SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION & BASKET IN EACH DRIVE

Hi, I use windows 8, in my newly purchased ACER netbook. After that I plugged into a USB port, I scanned the USB drive and found no virus. But after the transfer of some files, I noticed that every reader of my netbook shows two hidden files named "System Volume Information" & "Recycle Bin". It seems strange to me to have these hidden files in each car. However, if I mark on the option "Hide protected files" from the "folder option" in the Panel, they are not shown. My problem is that when I tried the solution of it on the internet, some websites it indicated that the presence of the virus in my pc. I want to know if it has nothing to do with the virus. I expect to correct information and the help of who knows this subject. Thanks in advance. :)

It is not a virus, it is mandatory for all drives NTFS have these records.  You should go into your Folder Options and click on "Hide protected operating system files" so that they are invisible and cannot be accidentally touched.

    rhl_yadav,

It is IMPORTANT that you do not delete these files. They are very important to the operating system.

    Instead, you can hide:

    • Open the Options folder by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
    • Click the view tab.
    • Under Advanced settings, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" and "Hide protected operating system files ' are not checked, and then click OK.

    Please help me.

    concerning

These are the two typical Windows system folders. $Recycle.bin is exactly that, the files in the folder are actually moved to when removing other parts of the car. He installed this folder on each drive that you see when you open the Recycle bin icon on the desktop.

System Volume Information is a system folder and contains all the files that reside on the disk that are included in food, distributed link tracking Service points, content indexing Services and Volume Snapshot Service. This deletion would be a very good way to break your computer.

You deleted the parameter Hide protected system files that should never be done unless you have a specific reason to do so. The setting is there for a reason.

  • Loss of disk space available every day as System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive

My PC is under Windows7 Home Premium... version 6.1... Build 7601... service pack 1.

I have a 1 TB hard drive... 3 weeks ago, I've had approximately 813 gb free space... now, I have only 603 gb of free space. I noticed that the folder System Volume Information is passed to 209,53 Go. Don't know why this issue became so great. I lost about 5 to 20 GB of free space on the hard disk every day.

The System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive... Users folder is 43.38 GB... Windows folder is 31.89 GB... WinSxS folder is 15,18 GB.

I installed a couple of applications in the last 6 months... Driver booster... Download App... and size of file.

I didn't save my PC in the last 3 weeks because of this problem.

The only application that I use for backup is MotoCast USB... it creates a backup of the SD card in my smartphone to my PC.  I've been backup card SD in my phone every 3-4 weeks for the past 2 years but never lost so much hard drive space until the last 3 weeks.

  • All hard drives show $RECYCLE. BIN & System Volume Information, is this normal?

    Nice day

I would like to know if it is normal that all of my internal and external drives to have $RECYCLE. BIN and System Volume Information? I have them has not noticed it before, it became evident yesterday when I used my friends laptop drive. Now all internal and external hard drives connected to my PC suddenly have this $RECYCLE. BIN and System Volume Information.

Is this a virus? Cause every time I delete the $RECYCLE. BIN it always comes back and I can not delete System Volume Information. I tried to format my external hard drives, but it always comes back. Appreciate if you could help me to identify if there is a virus or not. Thank you very much.

    Hi reo99

It is normal that the files to be present on all fixed drives and partitions. You cannot permanently delete. This is normally hidden system files. It is possible that you make them visible somehow.

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below and check.
    a. you can open anywhere on the disc and click organize.
    b. now, select folder and search options and click on the view tab in any drive
    c. now check the box against Hide protected operating system filesunder the subtitle of hidden files and folders. Click Ok

    I hope this helps.

Wait for the BitLocker encryption to finish. It does get rid of data left behind from deleted files. The 6 GB is left to allow you to continue working while encryption is performed.

  • System volume information stolen hard drive. VERY slow computer and windows show only (not answer) for 2 to 10 seconds at a time. Help, please.

After starting my computer to Windows 7 Enterprise, I noticed that it runs very slowly.  for example, the scrolling of a window of firefox crashes every 10 seconds or more.  The gel lasts between 2 and 10 seconds with the little blue wheel, spinning, (not answer) in the toolbar.

  • Why System Volume Information so great and why is it in several files?

Recently, I ran a Disk Defragmenter on my Vista 32 bit. He had several reported System Volume Information folders. I read that it contains vital information in it, but I fear that it is in several folders and that the combined size of the files is 70 GB. 70 GB spread over about 20 cases doesn't seem right. If the size is not a result of a virus or something similar, it is possible to limit the size and recover some of the 70 GB system volume information folders now use?

By default, the system restore takes up to 15% of the total capacity of your hard drive under Vista.

    http://www.vista4beginners.com/system-restore-space-used

"Change the amount of space used by system restore.

You can be interested in the above to save free space on the drive by changing the amount of disk space used by system restore...

System Restore is a very useful feature of Windows Vista, but it has a drawback. After running for a few weeks, it can use a lot of space on your hard drive. With the default settings enabled, System Restore can use up to 15 percent of the space on each disk. For example, if you have a 250 GB hard drive, System Restore may end up using 37, 5 GB of it.

    Hello

These 2 files are normal for any installation of Windows.

$recycle.bin contains data relating to the trash and the System Volume information contains the Restore Points to restore the system on each disk.

Normally, these folders are hidden by default.

In file Explorer, click the view tab in the Ribbon toolbar.

In the Options Menu, select folder and search options.

In the Folder Options window, select the view tab.

Select the option do not show hidden files, folders, and drives.

    Click apply/OK.

    Respected Sir/Madam,

Recently, I have bee affected by a series of blue screen errors. Norton AntiVirus and other well-known software just crash. Update of virus definitions files are reported as being corrupted. Fortunately, I used this SPYWARE DOCTOR which founf a file infected by HACKIT name. ROOTKIT in the SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION folder, which is hidden from the usual interface of WINXP.

Please suggest some methods on how to DELETE the infected on this hidden folder?

IF I MAKE THE HIDDEN VISIBLE THROUGH THE IBM R & R PARTITION, IT WILL HAVE AN EFFECT ON THE DATA ON THE DRIVE? ALSO, AFTER YOU DELETE THE INFECTED FILE BY USING THIS METHOD, IF I SWITCH IT BACK TO HIDDEN, WILL BE IS TO HAVE NO EFFECT ON THE CURRENT HARD DISK CONTENT?

pleas suggest alternative methods to get rid of this infection.

SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION is your Restore. As system an alternative to do a factory restore, try flushing the system restore, then you can start fresh. This procedure will not delete your saved data and apps like restoration to the State of the plant would be.

In order to remove the XP System Restore Points:
(On XP, you must be logged in as an administrator to do.)
Go to start > run and type msconfig and press ENTER.
When opens in msconfig, click Launch System Restore.
On the next page, click System Restore settings on the left.
Check the box enable the system restore.

Reset. Reassemble and turn on system restore. A new Restore Point is created.

So, if you still have problems, it would mean that you have active running malware, or you have run at the same time a scanner that was falsely reported as this file, please come back. Often our malware removal tools are captured by General scanners as "Hacktools.

  • Cannot delete the System Volume Information trash

I am running Windows xp on a Dell computer and I recently removed the System Volume Information folder on an external hard drive after the deactivation of the restoration of the system for this drive.  I don't remember how it happened, but the said folder ended up in the trash.  Now every time that I try to empty the trash, I get an error message indicating that access to the file is denied and it cannot be deleted.  I can see the folder in the trash, but I can restore it or delete it.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Thanks for your reply. I tried both of your suggestions, but unfortunately none of them allowed me to remove the stubborn system folder.  I had to start the computer in Mode safe, gives me full control over the folder to the trash (even though I am the administrator) and then finally was able to remove it. For some reason any Security tab does not appear when you talk about the Properties dialog box, unless you are using safe mode.
