System goes into sleep/hibernation mode suddenly; sometimes THINKPAD Sun splash screen

I have a type-7EU, put T61P 6460 updated since the original factory with Win 7 and a Corsair SSD.  This problem occurred months after these upgrades.

Problem as a whole seems to be displayed in many ways, so I don't know what the root cause and whether or not the system can be repaired.

A few weeks ago, I found that I could not resume after sleep or Hibernate mode.  The system would start to recover, but the screen turns off and the "half moon" icon lit up.  However, instead of going completely to sleep, it seems to begin to restore once again, because the caps lock num lock light flashes and the DVD player would be 'would click,' as they do when first starting the system.

In other situations, when I first tries to start, the ThinkPAD splash screen is very low.  This happens until I see Win 7 menu to select Win7 or an older operating system to start.  Once I selected Win 7, the screen flashes between normal and total brightness black during the boot process. Usually, the system never ends completely to where I can connect to Windows.

Or, I can work after 5 minutes or an hour away, and then the system suddenly goes to sleep

Sometimes, I noticed that the vent near the upper left corner of the system is very hot.  But then I got this problem starting even when the system is off all day and probably cold.

Alternatively, I can work all day without any problems.

Can anyone advise on what could be the problem?  I'm looking at a motherboard replacement?  If so, is it possible to buy from an eBay seller?  Any recommendations?

OK guys, I don't know whether to apologize or grin because I came across a solution.

I'll try to answer all the answers to this one message.

I already downloaded the manual equipment, because about two months ago the screen on my T61p cracked badly, during a business trip.  Not good.  And in the coming days, the crack has continued to worsen.  When I got home, I find this manual and did an eBay search to find a replacement screen.  I also find a video on YouTube that shows how to disassemble the 'lid' (once removed from the main system) to change the screen. That everything worked well, except that it took several hours longer than I expected.  Going to pull apart the main system, I removed the wind and the heat sink and blew all the dust.

The way I solved this problem in all its manifestations, was to RESTORE control Plan for the Plan of power to all of the default values.  I had been playing with some advanced settings and noticed that some advanced settings settings did not share the same parameter values for the Basic setting, things like sleep and will point.

I can't that speculate that there are a few subtleties modes ensure Intel CPU, which can be programmed for Windows and are persistent through a reset or even a full stop. And I can also speculate that between Windows and the BIOS T61p, there are a few bugs in the way that these settings are configured.

In any case, once I did the reset to use, I can put my system to sleep or hiberate or close windows and the system still restarts when necessary.  I can also put my system to sleep by closing the lid of the screen and restart opening the cover.

Everything is good again, and I didn't have to spend the $$$.

Also, there are several months I upgraded to 8 GB of memory, of using a Crucial element.  Works very well, and I noticed that my MS Office apps now run faster, like Windows (64-bit).

This is therefore an envelope, I think that, as they say in Hollywood.

I did a restore to June 8, most early I could continue.  The hard drive worked without interruption after that.  I did a forced sleep and restart and the system froze again. With this in mind, I wonder if .NET patches that were released were running somehow at the time of sleep and that he could not recover.  OR, during sleep, the system was made of updates and the system has been disabled, corrupting the updates.  I looked at the Windows Update settings and it has been set to automatically install updates.  It is quite possible that the user did not know and did not recognize there are pending updates.  Maybe updates were not correctly packed in order to manage a system from going into Sleep Mode, while they were installing. In any case, any who would provide help on how to identify the problem and fix it.  There may be registry entries need to be corrected?

Note: It may take an hour or more time to detect and replace the erroneous data, please be patient. When it is finished, restart the computer and reinstall Windows Vista SP2.

If Windows Vista SP2 can not always be installed, I suggest to download the stand-alone Installer and install it in clean boot Mode.

Step 2: Download the installer of Windows Vista SP2 Standalone
    ===========================================
1 download the installer of Windows Vista SP2 Standalone from the link below depending on the Type of system:

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 - version independent ALL languages for Windows Vista 32 bit (KB948465) (475,5 MB)

Note: Click 'Continue' if the "User Account Control" window appears.

    2. click on 'Services', check "Hide all Microsoft Services" and click on 'Disable All' (if it's not gray).
    3. click on 'Start', click 'Disable all', click 'OK' and restart the computer.

Note: Disable temporarily the startup group only prevents the start up programs from loading at startup. This should not affect the system or other programs. We can manually run these programs later.

    4. double-click the downloaded standalone installer and follow the instructions to install Windows Vista SP2.

To restore the computer to a Normal startup, repeat step 1 above. Then click "Normal startup" in the general tab, click on "OK" and restart the computer.

If there are any questions or concerns, feel free to let me know. It is my pleasure to be useful.

The cause was not determined, but evidence tends to a disturbance in the download or installation process, with one of the errors in the event log is an error in checksum on one of the modules. With a large file, 745 meg, the mean time to failure on a LAN network is probably shorter than the download time.  The installation process was probably longer than the time that the system has increased...  Corrective actions for Microsoft could include more small download / install, not allowing an automatic installation for automatic download over a certain size, or deal with the best controls during installation to intercept the checksum error.  Duane G. • Pavillion g7 goes into reboot hibernation mode

I have a wm Pavillion G7-1329 old 2 years with Windows 7. I use Windows antivirus and firewall for spyware with Malwarebytes. I've noticed recently, when I download or update anything, instead of restart as before, he hangs up and after about 5 minutes, he goes into hibernation and will not come out of it.

I have to make a strong power off.

I made a couple of restore points, but this does not solve the problem.

  • Random stop into sleep/hibernation mode

I recently installed Windows 7 Professional on my HP laptop and I have the following problem: when I enter the computer to 'Hibernate' mode or 'sleep', after a certain period of time (usually a few hours), the computer will wake up automatically and the screen will turn blue for a fraction of a second before the computer shuts down completely.  When I turn on the computer again, he says he was arrested in an improper way and wonder whether or not I'd like to boot normally or in safe mode.

When I was with Windows XP, I haven't had no problem leaving the computer in mode 'sleep' for days at a time.  Anyone know why I have this problem with Windows 7?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :).

    Hi alexpm,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

I suggest you to update the drivers for all the hardware components of your computer and check.

Method 1: Steps to update the drivers for all hardware components:

    1. open the Manager of devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and security, and then, under system, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. in the list of hardware categories, find the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
    3. click on the tab driver, click Update driver, and then follow the instructions. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information visit http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

    Method 2:

    1. click the Start button, type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
    2. right click on the wireless adapter and select Properties.
    3. you will see 5 tabs, click on the last one that says "power management."
    4. now, simply UNCHECK the first box that says "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
    5. click on the OK button.

Method 3: Create a new user profile and check if the problem persists there. This problem may also be due to damaged user account.

To create a new profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile will also be created.

    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    2. click on manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. click on create a new account.
    4. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

  • Vista goes into sleep mode automatically just after the restart

The following problem was irregular. Sometimes, other times not. I'm totally frustrated as to why it is happening and I would like to solve this problem, now and forever.

Yes, first facts: I have an Asus G71Gx laptop game with Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 M. 6 GB of memory, Windows Vista 64-bit. Do not think that other information is necessary, unless I'm mistaken.

The problem: well, just after the start/start my laptop goes into sleep mode. As in, Windows starts fine and I see my desktop with all the shortcut icons and the background, and then all of a sudden the screen goes black (with two Dim lights blue on the screen - fellow Asus G71Gx users will know it), and the power led button flashes slowly in and out, as if it was in sleep/hibernation. The led light cover mode monitor "sleep". I did the whole "all never put under power options. I've updated my Nvidia graphic drivers for later. I even disabled Hibernate in the command prompt. Seriously, I have above average PC knowledge. But it has trampled me... everything short.

Sometimes, I have to go through this cycle up to 9 or 10 times and then stops. Other days there is no question. But I still have to reboot just to be safe and to avoid the game stutter (another question that I don't know what it is, since I was the latest GPU drivers). But I can live with that.

It cannot be an overheating GPU. I mean, it's at the start and at the present time, it is cold enough to have this piece as a cooler for the GPU! Haha.

I thought about possible power supply problems. But how to test it? The laptop doesn't have it, the first week I got it. I use an adapter to put the American card in European decision-making.

It is the ONLY major problem I have with this laptop. Sleep at startup. The other two, being game stutter if I don't restart my laptop and double tapping (seems to be an Asus problem according to the forums), are quite minor and I can live with that.

Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm VERY tempted to get windows 7 and do a clean install, but Vista was not really giving me any problems. But if I know that this issue is associated with Vista, then I say Bravo to Vista...

Edit: Apologies for writing this thread Windows 7 and explore the internet forum. Don't know how it happened! Well I'm leaving here now, and hopefully this will get sorted.

After 2 replacements of mobo that apparently caused this same prob, what finally fixed for me has been updated the chipset drivers.

My notebook, ProBook 450 G2 goes into sleep mode when well even parameters of energy set to never. The operating system is Windows 7 Professional.  I had a technician Microsoft verifiez_ the. I also had HP tech check the. They both said that it was a hardware problem. I sent it to HP to fix it and they replaced the motherboard and said that they have tested. Well, on the theory that your computer is awkward, try to change the settings to another thing and OK your way out the control panel.  Then go back and put them in the way they were and OK your way out.  Occasionally, it will reset the internal parameters and things can return to normal.

  • Monitor goes into sleep mode during the installation of Windows 7

Hello, I'm doing a new install of Windows 7 pro on a new SSD. He gets regarding to reset for the second time during the installation, and just before showing the page where you name the computer and configure user accounts, the monitor goes to sleep and won't return. only way to recover is to reset the machine, only to do exactly the same thing again. Anyone know what could be the cause? I used the same disk of windows for many expenses format / install Windows after hardware upgrades in the past and this has never happened before. Can provide the complete specifications of the system if necessary. Help, please!

    Hi Danpedro,

I see that the screen goes into sleep mode, in the last step of installing Windows 7. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. you have an external display driver card attached to the motherboard?

    3. you format the hard disk during Windows 7 installation?

    Method 1.

Disconnect any external devices and restart the computer to see if it helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Method 2.

If you have a driver to attached external display card, then you can disable this external driver in the BIOS and check if that helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Warning of the BIOS:

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Satellite L50-B-1HU randomly goes into sleep mode

Randomly, my laptop (Satellite L50-B-1HU) goes into sleep mode.
It happened at least 10 times in the last two weeks.

Once by chance, he goes to sleep he requires the power button to turn, but the power button should be 1 to 3 times, as it can to sleep just after pressing the power button.

Its happen even if the pad is in use. In windows power options, I turned also to disable the mode 'sleep'.

The laptop itself has been used for two weeks (which has passed since the first use)

    Any advice?
    Thank you

Like Notepad running in the power of the battery or also using the power adapter plugged?
From my point of view of a few notebook could enter the mode "sleep" due to low battery.

Also some 3rd party application preinstalled on the laptop could set the camera in mode "Eve".
Guess what: try to start the laptop is safe mode and let it run for a longer period of time. It would be interesting to know if the laptop would be access to the sleep mode using safe mode.

You can also use the command "powercfg. Windows 8 PowerCfg has a useful switch called - energy.
This technique is valuable to solve sleep problems.
Start the console with the command: cmd.
    In the console type: powercfg-ENERGY

Now it takes 60 seconds and will create an HTML file that you can open in your web browser to get the full report of energy. Now quite sure if the information could be useful, but it might be interesting what details this report would provide.
