original title: 0x800703f1

When you try to restore the previous settings I get the message: System Restore failed during editing of the registry from the deck of the restoration. An unspecified error occurred during system restore. (0x800703f1)

Hello

·        Have you previously done system restore?

·        Why you restore the system?

·        Where did you try to run the system restore?

Try a different restore point, and check if you are able to restore successfully.

System Restore: frequently asked questions:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/System-Restore-frequently-asked-questions

Alternatively, you can try to disable the firewall / anti-virus installed temporarily on your computer and then try to restore the previous settings. Make sure that you enable the anti-virus after system restore.

    Hello

    2. did you disk cleanup?

    3. why you try to run the system restore?

    4. do you use your computer in dual-boot configuration?

This type of problem usually occurs due to threats of viruses or due to cleaning of the computer disk. I suggest you to scan for viruses and to check if it helps.

  • System Restore doesn't have access to the administrator account

    Hello

Yesterday, I created a new username on my PC under Windows 8, but unfortunately I typed the wrong outlook address, so there is a user account on my system with an address from outlook that is not mine and I do not know the password.  To make things worse, I seem to have made my own local users represent a non-administrator, so the only administrator user account on the PC is that I can not enter and do not know the password.
If I could somehow reset the system back to how it was before yesterday, everything would be fine, but I do not know how, because I don't have an administrator account.
Any help is appreciated!  Thank you.

Thanks for the help.  I just reinstalled Windows 8 in the end - I had everything backed up anyway, and it seemed like the easiest option.

  • System Restore indicates an unspecified error has provisioned & you files have not been changed?

When I try to use the system restore, I get this error as follows... (an unspecified error has provisioned & you files have not changed) I get this same error even using different activation & restore points. I don't know how you can even get an UNSPECIFIED error, seems to me if a mistake has provisioned & he knows it's a mistake he would know what is the error. In my opinion, this error message no sense at all... I'd be happy to hear this error message explained or all thoughts. Thanks for any help...

I can't do the system restore and I have nothing on my "All programs" button, which means that I have not accessories, System Tools, etc. How can I get that back?

    Hello CalebCox,

I suggest that you try the methods below to resolve this issue.

    Method 1:

This problem can be caused due to infection by the Virus. I suggest that you run a virus scan on your computer using Microsoft Safety scanner and check if you have the same problem.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Check if you have the same problem in the new user account.

You can refer to the link below, which will give you information on how to create and configure user accounts in Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/279783

If works, you can copy data to the new user account:

  • I have Win XP and my system restore doesn't give me an option to reset to an earlier date. This option is not yet available in my file system

When I go to start, Control Panel, system and click on system restore, there is no option for me to use the system restore back to an earlier date. I downloaded WinZip and it said I had grown pilots. NA not have money to pay for the update of the driver of Winzip, so I went to intel and had updated the drivers. After that, my pages was ok, full screen. But this morning when I turned on my computer, my office is full screen, but all the fonts were tiny! Then when my screensaver is, there was black on both sides of the photos and the photos were more full-screen. Some were on the right, the left and come inn in the middle with black on both sides. I could hardly read my icons on the desktop. I went to view and enlarges the most important fonts. But I have nothing I couldn't even my Web pages to fill my screen. I removed the update of the driver of WinZip from the computer. So, I don't know if it's happening on the site of Intel or where I updated without updating the driver of WinZip?

I tried to use my system restore because WinZip Optimizet n did not check for outdated drivers, I never should have gone to Intel to update. My Internet Explorer opens full screen but the pages he pulls up is located in the middle of the screen and I can not develop full screen.

Is there anyway that I can get my system restore to open so that I can go back to an earlier date and have my computer back? All that is on the page for my system restore is: System Restore can track and reverse harmful to your computer changes: a box to check 'Turn off System Restore': disk space: and the State: (C): monitoring. That's all.

  • Missing icons and the system restore failed with the error code: 0xc0000022

More a cosmetic problem, but it is annoying me.  I wonder if anyone can help.

I'll try to explain what happened and explains the steps that I tried to solve.

At the launch of windows, after connection, some icons began to miss on the desktop.  Below, these appear to be programs of Microsoft and Apple.

If I choose to properties and then change icon... from the office, I get the following error:

Icons for mainly products of Microsoft and Apple are also missing from the start menu.

However, if I go into properties here, the change icon... button is grayed.

It happened once before.  I tried to run the system restore.  The last time I did this the system restore said have failed - however, the icons were restored.  I tried the same thing again once, however the system restore has not (yet), but this time, the icons are still missing.

I tried to create a new user, but the new account also has the missing icons.  I also ran a full virus scan (Avast) and Windows Defender, but they found nothing.

While not a huge problem, it's annoying, and I wonder if it points to a bigger hidden problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • a system restore. now, I have only a picture of office.

has problems with the PC and did a system restore.  After restoration, released on very well connected and office came.  nothing, no taksbar, start menu, nothing.  only the peak of office.  No, I can't do another restore of the system in safe mode.  Made mode without failure/invite commands and typed in systemrestore, etc..  nothing after hitting enter.  do not go to the recover window.  Help. any ideas?

To run the system restore from a Safe Mode command prompt, you follow the procedure described in the following article?

"How to start the System Restore tool by using the option of safe mode with the command prompt in Windows XP"

Something else you can try...  When you get the white screen with the screen, try hitting Ctrl - Alt - Delete if you have XP Home Edition, the task manager should start.  If you have XP Pro, a window will appear and you can select 'Task Manager '.   After starting the Task Manager, click on the 'Applications' tab, and then make a file-> new task or click on the "New task" button at the bottom.  In the next window, enter "Explorer", click on "OK".  With luck, you get again.

  • System Restore doesn't let me when I first installed xp. How can I make a point of initial system check?

I have not installed xp mysrelf.

This is normal.  System restore points are purged after 90 days.  System Restore also has a feature of space management of automatic restore point that purge older restore points to make room for the new, while allowing the user to recover from the recent destructive changes.  By default, up to a maximum of 12% of the disk hard is allocated for restore points, even if it must be manually reconfigured to 1 GB.

In any case it is generally not a good idea to restore to a time more than a week or two ago, because too many events that are not controlled by the system restore will be arrived in the meantime.

In addition, the restore points are chained together, so that you cannot save a former and delete the most recent.  This will break the whole system restore function and require you to serve all points and start over.

For more information about system restore, see http://bertk.mvps.org/index.html

You need an external DVD drive to get the repair will.

Also the device you own does not seem to have built in the recovery partition. I'm not sure about later versions of this machine, however, it is best to check with HP.

The problem is that there is a corruption of the registry on your OS or the system could not find where the registry files are due to system files or boot corrupted file.

A repair can be made with an external DVD, the worst case, is that if the repair doesn't work you reinstall Windows.
