System removed

I am currently connected with a 'temporary' profile and cannot access my files or programs.  I can implement new applications, but the warning message indicates that they will be deleted when I go out.  The warning message says wait and try again.

This on a pavilion dm4 Windows 7;  No upgrade of the latter.

Tried the described system restore option and was a success!

Thank you for your kind cooperation.

  • Satellite U400 - I confused speed up my system - removed desktop.ini icon

Some time ago I moved (or deleted) a desktop.ini icon.
This changed the way files/documents are stored on my computer.

I get a lot of shortcuts that I did not do and seem to not be connected to anything.
There are a lot of ntuser.ini and NTUSER. Icons DAT in different folders.

The files are duplicated, and appear in paces I put them.
No document is missing, but it takes time to find them; the logic of the production system seems to be lost.

How to restore the original system? I don't remember when I made this mistake, and I wonder if I did a system restore or something like that could happen to all the software that I subsequently towards the down loaded.

I'm not very expert in computers, as you may have guessed.

I have Satellite U400 and Vista.

    Hello

Have you tried using Windows Vista system restore? You can set the operating system goes back to an earlier era. Therefore, you must go into the advanced boot menu, select fix my computer, and then click System Restore.

In the worst cases, you reinstall the full operating system. You can use the function of HARD drive recovery or the Toshiba Recovery disk you burning?

    Good luck!

I recently bought a model of Satellite A100 PSAA8U - 0S 3033 at a yard sale. Moreover, it also has a finger scanner.

  • Update the system: remove left files in C:\Program Update\session\ of Lenovo?

Downloaded updates are deposited under C:\Program Update\session\ of Lenovo.

Can delete these files after you install the updates?

Yes, you can delete the contents of the folder after the installation of the drivers/software. The next time that you run the system update, you will probably see that the folders and multiple files (such as XML files) under the 'session' folder will be recreated/downloaded again, but these files will not take a lot of space. You can also move the contents of the record session on a USB drive or elsewhere. That way if you need to reinstall your operating system at some point, you can install the update system and copy the content under the folder of the session again. Then, you don't have to download all the stuff once more, as Lenovo download is extremely slow.

I don't know if it is possible to save the folder of session elsewhere and not in the system update folder. Maybe it's possible to change some registry keys or configuration files. It was never a problem for me if you ever tried to change this path. For backup using a backup program that allows to create incremental backups, then the files that is not changed will be saved only during the creation of the full backup. When the full backup is created incremental running not backup those files again unless they are changed.

  • Satellite A300 - very slow meeting of the Windows operating system

    Hello
    I have a Toshiba a300.
I am facing a lot of problems with it.
First of all, very slow sound at startup... I ' v read read this post

    -remove all unnecessary software system
-remove the preinstalled application antivir and installing Avira Antivir software (without a doubt the best for me because he didn't need as many resources)
-deactivation of departure for everything that I have addresses Don ¢ ' t need (MSCONFIG)
-Disabling all components material I don't need in the Manager device (modem, multicard reader, PCMCIA slot, firewire)

Pls u can mention precisely what are all unnecessary software in my laptop... It's first time im having a computer so I donnno much...
I use kaspersky anti virus. Should I switch to avira? I am also faced with another problem. My led on/off function does not work instead, it acts as a mute button. It used to be well earlier... I tried support button (dimmer.exe), Setup of HW, but both failed... then I uninstalled reinstalled n some added value pack from an Australian site, but who has not too... pls help... I'm p * OFF... all the suggestions/help will be really appreciated.

    > Pls u can mention precisely what are all s unnecessary software in my laptop...

Only you can decide what software is not important to you
Toshiba has preinstalled many different programs. Most of these applications control certain features of the laptop as keys FN, controls, etc., but of course, this software needs of material resources and slow down the start-up procedure.

In MSCONFIG, you can disable some processes and could test how the laptop would be without these applications.

In addition, I recommend to update or remove the Tempro tool, which has been pre-installed by Toshiba!

The Avira scanner is great. I m using both and it s free.
This eater of low material s and, therefore, the laptop should start more quickly instead of using Avira Kaspersky.

Did you ever reinstalled your OS from Vista running on your system?  If you have a Windows Vista OEM preinstalled on your system and you have an external hard drive, it wouldn't hurt to go back to factory settings and transfer your data on.  You would eliminate several possible culprits in your system running slow.

  • Removable storage access is denied

    Hello world

Before my question, I'm not 100% sure that it is related to Windows 7 or Windows Server. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

A few weeks ago I had to block access to all classes of removable storage to a group of 5 users or more in the company. So I used the "Computer Configuration" GPO (Computer Configuration > administrative templates > system > removable storage access > classes all removable storage: deny access for all 'Active'.) I applied it to the users, and it worked fine. From there, they were able to use the key USB, CD, etc... After awhile, it was decided by the administration they could get access to rear. So I removed the GPO of these users. After some time, users are complaining that access was denied again. From there on, here's my resolve the path

    • I did a GPRESULT and I could see that the GPO has been applied.
    • I looked to the top of local computer policy (gpedit.msc) and this setting is not configured
    • I looked upward in the event viewer in the computers and the domain controller, nothing interesting found
    • I tried to make a GPUPDATE/force and restart
    • I tried to remove the computer from the Active Directory and join it back to the field
    • The GPO still exists, but not applied to users having the problem, I tried with 2 computers of third parties to reproduce the problem. I applied the GPO, denied access to all removable storage classes. I délettrée the GPO and access to all removable storage classes to restore.

At this point, I don't know what to do. It has been a little hours (days) now that I searched on the internet about this problem and the only user I found that solved this problem, solved by formatting computers upward... This isn't the solution, I want to use.

Please note that these users are in a connected remote site MPLS to the main site and there is a DC in each site and also the replication works very well.

    Best regards

    Mike

  • Remove group policy that blocks USB

I have a group policy that is configured to block access to removable devices for all users. There is a group in Active Directory (2008 R2) that users can be put to block access to the policy and a policy that allows the removable devices. When users are in the group, the registry is changed so that they should have access, but when they try to access a CD or USB drive, they get "access denied".

The policy to block (and allow) access is by using Configuration of user - political - administrative templates - system - removable storage access. I "CD and DVD: deny read access", "CD and DVD: deny write access", "floppy drives: deny read access", "Floppy Drives: deny write access", "removable disks: deny read access ', ' removable disks: deny write access", "all removable storage classes: refuse access to all the", "Ribbon devices: deny Read access", "Ribbon devices: deny Write access", "WPD devices." ": deny Read access ' and ' WPD Devices: deny Write access.

On the strategy of blocking, all who are set to enabled and the policy to allow it, all are set to disabled. If the user is allowed access after that be denied that they are always refused on their main computer. If they log on another computer, it works.

Why the police work as it should?

  • How to hide my system files again?

Recently, I got rid of the virus "Repair Windows". In the process, the virus eventually hide all my files and I realized how to display following guides. I went in cmd Type attrib s h *. * /s /d or something to that effect and he brought back all my files, but computer system is also visible as desktop.ini files. I know that one of the two orders I've done done all files on my drive C visible, including system files, but my real question is, if I simply reverse orders (which I do not know how to do at the moment) which would also make my own cookies again? If this is the case then it is not an option and I would like to know how to hide the files where they cannot be tempered with accidentally or not. Should I just go to properties and to hide, and then select "Hide file types" in folder options, or is there a better way?

Windows has the ability to hide all system files, it's looking at the properties of each file to see if the checkbox 'hidden' or 'system' is defined.

The command you used all the flags hidden / system removed from all files on your entire hard drive.  There is no way to undo what you have (except the restoration of the system, if necessary).  The reverse of the order hiding everything, including your files.
The preferred method to hide or display files is to go to Folder Options and to "hide system files and hidden", but this is worthless today because you destroyed the game data is used by running this command.
If the system restore will not roll back to before running this command, you will need to manually enter each file and re - configure these options.
  • Failed to create the system cd disk image backup

Original title: difference between auomatic backups & do your own backups?

    Hi you all,.

I'm a bit confused about backups, I just got my new mohterboard HPp6320y/win7/improved / 2.7Gz cpu, 64-bit, 8 G - ram. HP offers to immediately burn a recovery-re-boot disk, which I did. Then they strongly suggest to copy a restore disc fictitious system using an external hardrive or external storage such as cd - rw disks, I don't understand if I can burn a shadow of system using my existing internal drive or some other form of storage like USB drives provided that they have sufficient capacity.
So far, so good, but when I first tried to burn a shadow/system using my existing built in internal disk drive, the only choice in the context menu after clicking "burn the backup of the system" was my internal hardrvie. He did not get a disk, so I dropped back until I could understand if I was doing something wrong and fix it
I know that my automatic HP backup restore points are made on a regular basis with or without me having to ask, once partition it the space reserved for different backups with full capacity, my system removes the oldest to give room for the new, correct?
I also know that the purpose of having a shadow system is if your hard drive goes wrong, you can restore your entire OS & the personal data to a new disk, so store in a partition of your works currently hardrive would make no sense if it goes wrong, correct?
Then why, my system will not burn a shadow on a freshly unpacked well-known R/W disk? (I have 10 of them I bought still packed)
Do I need to use a drive external remote disc?
Also, I have a factory built-in removable Pocket media player provided out of my older HPa610n and it holds 160Gs, I have the appropriate connection and it appears therefore as a storage device when I turn on my new current HP. However, when I click Backup a shadow system, it shows that my cd player internal existing as an option where I'm supposed to store my shadow of system. Yet they claim that I can use a USB device, provided that it can contain enough storage, I am really confused and feel a migraine coming!

    Help!      Please... sincerely, boulonman
