System resered don't defrag
Why not system reserved defrag?
Because this is not wanted, it does not contain the startup information and is usually about 100 MB

Original title: after a virus, I've lost the system restore for cannot defragment now
I had a virus which caused problems one of the minor being I've lost the system tools. It now says its empty when I open it.
You don't need system defragmentation tools.
You can defragment from the hard drive, then right-click of your hard drive, properties, tools, defragment now.
Of course, you must fix your missing tools too.
Here's the easiest way I know (thank you, Ramesh):

Part of the answer to the technical support engineer Microsoft does not too which make me think that the MSE has never actually tested this Board to see if it actually works or not. It's a shame.
In addition, these shortcuts are not part in the folder
in any case. These things must go in the folder for all users - if you don't want your XP to be ignored. It is a source of embarrassment. I don't know what you used to remove the virus, but I could do that at some point (soon):
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if you wish. -

Hi Mark,
I suggest you temporarily disable your security software to see if she may be the cause of a conflict:

I did a reinstall of my Windows XP Professional system. I can't activate it. I watched Support MS and it shows that I should go to system tools and select Activate Windows. That is not in my system tools.
Reinstall the file Oobe.inf. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Startand then click run.
- In the Open box, type inf, and then click OK.
- In the Inf folder, right-click oobe.inf, and then click install.
- When you are prompted, insert the Windows XP Pro CD.

Is there one "Boolean" type other than "System.Boolean" that I'm missing here?

your help page has not been updated for windows 8 again.
I need to know how to find the file profiles on windows 8, so I can update with the copy that I took on my XP machine for the ultimate goal to transfer my bookmarks and passwords of 1 machine to another. You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file
The "Application Data" in XP/Win2K folder and the folder "AppData" in Windows Vista and later versions of Windows 7 + are hidden folders.

The question telling this. I just want to remove the 3600 fragments as I suppose it has much effect on the performance of my PC
Unfortunately, there is no way you are going to see any result, since Defraggler destroyed any possibility of actually seeing the results of normal operation.

How to defragment the system disk?
On my HP Windows 7 computer, the system drive access to the Disk Defragmenter tool showed a growing fragmentation since I bought the computer about 14 months ago. Despite the warning that only discs which can be defragmented appear, the entrance to the system drive refuses to defrag (all other defrag properly). The system drive now shows fragmentation of 26%, so there is obviously files being written and rewritten on this subject. Unless I'm missing something, the reader certainly require defragmentation. But how to do?

I also use Diskeeper 2010 (version Professional first) and it keeps all my system files defragmented - I don't know it would deal with the problems you encounter (you can try a fully functional version for 30 days to see what it will do for you).
It is very reliable and I have never had any problems with it whatsoever (the company has been around for a long time and they have great technical support if necessary).
In my opinion, it's the best defragmentation solution available because it runs in the background (so you can use the computer while it defrags) and it also prevents the fragmentation. I suggest you to get the test and try - you can learn more about it at http://www.diskeeper.com/
There is a free offer here for the full Pro first 2011 version of Diskeeper. [Edit - the last of the free copies are spoken for.]

RE: Don't defrag not completed.
I'm assuming you did disk defrag MANUALLY. Yes?
It's a waste of time. You can "plan" disk defrag to date and time. It will take place at the scheduled time, you set up. In this way, it will run without interrupting your normal computer and without your presence chores.
Here are the tutorials to schedule disk defragmentation. You can get what day of the week and what time.
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/configure-disk-defragmenter-schedule-in-Windows-Vista/How to change the planning for disk defragmentation
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/72832-Disk-Defragmenter.htmlThere is an alternative for the Vista built-in defrag application disc.
I use a 3rd party diskdefrag called Auslogics.
It allow you to choose which disk drive to defragment.
It shows you the "play by play" of the porgress.
It gives you a report summary at the end.

Defragmenter Windows 7 shows C: drive and the system as separate volumes and never defragmented it. I have seen that the percentage of fragmentation is increased from 1% now 13%. And it continues to grow.
Is this cause for concern and is it possible to defragment this volume?
The system volume is for the restoration of the system. You cannot defragment it, but you can turn off System Restore and then turn it back on
Or completely disable the system restore. You don't need

Compaq: Defragment system
Defragmentation of disks are performed every week as planned, but the system (now fragmented 12%) woundn can't defragment.
When I pointed out the 'system' and click on defragment, progress stops approximately 1.7% or more.
The message says that it must be defragmented when more than 10% are fragmented. Thank you.
Hello
I would not run every week, he's going to kill your fastest HARD drive. Once a month or every two months are good enough.
