer to boot. There are three BIOS settings that need to be changed or check settings by default so that it can work. SATA 0 must be activated, SATA operations must be changed from AHCI, ATA and in the modular Bay, by default "far-sighted" should be replaced by the IDE. Save the settings and start the computer to the right upwards.

  • HP ProBook s 4540 - system does not boot after recovery

My friend gave me the laptop, because the system has not been detected. I decided to recovery operating system.
I had to face following error messages:

-I did not receive "Boot Device not Found" error

I started the HARD drive with result success test

-next step was to recovery OS
He finished with the new error message
"The boot image selected is not authenticated to. "Press to continue.
    According to this topic:
    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/selected-boot-image-did-not-aut...
    I did following:
    -secureboot changed to disabled
    problem persisted

    -legacy changed to enabled
Since then, I'm not able to do anything. When I leave the start system, it ends with the HP logo, and nothing happens.
When I press ESC after a reboot, menu appears, but I am not able to enter the BIOS. If freezes all the time in the menu with the text highlihted.

I tried to remove the battery, unplug the power, press the powerbutton for 30 seconds, nothing has changed.

Next step should probably be to temporarily remove the RTC battery, but I don't know if I'm allowed to open it without losing the warranty.

The laptop is about 3 months old.

    Hello:

Because the laptop is under warranty, I suggest your friend contact HP technical support and ask them to solve the problem.

When you get a not found boot device error it's hard drive (if the test says it is spent or not) or the drive controller on the motherboard.

I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

HP support will probably have your friend go through certain stages that you did before they tell him what to do next as return them for warranty repairs, etc.

  • My copy registered and checked for XP Pro SP3 does not start after changing the motherboard. Second problem is that I can't find my original install of XP Pro disc.

After failing to find the source of reliable performance from my PC, I decided to bite the bullet and replace the motherboard, memory and the CPU. I installed a triple base 435 Athlon and a motherboard Gigabyte MA74GMT. Awarded PC again started the first time - but Windows will not, I get a number of options but none work - safe mode brings up several lines of messages on the partition of multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0).

A previous post suggested that a similar message meant some kind of malware but if I replace the old motherboard, processor and memory Windows works very well - in fact I use it now.

Do I have an option but to reinstall Windows from a CD? Otherwise I have a problem - I can't find the installation discs for each piece of software except my Windows XP Pro! I do repair discs?

  • System does not boot after CHKDSK

Reference Dell 745, XP SP3, fully patched. Had not run CHKDSK in 5 years, machine has been in use, thought it might be a good idea. NOT!

I plan to CHKDSK/F, he ran at the next startup, then I get the splash screen, then black screen, nothing else. If I turn the power off, the next time you start trying to run CHKDSK again, and if I run it or not, same result - start screen, then nothing. What to do next?

The machine is in reverse now - here's "the rest of the story" - pressing F8 didn't work, couldn't get into safe mode. Recovery Console is not installed on versions of our company. I was able to get a couple of our Support service for Office XP installation diskettes - only one is bootable and even through, that's for XP SP1 and I have XP SP3, it worked.

Choose the option to repair install didn't solve the problem at all. Once again starting on the CD, I chose the Recovery Console. At this time, I chose FixBoot and FixMBR. And then when I removed the CD and booted up again, pressing F8 gave me access to the boot with Safe Mode and other options menu. Safe mode does not work - I got nowhere (I don't remember exactly what happened at this point, but it did not help). Which does not finally was the last good Configuration. Once I chose that and rebooted, I had a relatively normal cases, slow start and connection, without the detour by CHKDSK. He has been sluggish about 10 minutes longer than normal, but worked normally since.

I don't see any reference to CHKDSK saves in my shaft system of the observer of events tools - any suggestions on where I could display them?

My lesson learned here - if the system is not broken, CHDSK is going to break, so on modern systems, only run CHDSK when you experience the symptoms that you can't otherwise explain. That had been the case at home on a Win7 laptop, which had suddenly slow, with a blurry view near the start icon.  I had been worried about the virus and horses of Trojan, but a suggestion in the forum Win7 on Tek-Tips pushed me to run CHKDSK, who did to solve this problem. It's a relief to be back to normal!
