System not on the iCloud photo library?

Can I can put a photo library independent of the system on the disk to iCloud and therefore have access to it from multiple macs?

If you put a photo library on iCloud drive and access it from another Mac synchronization between devices may corrupt the library. I've tested this with a few small test libraries, and none of them survived to synchronization, once I opened new during on iCloud drive.

I would not risk with important photos.

These items are available only on the Mac where you created the:

    • Books, cards and calendars

  • Photos on macOS Sierra: Album of peoples does not synchronize with iCloud photo library

Using Photos has just been updated for Sierra, and we finally have it in writing:

Note: Persons identified in the album people are not synchronized between devices.

And as far as I know, it really does not synchronize between my libraries of Photos on the MacBook Pro and my iMac.

It's different in the 10 user guide iOS for the iPhone and iPad:

    http://help.Apple.com/iPhone/10/#/iph9c7ee918c

People are synchronized between devices where you are connected with the same Apple ID.

I wonder how this is supposed to work, if a Mac and iPhone are synchronized with iCloud User Library.

None of the faces that I named on my iPhone did sync it with my Mac.

Another indication that the lack of synchronization of the people and names is deliberate:

This document has now also been updated:

Use iCloud photo library on several Mac - Apple Support computers and Photos

After have connected you, these items appear in the Photos app on all your Mac computers:

    • All photos and original videos
    • All folders and albums
    • Smart albums
    • Keywords
    • Memories
    • Key photo selections

He used to say, tags searchable faces will perform synchronization between devices, but the tags are more is mentioned. Now we have the 'memories' instead.

  • Not enough disk space to convert the iPhoto photo library

My wife iPhoto library has about 9 500 photos. She has a MacBook Air, which has limited hard disk space, so we put his iPhoto library on a SD card (which is still in its SD slot). We decided to convert the iPhone photo library. When the process is started, it happens about 4% on the progress bar when a popup said that there is not enough disk space to perform the task (said to 72GO). How can I complete this process? She wants to ensure its iPhone and iPad Air can all share all the photos via iCloud. Can I put the library of Photos on the SD card too? Once the synchronization of library of Photos with iCloud, not all large digital images disappear from MacBook Air and only a miniature remain (like on the iPhone and the iPad)?

I decided to try the procedure on my original post on my MacBook Pro.

I copied the Library.photoslibrary Photos of my MBP to an external hard drive connected to my MBP.

I did an "Option" + then click on 'Photos' selected the "Library.photoslibrary Photos" on my external hard drive. This produces the following pop-up message:

"This library contains items to download from iCloud photo library".

"To download the complete library, delete the incomplete elements, then set this library as the library of the system preferences and activate iCloud photo library. This will disable iCloud photo library on other libraries. »

"Delete the incomplete items" or "quit".

I clicked on "Quit" and posted above.

  • iCloud photo library on mac restored synchronization problems

Recently, my macbook pro was stolen.  After receiving the new machine, I did a restore of the system to my Time Capsule.  Almost everything has worked flawlessly.  However, I was not able to get photos to sync my library to iCloud.  I am well connected to iCloud and checked all the appropriate boxes.   I went through the painful process of waiting for the pictures to download x x GB GB in the preferences pane (which took DAYS).  He did finally multiply thanks to the data but now it just says: «Download x pictures»   No pictures have been synchronized since the day wherever the other laptop was taken.  Does sync between my iPhone and the Photos app on the site from iCloud, but they make their way towards the new macbook.

Early 2015 Macbook Pro running 10.11.5

Version 1.5 (370.42.0) of the Photos

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

but now it just says: «Download x pictures»

You can have one or more photos corrupted in your photo library, who can not download on iCloud photo library.

As long as not all the photos have been uploaded to iCloud, no new pictures will be downloaded.

The download will begin once all the photos have been uploaded.

You have pictures in a different format - a PDF file. TIFF, BMP, or similar, which can be processed by Photos?

  • Access iCloud photo library on iPhone

    iPhone 6 + 128 GB
Latest version of the software running
A lot of memory on the phone on the left

I recently went to Apple to try to fix a problem of very small software (safari repeatedly crashing) I got with my phone.  The solution? A clean wipe of the phone.  If that's what I did.  However, I went home with what should be a solved problem, and he was always to be funny.  Being me, I'd rather have a glitch safari with all my previous settings and tact on my entire phone apps to have a glitchy safari while trying to drop my phone back to a semblance of normality.  In these circumstances, I restored my latest backup (which was the day before) and had my phone 'back' to me.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get pictures of my iCloud is displayed on my iPhone.  I can see them on my PC via iCloud.com, they are always there, but I have NO idea how to make back to my phone.  I tried to turn the iCloud photo library button in the settings of the iPhone, but it does not, either.  I don't mind even if they don't come back to my iPhone (although, in the end, I would have PREFERRED that, as I tend to look back in time with photos of my kids and doing collages with current photos), but I just want to be able to ACCESS.  Like... whatever it is at this point, really, to be able to see the pictures on my iPhone.

I tried searching everywhere on how to accomplish only access photos of icloud for iphone, but everywhere only gives advice on photos of the icloud iphone, which I'm perfectly capable of doing.  It's just the opposite, that seems to be annoying.

    Can anyone help?

Just a guess - in addition to the activating/deactivating the key to iCloud in the settings of the iPhone photo library, I would also try signing out & in icloud - perhaps with a reboot or restart forced between the two.

It seems you want to use iCloud photo library as an archive of photos. It was not intended for this use.

iCloud Photo library FAQ - Apple Support

It is designed to allow you to have full access to your library without having to choose which photos and videos you store on which devices because it connects to your library using iCloud to all your devices, you registered this service. You can choose the option to Optimize Storage iPhone, which will automatically replace your photos in full resolution with optimized for your phone free storage.  Such use allows to my 64 GB iPhone store more 18 000 photos and 877 videos with fast access on my iPhone and elsewhere, while occupying only 4.8 GB on my physical device. The library full resolution resumes of more than 112 GB of storage which I can access in iCloud.com, on my computer, or by requesting the download of contents of high resolution on my iPhone with that I will make.

Otherwise, if this does not work for you, you can use other services, such as Dropbox, archive your library, so you can completely remove the photos from your iPhone. If you deleted pictures from your iPhone now, they would delete the iCloud photo library so that he be kept in sync as your Contacts or Notes.

  • ICloud photo library - double images and memory iPhone 5 c problem

    Hello

After months of deliberation, I decided to convert my Aperture on Mac in photo library and link the family three iPads and my iPhone to iCloud photos. I made sure all software updates have been installed on all devices, including the Mac. After 22 days of continuous download, I have now all the pictures in the clouds!

However I have 2 problems. My 30 k + original images expanded to 40 k + with thousands of duplicates and my iPhone 5 c memory (8 GB - what a mistake!) is now full and I cannot take photos more or update applications on it. I guess that duplicates are albums on iPads.

Before I converted, I checked and the documentation stated that the Photos would be recognition of duplicates and not replicate in the cloud. I also checked the box to optimize the images on my iPad and iPhone not realizing that even with the optimization of the paltry memory on the 5 c would be totally inadequate - the iPad is very good.

Now I have more documented and install PhotoSweeper on the Mac seems a possible solution to the problem in double - the alternative is to go through each image!

Re the problem of the iPhone, the only solution I see is to stop the iCloud photo library on the phone and then remove the images on the phone. Who will free the memory, and I will then be able to take pictures I have to take pictures by other means. It's not ideal for a functioning flawlessly, but when my contract is up this summer the next phone will be a greater amount of memory and hope it will be seamless!

Any advice please before going further?

Photo Sweeper is a good package and works well and is course - so are duplicate Annihilator for Photos and PowerPhotos

You could try turning off ICPL on the small phone, cleaning of duplicates and leaving all s = complete uploads and downloads and stabilize and they new the on with photos on the iPhone - optimized it can handle then - worth a try

  • Disabled by mistake to iCloud photo library and he turned his back.  Still says it will remove pictures

I disabled the iCloud photo library photos & soft adjustment camera, as well as any type of sharing.  I need try to free 13 GB of space which has been monopolized by ghost photos that were not on any device or even show in icloud.com.  Restarted the phone, the data was retrieved, and I re-enabled all elements in parameters, including iCloud photo library of photo sharing.  iCloud library, Optimize iPhone/iPad, storage, Upload to my photo stream, download Photos of Burst, iCloud, sharing photos, pictures to summarize all lit up.

The question I have is that I see the message:

"iCloud photo library will be removed from iCloud in 28 days.  Choose to download and keep the originals below to download a full copy of your photos and videos. »

That's fine, I have all my saved photos.  What I find that I am able to do is add any (as via iCloud.com Photos), as the 'Upload' button is grayed out and the same message appears on the header of the photos app page.

I want to reset it.  I thought that turn everything would have been fine.  But it seems to be stuck.  I activated on all devices.  It's frustrating because it is preventing me from getting things done on the fly, I'm used to because I can't upload pictures in the Photos app.

  • How to remove photos from my iPhone 6 s, without deleting icloud photo library on all my devices with ios 9.2.1?

I just updated my iPhone 6s ios 9.2.1 and whenever I try to remove photos from the iPhone library, it is said that they will remove the iCloud photo library on all devices. I don't want to do, I want to save the photos on my computer, but free up space on my phone. Help!

If you have iCloud library enabled in the iPhone then any photo that you delete from your phone is also removed to iCloud and all devices connected to this library to iCloud. It is not a setting or an option where you can change this while continuing to use iCloud photo library. You can reduce the space required on the phone by activating the settings > iCloud > Photos > optimize iPhone storage. You can suggest that Apple offers more options via: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html

  • iCloud photo library with a library of Photos more

I have two libraries of Photos on my iMac. Now, I want to use ICloud photo library. Which will work? So how do?

The iCloud library works with the library that you designated as the library of the system.

If you want to have the photos both of these libraries in the iCloud photo library you will need to merge the two libraries with the paid version of PowerPhotos. Then designate the fully merged library the library of the system.

Don't forget that you can buy enough extra iCloud storage to take account of the size of your library.  And it will take a lot of time to download all photos from the online library.  A user reported nearly two weeks only for 7000 photos.

  • ICloud photo library is not download all of the images on my Mac or iPhone

I created iCloud library when it was made public, and it has worked very well, apart from the fact that there are about 100 images (out of my 5 k library) who download any Photos on my MacBook Pro and my iPhone 6. have a problem where, for some reason, quite a number of pictures in my iCloud photo library appear under vacuum with a symbol of little cloud instead of the image. I assumed it was always download files in the background, however, this has been the case for weeks and there is no activity indicated. I restarted my iPhone, my iPad and my Mac and did all sorts of other troubleshooting ideas, but they seem to refuse to download. Help! I have all the latest updates installed.

They are peppered throughout my library and do not seem to have anything in common. I assumed it was always download files in the background, however, this has been the case for weeks and there is no activity indicated. I restarted my iPhone, my iPad and my Mac and did all sorts of other troubleshooting ideas, but they seem to refuse to download. When I click on one to see it bigger, it fails with an error, but shows just an empty pane.

You have "Optimize Storage" activated on your iPhone or Mac?

Have you checked, it makes the photos have been uploaded to iCloud?  Open the Photos.app to the iCloud web interface www.cloud.com and check if the pictures in question have the same problem on iCloud.

Added: I see the white rectangle with the cloud icon, every time I edit a photo. The icon turns white, until the modified version has been downloaded to iCloud and synchronized at the back.  If you are that many of these clouds icons seeng a great prt library is not yet synchronized.

  • Media browser does not show most of the photos under iCloud photo library

I use iCloud photo library. I have 50 GB of space to iCloud, and I use only 17. My camera has 2.2 GB of free local space. And yet, when I save photos, their local copies are removed almost immediately. This means that the media browser (UIImagePickerController) does not display these photos. On my iPad, the only pictures presented are two screenshots, I took on my phone in August.

Furthermore, on my iPad Photos shows as taking 1.0 GB, while the same library resumes 7.0 GB on my phone. Both devices are devices in 32 GB with 2 + GB of free space, but this problem is present on my iPad.

Forgive me, but what is UIImagePickerController?
