System random blackout curtains

My computer seems black out randomly. The duration of use varies greatly and there doesn't seem to be a reason for it.
Power outages usually occur after many hours of operation and an occaision it took place while I was faced with the screen of reading a web page, but not actually 'aid' the mouse or the keyboard.

The time between turn it on and blackout curtains is unpredictable but is often many hours rather than near the departure time upward.
No warning is given, the system turned off just as it would if the plug was pulled from wall however power screens light shows this isn't the case. If I press the button 'ON' again once the computer restarts from scratch without any difficulty, but a warning that the system will not stop correctly appears and files are then checked to find errors in the planned way.

I backed up all my files on an external hard drive as a precaution.
Power connections appear to be good and no power outage on power circuits were noted.

My belief is that it is a hardware problem, (what a thermal fuse?) but it is possible that there may be a updated software in the wrong place, but I would appreciate any suggestions to remedy this problem before I release the machine in the hands of the high street techies.

Tell us what 'black out' means to you, of course, we understand what you see.

If your system seems to be working and then it closes off completely and you should use the power button to get there again and it does not actually start the XP reboot again, a process that resembles a heat problem (too much of it).

If your system seems to be restarted on its own, you have another problem, so what's going on or not?

With a thermal cutout, it's generally not going to be any trace of him in the log files - just the CPU stops before he can write anything out if you let the system sit for a while, he can freshen up and last a little longer, and it can start right up again and turn for a while.

I would not go through this process to uninstall your drivers video until you know which video drivers you have and then you can see if you need to update or not.  That makes no sense at this point.

I would go through a process to ensure that your system is well ventilated and all vents are clear and that cooling fans that you actually turn.  Since we do not know if you have a desktop computer or laptop, this is something we can not tell you too much about.

If you have a desktop computer, there is probably a fan on top of your CPU and maybe on your video card and maybe integrated into the case - they all need to be cleaned, blown out and checked to make sure they are all rotating when you are turned on.  You also need to "lubricate" your CPU heatsink with thermal paste if it came loose or dried out.

If you have a laptop, laptops are not designed to run in your lap, because that could block the ventilation.

If you can, I also check all connections and cable to be sure they are secure.  Remove or disconnect everything that will come lose without too much force and put it immediately to do just one thing at a time, so you don't mix.  If you can get to the RAM chips and you have separate I/o cards, get one at a time a reinstall them to make sure they are well connected.

If you think that the system could close more regularly when you make video intense things like watching videos or playing games, so maybe you need to get some fans better who move more air through your system.

You might also have a problem with your power a supply overheating, but I would start with the easy stuff first.

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Do you see that you think not you should see and when you see it?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Now make some clarifications:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

    Try to reset your device: hold the home and power buttons at the same time and continue to hold until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Apple appears, reboot is underway, and the Slide to Unlock screen should display in a short time.

    I'm having a problem with my Windows media player and its rating system. After so much time to listen to all my music on random, he started playing some songs more frequently (based on evaluations of random playback) than others.     Unfortunately, I don't think that it is possible to disable the function of automatic scoring of WMP.

    You can, however, create an auto playlist that excludes most recently played songs, by adding a condition to Date played last is previous to the x . Then, you can play this auto playlist instead of all music. For more information, search help WMP AutoPlaylist .

  • Event ID 1074 - stop system random and unsolicited.

    I am currently working between several forums help and technical support from the manufacturer of my motherboard to solve a heinous behavior of my Windows 7 x 64 desktop. The number begins by a clean shutdown, completely at random, without my consent and without a doubt against my will. Try as I might this process cannot be stopped. By clicking on the "Cancel the stop" button which appears like he's trying to get out the slow closing process does not only prolong the inevitable in this process. Once finished, occasionally the system will attempt to restart on its own moments after closing and will fail. Sometimes, it will skip that and just go to the next step on this issue, which is a State does not. The system will not respond to the power button on my case or the button embedded on the motherboard for this kind of situation. The only method to then turn on the computer is to disconnect and turn off the power supply of my computer until a LED on the circuit board that indicates current is present in it turns off. After that I can immediately plug the system back in and it will then work correctly for months at a time.     Actually, the first time that it happened the day that I fixed it that went down, suspecting that that given the unique nature of the power button on my case. So unfortunately it is not as simple as that. However, I believe that it is in the general sense. Commissioning of responses from people on the forums several brought to my attention that it was not uncommon for there is a short on the extension cable 24 pins which is necessary to be able to use the power button on my case (Cooler Master Cosmos S.) This extension carries the power to the motherboard, and is in fact also what power button uses for its features, instead of being connected to the pins on the motherboard in a more traditional case. I have not yet verified, but theoretically, it seems more likely to be my problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. what security software is installed on the computer?

    3. which windows update has been installed recently?

    Let us try these steps and check the status.

    Method 1.

    Start the computer in safe mode with network and run a full scan of computer viruses.

    I work for an insurance company and must create system e-learnings. However, I have access to a database of training and use of the information customer of real life examples. I need to make sure that none of the protected health information (names, addresses, etc.) are. Does anyone know how I can "censor" or black this information in Captivate?     The quickest way I know to 'black out' information on background is to use a highlight layer. Set the fillcolor/border layer you want, then right-click on the layer and select 'merge in the background. This erases definitively the PHI of the background image, saving you crossfade in / bland numbers.

    As for video, you can have a chance in Captivate 3. It is a movement video editor full (FMV) available for Captivate 3 that you can download from the Adobe Web site. I don't know if it will allow you to change the different areas of the video, especially during several images, but it is worth it.

    I upgraded to v. 21.0 and I noticed that sometimes (more often recently) parts of the browser interface is just off. If I move the mouse to the blank parts, some of them reappear, but some will not. Refresh the browser (close and open again) sometimes work and eliminates white sometimes it doesn't. There seems to be a conflict with something on my OS with this version of the browser.

  • I just upgraded to 10... and now the links and buttons when my cursor passes over them, and my window blackout curtains all becomes black, whenever I scroll.

    I just upgraded to Firefox 10 and had to go back to 3.6 as 10 doesn't seem to work on my computer. I have a pc running windows 7. After the upgrade, whenever I moved my cursor on a button or link, linking out white or a black bock appears above him. In addition, whenever I try to scroll, the whole window becomes black until I have stop scrolling.

    I'll try from Firefox Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode. If you do not have the issue so that all your modules, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them in one by one until you find the culprit.

    I have a HP printer 4632 all-in-one that works fine except when I try to print a pdf file columns.  All prints well on pdf page except the part that has columns with numbers in the various boxes.  All columns are completely blacked out.  My old printer (Lexmark) printed such a fine document.  Can anyone help?

    No, the printer prints color very well, but I think I have solved the problem.  I was finally able to get the document in an area that allowed me to go to, click file and then click Print then print very well.  Before that, I didn't have a screen that let me go to the file, so I right click and impression that printed columns totally blacked out.  I think it is now solved but thanks for getting back to me.

    After that I updated to El Capitan (it seems) on my iMac.  My date and time system randomly change the incorrect time and back to 05/12/2013.   I see nothing tripping in particular.  Just all of a sudden my browser does not open a page... etc.   I have open system preferences, click "date and time", click on the padlock to open, enter my password and it immediately changes back up to the exact date and the second that it is free time.  I can't reset it for me.  I tried to leave the bolt open, unchecking the checkbox "do this automatically" & leaving auto.  Can anyone offer any suggestions as to why and how to solve this problem, please?   Thank you

    Hi, I have a win 7 Home premium system random freezes where just stopt and I have to restart.

    This happens usually about an hour after the start when my computer's bit (music player and browser open) then the music stops and last time image remains visible (not when my screen turned black before this time)

    After you disable most of the hardware and software this problem persists, sometimes twice a day, sometimes not for a day.

    Since no newspapers give nothing other than "the last stop was unexpected," I started to dig into some failures of wmi.

    I was wondering if someone could help me?  I am trying to generate a couple hundred VM to a clone using powercli.  at the end of the day, I would like to than the VM - name "name and random numbers.  for example "NewVM587962".

    I found a way to create a New VM name using random numbers by using a variable:

    $rnd = New-Object System.Random

    New-VM - vmhost $vmhost - name ($rnd.next (1,999999)) -model $template - $datastore - WarningAction "SilentlyContinue" Datastore

    I want to use the variable '$rnd = New-Object System.Random' with another variable: $vmname = "it doesn't matter".  Unforunately, the script below does not work and I get an error ' New - VM: could not find a positional parameter that accepts arguments... ". ».  the scipt I used is:

    $vmname = all what

    $rnd = New-Object System.Random

    New-VM - vmhost $vmhost - name $vmname ($rnd.next (1,999999)) -model $template - $datastore - WarningAction "SilentlyContinue" Datastore

    I tried, with a comma as well, quotes, removal of the quotes, but nothing that seems to work:

    $vmname, ($rnd.next (1,999999))

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • My new S2440L face the problem of power outage

    I have just purchase S2440L to replace my old S2340L. With S2340L, I have never have any problem of power outage but when I plug my new S2440L, it was goes black for a few seconds. The problem was random 10 minutes to 40 minutes. These two monitor was same HDMI cable (and work fine on my SmartTV too), PC same and even graphic card driver. I try to reinstall a fresh driver but still a problem. Is - it could be hardware related? Perhaps S2440L have a hardware problem or a S2440L need a more specific HDMI cable? Now I have any problem with my S2440L. the blackout has been occur when overheating circuit behind the monitor. I was watching about about on the HDMI port of overheating by googling and found that HDMI can fail if the (amplifier HDMI) circuit was overheated (I'm not have overheating issue on my old S2340L (rev.) A00). i sure as S2440L (mine is rev. A01) have material problem on HDMI and circuit surprise (lower part of the monitor) have very high temperatures. I hope you, Dell will be it is your responsibility that your monitor, S2440L have an overheating problem / high temperature and could be a HDMI port blackout curtains. It's bad for me avoid this problem by using the VGA port.

    I just touch the border smaller surface compared to the top edge, it is very hot.

    maybe only my S2440L have this problem...

    Today, I remove my VGA card and the power cord, and reinstall the whole again, the problem in black often seem to not like it before summer. It's just a couple of times for that day.

    Actually I feel fine with this monitor, both design and image, but still nervous about high temperature, it's may be the major problem in the long term.

    Maybe I was too early to conclude everything... HDMI is a very sensitive matter, as I said in a previous comment, then I have some tests for my S2440L

    -overclock grid power my VGA card around 2% and delete some fan of my system.

    -find the new place for the power adapter avoid the heat. (I found this use of monitor LG IPS 1. 3a adapter 19V is perhaps)

    Note: I use 750W Seasonic and power supply of 5V and 12V is pretty good (5.1V and 12.05V).

    OK, now I need to close this thread as solved and and report this problem like power supply problem; in major relate.
